A book fell on Xuxu's chest. It was the ancient treasure book.
Xu Xu wanted to open the ancient book, but he heard a mechanical voice in his mind:
"Excessive energy loss, repair in progress, the tome is temporarily unavailable!"
"Where exactly is this place?" Xuxu stood up.
Suddenly, a group of monkeys rushed over from all directions, each carrying a spear with the tip of the spear pointed at Xuxu.
"You are not a monkey? What are you doing in our grassland tribe's territory?" An older monkey with a white beard said sternly.
"No, no—I'm a monkey too." Xuxu suddenly had an idea. "I'm a giant monkey, so I don't have hair!"
"Don't lie to me?" the old monkey with white beard asked suspiciously.
Xuxu thought to himself, "What kind of intelligence do you monkeys have? Twenty or thirty at most, how could you possibly see through my lies?"
"No, I didn't lie to you!" Xu Xu said, "I swear, if I lied to you, I'm not a monkey!"
The group of monkeys were indeed muscular and simple-minded. They immediately believed Xuxu and treated him as a big monkey and one of their own kind.
"Newcomer, come with us back to the orchard in the east," said the old monkey. "I am the elder of the monkey group in the orchard."
"Hello, elder." Xu Xu asked politely, "Where is this place? How did you find me?"
"This is the prairie!" the monkey elder replied. "I was just out on patrol with my men when I spotted you, a giant monkey, falling from the sky, and so I came over."
"Where is the prairie on the mainland?" Xuxu asked again.
"I don't know what continent it is. No monkey has ever walked out of the grassland in our lifetime." The monkey elder replied.
"Hmm..." Xuxu thought for a moment and said, "I can go back with you. Actually, I am a messenger sent by God. I have a noble status, so you can't ask me to do any work or anything."
"Really? Are you really a messenger sent by God?" the monkey elder asked excitedly, with a joyful expression on his face.
The monkeys around cheered loudly, pointing their spears at the sky and shouting wildly!
Xuxu's heart moved. These monkeys were so excited. It seemed that they really liked the messenger from heaven. This matter could continue to be disguised!
"That's right, I am indeed a messenger from God. I am honest and trustworthy!" Xuxu said, patting his chest.
"That's good." The monkey elder's beard fluttered with joy. "Monkey legend says that eating the messenger from heaven grants eternal life. Monkeys, capture this messenger from heaven and make him dinner!"
Xuxu fell to the ground and then got up quickly.
"You misunderstood me!" Xu Xu hurriedly explained, "I used to be a messenger from heaven, but now I'm retired. I'm not anymore!"
If there were only a few monkeys, he could still fight with his strength, but with so many of them, he estimated that he would have no choice but to flee!
"I'm just like you now, a mere monkey. Eating me is useless!" Xuxu said. "My flesh is sour and rancid. I haven't showered in days, and I smell moldy. If you eat me, you'll definitely vomit to death."
"Oh?" said the monkey elder. "Why do I feel like you're lying to me again? Ah—why did I say 'again'? Were you lying to me just now?"
"I didn't lie to you. If I did, I'm not a monkey!" Xuxu said.
"Okay, you big monkey, follow us back to the orchard." The monkey elder put away his spear and led the team away.
Xuxu followed the monkeys back. He was unfamiliar with this place, so he decided to hang out with these monkeys for a few days first.
