Chapter 169 Card Etiquette

Jiang Hexi's card skills were mediocre, but she was determined to change her luck.

Yu Xiangwan didn't even dare to sit at the table, which shows how terrible her mahjong skills were. Don't listen to Chu Yang's loud clamor; with his dim-witted brain, it's obvious he can't play any high-level games.

Her only worry was Liu Yuxi.

After Jiang Hexi dealt the cards, she glanced at the cards and felt a chill run down her spine.

She had a hand full of only one cards, and a lot of useless cards. Just as Chu Yang said, her luck had really run out.

She focused on defense, discarding familiar tiles like the 3 and 9 of bamboo, and then drawing several useless tiles. As a result, after three rounds, her hand hadn't progressed any further.

At the card table, Chu Yang had the best luck, and he could practically wear the prospect of victory on his face. Next was Yu Xiangwan, followed by Liu Yuxi.

Jiang Hexi's mentality crumbled in the face of reality. Her initial determination to win turned into a desire to simply avoid being the last one to lose.

She removed the four of bamboo and the eight of sticks, focusing on discarding unlucky tiles in an attempt to weaken Liu Yuxi's luck.

Looking at the four cards in her hand—East, South, West, North—she picked up an East card to pass, but Yan Jie behind her stopped her and threw away a different card instead.

Jiang Hexi looked at him, puzzled.

Yan Jie gave her a reassuring look.

After two rounds, Liu Yuxi revealed a pair of East, South, and North winds with great difficulty. She also had two white tiles in her hand. Once she successfully melded Jiang Hexi's three tiles, the game of mahjong would soon be over.

Yan Jie's discard of a tile completely thwarted Liu Yuxi's self-draw.

Even Liu Yuxi's good temper was completely worn down by Jiang Hexi's cheating behavior.

"Xi-mei, are you playing this mahjong table, or is Yan-wang playing?"

"I'm playing."

"Then why did the Prince of Yan step in to help you?"

"Is he trying to help me?"

Jiang Hexi turned to look at Yan Jie and scolded him, saying, "Prince Yan, why are you throwing my cards around like this without my consent? Are you trying to trip me up because you can't stand to see me win?"

Yan Jie gently asked her, "What if we win?"

Jiang Hexi: "Of course it's on me."

"What if you lose?"

"It's on you."

Yan Jie agreed in front of Liu Yuxi, "I wronged you before, and now I'm repaying you. That way we're even."

The three people at the card table, each drawing a card, were all shocked by this statement, as they witnessed the blatant cheating.

"Wow, you can even do it like this?!" Viewers in the live stream had a lot to say.

[Yan Wang was keeping track of the cards the whole time; he probably guessed Liu Yuxi's trump card, which is why he stopped Xi Mei from making a move. He's so cunning.]

These two teaming up is going to be a nightmare for single people!

[Xi Mei's luck is greater than her pride, so in order to change her luck, she even abandoned her pride.]

[Hmm... This is the first time I've seen someone cheat so blatantly, and so brazenly at that. As a long-time Yanxi CP fan, I sincerely pray for Xi's opponent: Amen.]

After reversing Liu Yuxi's fortune, Yan Jie immediately went to deal with Yu Xiangwan.

He touched the tiles twice in a row, disrupting Yu Xiangwan's rhythm, which directly angered Xie Wanyi.

Xie Wanyi had long disliked Yan Jie, so he leaned close to Yu Xiangwan's ear and began teaching her how to play mahjong.

The group was engrossed in a fierce mahjong game until Liu Yuxi was killed as a sacrifice. Then, the sound of mahjong tiles clattering filled the air, and the second round began.

Then Liu Yuxi was once again utterly annihilated, followed by a third, a fourth...

All night long, Liu Yuxi was so defeated that she began to question the meaning of life.

She couldn't understand why she was so unlucky, until she saw Jiang Hexi stand up from the mahjong table after winning, waving her hand and saying:

"I'm not fighting anymore. I'll quit while I'm ahead."

Chu Yang hadn't won many times, and he immediately protested, "Sister, you can't just start a fight whenever you want, and then stop whenever you want."

"I play cards to change my luck."

Jiang Hexi looked at him with clear eyes and said, "My bad luck has turned around now, there's no point in continuing to fight."

"You're not going to play anymore?"

"I'm not playing anymore."

Jiang Hexi walked upstairs, yawning repeatedly, and said:

"From now on, as long as my legend is on the poker table, it doesn't matter whether I play or not. King Yan will take care of things for me."

The three people at the card table hated her to the core; her card etiquette was absolutely terrible!

However, Yan Jie stood up for her, and the three of them were bloodied and bruised by him all night, leaving them severely weakened and temporarily lacking the courage to challenge him again.

Liu Yuxi was the most aggrieved. She inherited all of Jiang Hexi's bad luck, but she didn't dare to say a word. She could only swallow her anger and suffer in silence.
