Chapter 497: Ship Sky Building

Wang Xiaohai had known for a long time that someone was eavesdropping outside the door, but what he was talking about with Professor Mo was not a secret, so he didn't care whether someone was eavesdropping.

The service robot on the first floor was indeed as Professor Mo had described: a bit slow and dull. Its tracked lower body made a creaking sound as it rolled, clearly having not been lubricated for a while. However, it paid no attention to the noise, seemingly finding it more comfortable this way. Its spherical head, capable of 360-degree rotation, spun ceaselessly, its two red eyes flashing constantly. It scanned Wang Xiaohai with infrared rays, but saw nothing, as if nothing was in front of it.

"Program malfunction, needs repair."

All the signal lights on the body of this alternative service robot kept flashing, and then the tracks changed direction and returned to its room. The sounds of welding and electric screwdrivers came from the room, and flames of various colors flickered on the doors and windows.

Wang Xiaohai knew that his body's material structure was divine, impossible to find in nature, and the robot would certainly not be able to recognize it, which would cause it to mistakenly think it was malfunctioning. However, Wang Xiaohai was amazed that the service robot could repair itself automatically. He wondered if it could create a new service robot with enough materials.

The night here is very quiet. Even the robots stopped and the electric cutting machine was used. Wang Xiaohai lay quietly. Although he no longer needed to sleep, he was organizing his thoughts and making plans.

The next morning, Wang Xiaohai got up earlier than anyone else in the villa. He quietly left the Mo family villa alone, found a parked truck on the side of the road, poured the gold on it, and then drove to the bank.

The banks in the Ludo galaxy never ask about the origin of the gold. Wang Xiaohai exchanged the gold for Ludo currency smoothly and walked quickly down the marble steps of the Ludo Recruitment Bank.

Ahead were all kinds of hover cars and skytrains shuttling through pipes, as well as countless surveillance drones flying around in the sky like mosquitoes. Several old cleaning robots were using long straws to clean up the garbage on the streets. The paint on their plastic cylindrical bellies had mostly peeled and faded. A naughty little boy picked up a stone and hit the cleaning robot, then ran away with a giggle.

Wang Xiaohai frowned. It seemed that robots were always bullied in the Ludo galaxy. But when he thought about it, he had never encountered a situation where machines were treated the same as humans. It was normal for them to work all the time. No boss would give his excavator two days off every week or pay him a salary. Of course, these were machines without consciousness, and robots would not treat them as their own kind.

He stepped onto an automatically extending gangway, which led him to a waiting area. A sign displayed the schedules of the passing hoverbuses and skytrains. It wasn't just a metal plate, but a screen with an advertisement scrolling below it: "Oli Wall Tiles," automatically color-changing tiles. "Congda Home Robot," an all-purpose robot that required no repairs or maintenance, only electricity, and could last a thousand years.

Wang Xiaohai remembered that Professor Mo's robot was also a Congda brand. He saw that the trademark engraved on the robot's body was exactly the same as the one in the advertisement. He carefully examined the railway map and found that Professor Mo's home was in the Qiyi District. After waiting for several trips, the skytrain stopped and Wang Xiaohai boarded it.

Professor Mo Yuze had already been waiting in the yard in his car, a magnetic levitation jeep with seven seats. Professor Mo sat in one seat, and Zhang Jiajia also sat in another. Professor Mo's son, Mo Shanhe, was nowhere to be seen. He must have gone out to play. Wang Xiaohai slipped in, startling both of them in the car.

"I was so scared, I thought it was a ghost." Zhang Jiajia patted his chest.

"Let's go." Professor Mo released his foot on the accelerator, and the two taillights of the hover car spewed fire. It rushed forward and almost hit the wall of the villa.

The levitating jeep flew through the dense traffic at a speed exceeding 200 yards per hour. Although the speed was high, there was no danger because the two magnetic levitation vehicles would automatically bounce away and turn when the distance between them was too low, just like the two ends of the same magnetic pole repelling each other.

After an hour's journey, the car arrived at the outskirts of the city and the traffic flow was obviously reduced a lot.

"We're here," Professor Mo said. "The Chuan Tian Group is ahead, and the sky above is a restricted area for hovercraft." As he spoke, his car lowered its altitude and flew towards the open gate.

"Why are maglev trains banned in the air?" Zhang Jiajia asked.

"Because the spacecraft launches, a powerful nuclear energy reaction will generate electron pulse waves, which can damage the instruments and electronic circuits of the magnetic levitation vehicle, resulting in vehicle destruction and loss of life," Professor Mo explained. "That's why our Chuantian Group's manufacturing plant is one kilometer away from the launch platform, and we have equipment to reduce the electron pulses."

"I understand. Thank you, teacher." Zhang Jiajia smiled. "Teachers are teachers. They understand everything."

Two soldiers were guarding the entrance to Chuantian Group. Seeing Professor Mo's hovercraft, they saluted from a distance. Professor Mo found an empty spot in the parking lot, then got out with Wang Xiaohai and headed to the sales department.

The sales department was on the 77th floor of the group building. When the two of them were taking the elevator, Zhang Jiajia also ran over and squeezed into the elevator.

"Jia Jia, didn't I tell you to wait in the car before you came?" Professor Mo asked, pressing the off switch.

"I don't want to wait. I want to go and take a look too. I'm a customer too." Zhang Jiajia said, holding the handrail in the elevator.

"You are also a customer. Do you have money?" Wang Xiaohai felt that Zhang Jiajia's family should not have a lot of money, unless her father made corrupt money or accepted political donations.

Zhang Jiajia felt that Wang Xiaohai's tone was wrong. After thinking about it, she understood what Wang Xiaohai meant and said, "You're overthinking it. My father was a rich second-generation before he entered politics. My grandfather left him a listed company called Zhangjia Technology Company. It mainly deals in Internet computer systems and owns 20% of the Ludo Galaxy. It's richer than this Chuantian Group!"

"Really? If your father becomes the governor, will the market share of your Zhang family computer system increase several times?" Wang Xiaohai said.

"You're talking nonsense, my father is not that kind of person." Zhang Jiajia had just finished speaking when the elevator stopped with a "ding" and the doors opened instantly.

Seeing this, the three of them immediately walked out.

The sales department of Chuantian Group occupied the entire 77th floor. When the three of them came in, the manager was also in a meeting with several of his outstanding salesmen.

"Our goal is to sell twenty spaceships this year," the sales manager said. "That's our minimum. If you sell one more, your commission will be even higher. If we can't even sell twenty, I'll resign as manager. Of course, I'll fire you first before I resign. If you don't work hard today, you'll have to work hard to find a job tomorrow. Each of you will be assigned to work on two spaceships, and the rest will be mine."
