Mu Xiao raised his hand again and glanced at the time displayed on the terminal. Daryl, who invited him to this manor, was two hours late. It seemed that he wanted to show him his power.

He was sitting upright at first, but now he was leaning against the sofa with his arms folded across his chest, looking more like a host than a guest. Footsteps came from above his head, and he raised his head from his sitting position. A male insect with black hair and red eyes slowly walked down the spiral staircase.

With just one glance, he confirmed the other person's identity, because Alred and the bug looked very similar, but Alred's facial features were sharp, and his cold eyes carried a sense of distance, while the bug's eyebrows and eyes were more charming.

"Are you the female insect?"

The black-haired male insect's tone was very rude, and his eyes were filled with undisguised contempt. Mu Xiao was not angered, but instead thought seriously: "That's right, unless there is another insect in the world that looks exactly like me."

Daryl hadn't expected Mu Xiao to be so foolish. He got straight to the point: "There's no future for you and Alred. If you can leave wisely, I can guarantee that your future life will be worry-free."

"Alred and I are just a marked relationship, you don't have to worry." Instead of letting others poke at his sore spots, Mu Xiao decided to say it himself.

Daryl picked up the coffee from the servant's tray, took a sip, and continued provocatively, "Alred has his own mission. He must find a female insect of noble descent to bear offspring. Can an insect like you accept him being intimate with another insect?"

Mu Xiao frowned. He hated what Daryl said. It was like he was treating Alred as a tool without independent consciousness. He organized his words and counterattacked in the most plain words: "You completed the mission of Kaslot according to the rules and finally got what you wanted?"

"Are you really happy doing this?"

Daryl's hand holding the coffee trembled violently, and the coffee splashed out, soaking the pure white carpet. He looked at Mu Xiao's serious expression and suddenly remembered that many years ago, Qiao Nan also sat across from him and asked him, "Are you really happy like this?"

He forgot how he answered, he only remembered the black-haired female insect who had always been by his side and was famous for her perseverance. Her eyes were red and the tears in her eyes were sparkling in the light, but she still tightly grasped the flesh on the side of her hand to suppress her emotions and pretended that she was fine.

"You really don't care about Alred's sire?"

How is it possible? The outside world, including Qiao Nan, all thought that he approached him to give birth to Alred because Qiao Nan possessed the bloodline of the ancient insect mother. Only he knew the real answer.

Daryl realized how troublesome the female insect in front of him was. The questions she asked kept disturbing his thoughts and made him forget his original intention.

"Being stubborn will only hurt both sides." He put down the cup heavily, not sure whether he was talking to Mu Xiao or himself.

Mu Xiao thought he would be kicked out of the manor, but he didn't expect Daryl to prepare a guest room for him. He was worthy of being the owner of Castelo and had a really good attitude.

He took it back the next day, knowing exactly why Daryl kept him there.

"Excuse me, are you Mu Xiao?"

Mu Xiao was taking a nap in a rattan chair in the courtyard when he was startled by the sudden noise. He tried to calm his pounding heart and said to the female insect who had inexplicably spoken to him, "Yes, could you make some noise when you walk next time? It scared me to death. But, who are you?"

Decimus touched his nose sheepishly and explained why he came: "Excuse me, my name is Decimus. Uncle Daryl asked me to come and get acquainted with you in advance."

Mu Xiao pointed at himself with a confused look on his face and asked, "Why do you want to be familiar with me?"

"Uncle Daryl said that you are Alred's favorite female servant. If I become his queen in the future, I may have to live with you." Decimus was a little confused when he saw Mu Xiao's clueless look.

Mu Xiao understood. He tilted his head and asked with a half-smile, "Alred, do you know about this?"

"These kinds of things are decided by the family, and I don't know if Alred knows about it." Decimus realized that this female insect was not just a female servant. He didn't want to offend her, so he chose his words carefully.

Mu Xiao nodded. He hooked his legs on the chair next to him and slowly pulled it open, motioning the other party to sit down. Decimus held the back of the chair with his hands, not knowing what he was thinking. Finally, he said he had something to do and left.

He looked around but didn't see anything scary. Why did Decimus look so nervous? Did he look scary? He shrugged helplessly and shifted his posture in the wicker chair, waiting for afternoon tea.

"See? This female insect doesn't even care that you have a future female monarch." Daryl leaned on the railing and looked down at the female insect who was unaware of the situation in the courtyard not far away.

Alred pinned back his silver hair that was blowing in the wind, and slowly tightened his hand under his sleeve. He said coldly, "You are so childish. How come you have been going backwards these past few years?"

"It's okay if you don't care. I'll help you test it out in advance. Now you can rest assured. You can have both Kaslot and this Mu Xiao."

Daryl had long understood the male's nature. He always pretended to be magnanimous on the surface, but he was actually furious in his heart. He finally took revenge on this smiling tiger and the sharp-tongued female insect downstairs.

The ceramic plate collided with the glass table, making a harsh sound. Mu Xiao was not angry at this aggressive insect servant. Instead, he grasped the insect's wrist along the cold glass surface and put it to his lips: "Alred."

Alred knelt on one knee, resting his head on the female insect's thigh, and said gloomily: "Why don't you care about what Decimus said? Do you really accept the existence of other female insects?"

Without waiting for Mu Xiao's response, he suddenly held the female insect's hand and put it against his heart, his voice trembling a little: "Mu Xiao, I feel so uncomfortable here."

Mu Xiao picked up a strand of the male insect's silver hair and shook it gently, saying softly, "Because I know."

"Know what?"

"I know you won't easily accept the family's arrangements." I also know the disguise you put on to please me.

Mu Xiao did not say the latter sentence. He could tell what Alred was like from the reactions of the other insects before, but he liked the other party's double standards and was clearly aware of his own importance.

But he was also afraid of being treated as such because he was being treated as a joke. He was not a twisted person in terms of emotions, so he had to ask some questions: "Alred, besides our relationship as a symbol, what else do we have?"

Alred's body suddenly stiffened. Just when Mu Xiao thought he was just playing around, the male insect raised his head, a look of disbelief on his face, and accused him, "The mark I've placed on you is for life, not just an ordinary marking act. Don't you want to be responsible for me?"

This time, it was Mu Xiao who was stunned. What was this lifelong mark? After he traveled to the Zerg Tribe, no Zerg had ever taught him about this...
