Chapter 48 Alone and Solitary, Yet Filled with Radiance

He Youyou hesitated, "I promised my friend I couldn't tell anyone else."

Zhao Changqing's eyes darted around a few times, his gaze sweeping over her face and body.

“You don’t look safe either. There are many people on the road, and you might run into bad people. I’ll go with you,” he said.

"No need," He Youyou shook her head.

She has her own space, so what is she afraid of?

If you encounter bad guys, just enter the space and escape.

Even the gods couldn't find her.

“Even if there are bad guys, I have ways to deal with them. You should stay at the inn.” He Youyou declined his offer.

Zhao Changqing didn't want her to go alone, but he couldn't very well insist on going with her.

He is a dignified...

We must never belittle ourselves like that.

Without saying anything more, He Youyou immediately called her coachman and set off in the carriage.

Jiaqingfang Old Elm Tree Alley, a tranquil teahouse.

This was the meeting place that Cheng Tingrui had left for her.

If she has a message to pass on, she can leave it with the owner of this teahouse, who will then send someone to deliver it.

He Youyou got off the carriage and went to the Qingxian Tea House.

The tea server at the leisurely teahouse greeted her with a smile: "Madam, are you here for tea? Please come in and have a seat."

He Youyou said calmly, "Go and call your manager. I need to speak with him."

The tea master observed carefully for a while.

Although the young woman didn't have any valuable jewelry, her fur coat was quite extraordinary.

Moreover, her overall demeanor was unlike that of an ordinary woman from a humble family.

Immediately alerted, she dared not be negligent and hurriedly and warmly greeted him, saying, "Madam, please have a seat. I will go and fetch the manager right away."

The owner of Qingxian Tea House is a middle-aged man with a refined and scholarly demeanor.

He had a long beard under his chin, carried a folding fan in his hand, and strolled leisurely with measured steps.

"I heard this lady wants to see me?" The shopkeeper bowed respectfully.

When He Youyou saw the shopkeeper arrive, she didn't waste any time with pleasantries and went straight to the point: "I need to deliver a message to your master. Shall we talk here?"

The shopkeeper's eyes changed, and he instantly became alert, his relaxed demeanor turning into a wary one: "Madam, please come with me."

Following him, we went up another floor through a maze of turns and arrived at a secluded, quiet room.

"Please have a seat, Madam," the shopkeeper said respectfully.

He Youyou waved her hand and said, "I'm not sitting here anymore. I'll leave after I finish speaking."

The shopkeeper cupped his hands in a gesture of listening attentively: "Please speak, Madam."

"Please tell Cheng Tingrui that I have a way to help him with what he wants to do. If he is interested, he can come and talk to me in person. I have been staying at the Wangshanlou Inn in the east of Jizhou City for the past three days."

"May I ask how I should address you, Madam?"

"He Youyou".

"Yes, I will inform the master as soon as possible," the shopkeeper replied respectfully.

He Youyou delivered the message and then left.

She took a car back to the Wangshanlou Inn where she was staying.

Back in the room, Zhao Changqing was still waiting for him.

Why are you still here?

Zhao Changqing held the teacup in his hand, not saying a word, but only glancing at her sideways.

He Youyou: Why are you glancing at her like that? It's like she's done something wrong...

She just went out to take care of some errands.

"It's lunchtime, let's go down for lunch," He Youyou said.

"No need, just have the waiter bring the food to my room," Zhao Changqing said gently.

"Oh, then I'll go call Ahri over to eat together."

Zhao Changqing: "..."

He Youyou asked the waiter to bring over some dishes, and the three of them ate lunch in her room.

Han Wenzheng was still excited and was describing the Lantern Festival scenery to her.

“Mother, the streets are so lively at night, with vendors selling snacks and trinkets, you name it. What would you like to eat? It’s on me. I’ve been saving the pocket money you’ve given me these past few days.”

He didn't need to treat He Youyou to anything; he only had a pittance in his pocket, not much at all.

But she didn't want to be a spoilsport.

The fact that Ahri said those words shows that she had already planned this surprise for her, and she couldn't dampen her enthusiasm.

Once a child's kindness is pushed away, it may never come back.

Thinking of this, she nodded happily: "Then I won't be polite. I haven't tried any of the snacks here yet. I'm going to eat my fill. Do you have enough money in your pocket?"

Han Wenzheng was even happier when he saw her nod: "Yes, yes! Mother, please eat as much as you like."

Finally, evening arrived. The three of them skipped dinner and decided to go out shopping to have some snacks on empty stomachs.

After getting dressed, He Youyou led Han Zheng downstairs.

The Wangshanlou Inn, with its three floors all lit up.

The lights were dazzling, as bright as day.

As soon as He Youyou went down the stairs, she saw a person standing in the lobby on the first floor.

This person is really hard to miss.

Too dazzling.

Cheng Tingrui wore a light-colored brocade robe with cloud patterns, and a white fox fur cloak over it.

Alone and serene, yet the room radiates light.

"Young Master Cheng, the Second Young Master." He Youyou greeted him.

Zhao Changqing, who was going downstairs with them, stopped when he saw He Youyou go up to talk and stood at the bottom of the stairs with Han Wenzheng.

His eyes were sharp as he watched the two figures approach.

Cheng Tingrui gently raised his hand in a gesture of respect: "Madam Han."

He Youyou was a little surprised: "You came quickly. Why did you come all the way here on such a holiday? I thought I wouldn't see you until tomorrow at the earliest."

“This matter is extremely urgent for me, and I dare not delay. I wonder if it would be convenient for Madam Han to have a private chat in a quiet place?” Cheng Tingrui suggested.
