Chapter 11 Tow Truck

A thunderclap echoed through the wilderness, followed by a torrential downpour of wind and rain.

Jiang Hexi was still dozing under the banyan tree when she was suddenly awakened and heard the dense rain pattering against the leaves above.

She borrowed an umbrella from the cameraman and hurriedly walked towards the field.

Yan Jie's rustling voice came through the walkie-talkie:

"Director Chen has called a halt to filming! Get out from under the banyan tree quickly, or you'll get struck by lightning!"

Hearing this, Jiang Hexi felt terrible. What kind of person was this? He cursed her to be struck by lightning the moment he opened his mouth.

"I'll go to the field to find you."

"Stay in the road and don't move. I'll drive my tractor over to pick you up."

Dark clouds loomed overhead, thunder roared, and a fierce wind, accompanied by torrential rain, swept across the entire mountain forest, creating waves of wind that surged into the distance.

Jiang Hexi held the umbrella tightly to keep it from being blown away by the wind. The rain soaked her trousers, and for a moment, she felt like she was about to be blown away by the strong wind!

The tractor bumped and lurched onto the road, then the passenger door was flung open, and Yan Jie reached out and said:

"Come up—"

Jiang Hexi grabbed his hand, stepped onto the car, closed the door, and the world suddenly became quiet.

Yan Jie glanced at her, then rummaged through his storage box and pulled out a shirt, handing it to her.

"Thank you." Jiang Hexi took the shirt and put it on inside out.

Yan Jie picked up the walkie-talkie and shouted to Shen Yingyu on the other end, "Have you finished work over there?"

"We've taken it, but we can't get it out."

Shen Yingyu replied, "There's a tractor blocking the way. It won't be able to get off until the rain stops so we can see what's going on. You should take another route and go back from the back of the village."

"receive."

Yan Jie then contacted Yu Xiangwan, "How are things between you and Chu Yang?"

Yu Xiangwan: "The two of us sat in the driver's seat to take shelter from the rain."

Yan Jie instructed, "The road ahead is blocked. The only way to go is the road behind the village. Since your driving skills aren't up to par, don't rush back. Wait until the rain stops before you go."

Yu Xiangwan: "..."

Did he really need to be so blunt?

Yan Jie turned the tractor around and headed back. The dirt road was full of potholes, and the tractor bumped along the way. Suddenly, a jumble of noise came from the walkie-talkie.

Jiang Hexi pressed the walkie-talkie, and the director's team's voices came through urgently:

"The interview vehicle is stuck in the mud and can't be driven out. Is there a tractor that can come and help pull the vehicle out?"

Before anyone could reply, the other end said impatiently:

"This whole car is full of Director Chen's camera beauties. They'll be completely ruined if they get wet. Please come over here right away, it's an emergency!"

Yan Jie gestured for Jiang Hexi to bring over the walkie-talkie, and then he replied:

"I'm coming over now."

The torrential rain was raging. The wipers had barely swept through one layer of water before more rain poured down. The headlights shone forward, but could only illuminate the road within three meters.

When Yan Jie drove his tractor to the low-lying area, he realized how bad the situation was.

The entire interview vehicle got stuck in the mud, and rainwater poured in from all around, quickly turning this low-lying area into a shallow pond.

Yan Jie pulled a raincoat from under the car seat, put it on quickly, and pushed open the car door to get out. The wind and rain rushed in through the cracks in the door.

"Keep an eye on the tractor, don't get off."

Before Jiang Hexi could even respond, the sound of the door slamming shut her up.

Her partner was a bit domineering and unreasonable, but fortunately, he was extremely capable and could arrange everything perfectly, so she didn't have to worry about anything.

Because of these qualities, she could occasionally turn a blind eye and not argue with him.

Yan Jie stood in the rain, pointed to another van on the road, and shouted to the production crew:

"First, pack up the camera equipment and move it to that car!"

"These are all large pieces of photography equipment; we simply can't move them," a staff member shouted. "The rain is too heavy; even through the rainproof cloth, the lenses are getting soaked!"

Yan Jie stepped into the mud, circled the interview vehicle once, and then returned to the front of the vehicle.

He called two staff members, and together they went to the foot of the opposite mountain, removed the door panels of the thatched hut, and used them as footrests under the wheels.

They then used a tow rope to secure the interview vehicle to the tractor's hook.

Director Chen was trapped in the studio by the torrential rain. Although he couldn't get out, he kept an eye on the situation.

Upon learning that Yan Jie and Jiang Hexi had gone to tow the truck, he pulled up the surveillance video inside the vehicle and immediately started a live stream, allowing the photographer to film the entire towing process from inside the van.

This program focuses on documentary style, and it will not miss any highlight of the characters' growth.

At this point, the rainwater accumulated in the low-lying area had submerged half of the tire.

Yan Jie, soaking wet, sat in the interview vehicle. Holding a walkie-talkie, he spoke to Jiang Hexi, who was in the tractor:

"Xi-mei, do as I say and get into the driver's seat."

Jiang Hexi's heart raced uncontrollably; she was both nervous and excited. After a few seconds of hesitation, she finally said, "Okay."

[Why are there three feeds in the live stream? It's raining so hard outside, is someone towing a truck? Xi Mei is driving a tractor to tow the King of Hell's truck!]

[I've never seen anything like it! Is this really the same chaebol heiress I know? When did Xi Mei learn to drive a tractor?]

The key point is that one dared to drive, and the other dared to pull, but in the end, it was Director Chen's car that was damaged in the crash!

Am I the only one who noticed the men's shirt that Xi Mei was wearing?

"Start the engine, shift the gear lever to 6th gear, release the clutch, and press the accelerator."

"The traction rope has been straightened."
