Chapter 155 Watching a Movie

"You absolutely must not let my brother know about this."

Jiang Hexi pondered carefully: "If they find out, just insist that the house was bought before you met me."

After being lectured by her in a serious manner, Yan Jie, unusually good-natured, said:

"Finished talking? Then come with me to show me your new house."

The entire apartment is nearly 300 square meters, decorated in an Italian light luxury style, with brown and coffee-colored furniture and appliances throughout, exuding a refined and elegant feel in the cool tones.

The overall style of the house perfectly matches the temperament of Yan Jie.

Yan Jie pulled Jiang Hexi down onto the leather sofa, gently kneading her waist and half-embracing her in his arms.

"Do you see what else we need to buy for the house? We'll go out and buy it in the next couple of days."

"Seriously?"

"I'll listen to you."

Jiang Hexi excitedly pressed herself against his chest and boldly voiced her opinion:

"The sofas on the balcony look too cold and austere. We need to plant a row of nephrolepis, bamboo palm, pieris, cacti and jacaranda, and also set up some ambient lights."

“In the study, you can place a golden acrylic floor lamp, its shape as soft as silk, burning as intensely as a flame.”

She stared intently at him, her eyes sparkling with tiny stars. "I also want to put a rose bear that's over a meter tall in the living room."

Yan Jie rested his head on one hand and asked doubtfully, "Red?"

"A teddy bear made of bright red preserved roses is sitting there—"

Jiang Hexi rolled over, nestled comfortably in his arms, and pointed to the most prominent spot next to the TV wall, saying:

"Whenever someone enters this house, they know that there is a lady of the house inside."

Yan Jie imagined the visual impact of rose and brown colliding together, and the thought made him feel uncomfortable.

Jiang Hexi glanced up at him, and seeing that he was still hesitating, she continued speaking to herself:

“I’ve had my eye on this rose bear for a long time. I begged my dad, and he bought it for my mom. I begged my brother, and he said it was a couple’s bear and that my future boyfriend should buy it for me.”

She's already hinted at it this far; he should be getting the hint by now.

As a result, Yan Jie, a terminal case of male chauvinism, laughed at her and said:

"Keep making it up."

"What are you going to make up?"

"Your two brothers who are afflicted by paraquat will only nip your love in the bud and won't give your future boyfriend a chance."

Jiang Hexi shot her a sharp look and bluntly asked, "Are you buying it or not?"

Yan Jie smiled, but when it came to making a serious statement, he was unambiguous: "Buy."

The afterglow of the setting sun slanted through the balcony, painting the cool-colored floor with a golden hue.

Yan Jie turned on the linear light strip in the living room, the contrast of light and shadow creating a luxurious feel. He subtly penetrated her consciousness, guiding her aesthetic sense:

"You used to think the interior design was cold and impersonal, but now that the warm yellow lights are on, doesn't it feel completely different, like a cyberpunk metallic vibe?"

"I still want a fireplace."

Jiang Hexi rested her chin on his shoulder and urged him on:

"Imagine a cold, rainy autumn night, or a blizzard in winter, nestled at home by the fireplace, sipping hot coffee—doesn't that sound warm and cozy?"

Yan Jie switched hands and rested his head on them, finding it hard to reconcile such avant-garde decor with a traditional old-fashioned fireplace.

Is it okay?

Jiang Hexi made a fuss with Yan Jie once, but before he could make a second fuss, he gave in and said, "Fine."

Yan Jie thought the rose bear was his bottom line, but now that there's a fireplace too, he realizes he has no bottom line at all.

Jiang Hexi, upon mentioning coffee, suddenly sat up from the sofa and asked, "What are we having for dinner?"

Unable to get a response from him, she quickly made up her mind, her voice brimming with excitement: "How about I take you to a traditional Hong Kong restaurant?"

This time, Yan Jie didn't indulge her and flatly refused, saying, "We'll eat at home today."

"I can't cook, and neither can you. Are we just going to sit here and eat nothing?"

"I've ordered the food, the delivery person will bring it over right away."

Yan Jie saw through her intentions: "We agreed to watch the movie in a private cinema, so don't even think about going outside."

Jiang Hexi couldn't understand why he was so insistent on taking her to the movies.

After much thought, she came up with one possibility: he wanted to imitate Xie Wanyi and have the beauty throw herself into his arms.

After dinner, Yan Jie took a hot shower.

Jiang Hexi, carrying a cushion, pushed open the soundproof door of the private cinema. A strip of light illuminated, guiding her to the sofa bed in front of the giant screen.

She walked down the steps, triggering the sensor. The starry sky ceiling above her gradually lit up, and she was truly surprised and delighted as she gazed at the vast and boundless sky.

"Damn rival, they decorated the whole house so luxuriously, no wonder they stole my business."

With a "let's give it a try" attitude, Jiang Hexi turned on the movie on the giant screen.

She was immediately drawn to the ultra-high-definition giant screen picture quality, and surrounded by stereo sound, she was instantly captivated, watching with rapt attention.

Yan Jie never expected that after taking a bath, she would disappear without a trace.

He arrived at the cinema entrance and heard eerie noises coming from inside. He pushed open the soundproof door and saw her wrapped in a sheet, timidly watching a horror movie on the giant screen.

I'm a coward, but I still insist on watching.

Yan Jie dried his hair and walked to the sofa bed. Jiang Hexi quickly patted the seat next to him and said:

"Sit down, the movie has been going on for ten minutes."

"You knew the movie was showing early, but you didn't know I hadn't even taken a seat yet?"

He had just sat down on the sofa bed when she snuggled into his arms and wrapped his arm around her right shoulder.

"I watched the first ten minutes of the movie for you, and to sum it up in one sentence, you can skip that part entirely."

Yan Jie was amused by her cleverness, picked up the remote control, and exited the movie.

Jiang Hexi stared at the search interface on the giant screen and exclaimed in surprise:

Why did you turn off my horror movie?

"Who said I was going to invite you to a horror movie?"

Yan Jie gave her a meaningful look, then turned on a romantic movie, leaned back on the sofa, and watched it with her in his arms.

Jiang Hexi teased him, saying, "So you're a literary youth at heart."

Yan Jie scoffed coldly and said nothing.

Jiang Hexi's laughter faded as she smiled.

This is a large-scale action-romance film.

As the plot unfolds, the screen is filled with an overwhelming sense of hormones.

She was so thirsty that she picked up the bottled water on the table and gulped down two mouthfuls of cold water.

Immediately afterwards, seductive music emanated from the surround sound system, causing her blood vessels to burst and her face to turn a deep liver color.

Just as the climax of the movie was about to arrive, Yan Jie pressed the pause button at this crucial moment.

Jiang Hexi glanced back at him, their eyes met, and tender feelings flowed between them. Naturally, they embraced and kissed.
