"Seeing how hard you're working, let me help you. Which one do you want? A seventeen or eighteen-pound mandarin fish, or a five-pound mandarin fish, hmm?"
"I'll catch it myself, I don't need your help."
Yu Xiangwan bluntly asked, "So how long are you going to keep swindling? Until it gets dark?"
Nan Xi glanced down at the claw gloves on her hands and scoffed:
"You all have gloves, but I don't. What more do you want from me?"
Yu Xiangwan took off her gloves right in front of her, but Nan Xi objected:
"I don't want the gloves you wore."
Once Yu Xiangwan's temper flared up, she acted recklessly. She took off her gloves and was about to throw them at Nan Xi's face when Jiang Hexi grabbed her arm and pushed her backward.
"Use this to rinse with water."
Jiang Hexi handed her a section of water pipe, saying, "After I remove the fish gills, you can use this to rinse the cutting board clean."
Nan Xi took the water pipe and reluctantly accepted the task.
The "one-stop fish-killing service" has officially launched.
Yu Xiangwan scooped the reservoir fish out of the fishing box, placed it on the cutting board with one hand, and slammed it down with a cleaver, stunning the fish.
Jiang Hexi was in charge of the "blind cleaning" process. She cut open the skull and the fish's belly, and with her rough touch, she cleaned out the gills and internal organs in one go.
Anyway, she believed that "out of sight, out of mind" and was convinced that she hadn't killed the fish, so she took it out with great ease.
Only Nanxi saw the bloody, filthy scene while rinsing, and felt nauseous from time to time, wanting to vomit but unable to:
"This fish is too fishy, I can't stand the smell, can I have some time to recover?"
Jiang Hexi threatened her, "You took this job, so even if you feel so disgusted that you want to vomit, you have to watch me kill all these fish."
