Chapter 63 Transition

Chapter 63 Transition

So my brother should be back soon, right?

Feng Huaijin's eyes were glazed over, completely ignoring the wailing and howling that filled the training ground, which was now in punishment mode.

Even with the communication stones separating the Demon Realm and the Spirit Realm, messages cannot be sent out.

The days when I can't contact my brother are so hard to bear.

So when exactly is my brother coming back?

Feng Huaijin moved his foot and kicked the disciple who was trying to crawl out of the punishment training ground back.

They should be back soon, right?

He couldn't take it anymore.

Feng Huaijin then took out the communication stone and examined it over and over.

There's still no news.

[I'm back. ]

Feng Huaijin's eyes suddenly lit up. He barely remembered to instruct the other patrol team members to keep an eye on the area, but before he could finish speaking, the demon had already disappeared from the spot.

After changing his clothes in his room, he went into the neighboring yard, which was still empty and deserted, a place he couldn't get used to.

Feng Huaijin paced anxiously in circles around Su Yu's courtyard.

"Here it is."

A clear voice came from above.

Su Yu flew back from the exit of the rift on her sword.

On the way, I tentatively sent a message to Twelve to see his reaction, but it seemed to be a bit bad; I didn't receive a reply.

But when Su Yu arrived at her own courtyard and saw Feng Huaijin waiting inside, she immediately felt relieved.

Thankfully, the baby seems to be normal.

It seems that Twelve's mental health issues aren't that serious.

He's overthinking it.

But why is Twelve wearing such a tight-fitting outfit? Is he going to train or do a mission?

Su Yu jumped off her sword, sheathed the Frost Flowing Sword, and opened her arms to Feng Huaijin with a gentle expression.

"Twelve, it's been a long time."

Why is there no response?

Shouldn't we be hugging each other at times like this?

Su Yu slowly withdrew her hand.

Is this what it feels like to see your child grow up and become more mature? I feel a little disappointed.

“Brother,” the demon rushed up and hugged him, whispering, “I missed you so much.”

Once Feng Huaijin hugged her, he didn't want to let go.

He had just managed to restrain himself, but he still couldn't resist.

Su Yu hugged him once, feeling the hugging ceremony was complete, and patted Feng Huaijin's back to signal him to let go.

After asking Feng Huaijin if he had anything to do today, the two demons went inside to exchange ideas and share their experiences.

Before saying that, Su Yu gave Feng Huaijin a storage medal.

This was given to her by her martial aunt. When she asked Su Yu to choose a gift, Su Yu picked out a bottle of Cold Dew Liquid that could provide a high concentration of demonic energy, to use when she broke through.

But looking at her private stash, she felt that this junior disciple could use it, and that could also be given to her junior disciple. So she simply rummaged through a bunch of magical artifacts, pills, and potions that could be used even when one reached the Integration Stage and put them all into this storage badge and gave them to Su Yu. When they returned to the Demon Realm, the two brothers could decide how to divide them among themselves.

Then Su Yu picked out some things to talk about in the spirit world, and Feng Huaijin also told Su Yu about his situation.

They chatted late into the night, and since it had been a long time since they last met, they decided to sleep in the same room.

Although Feng Huaijin's courtyard was right next door, he certainly wouldn't say a word to remind his brother.

In short, Su Yu slept very soundly.

Having slept together for so many years, he was basically no longer wary of Feng Huaijin's presence around him.

Feng Huaijin opened his eyes skillfully, turned around, approached, and hugged him.

Only then was he satisfied.

The next morning.

Light streamed through the window, faintly illuminating the bedroom. Tiny dust motes appeared in the light, floating gently and slowly up and down.

Su Yu's eyelashes fluttered, and she woke up.

...That's terrifying.

He even dreamed that he was entangled by a mutated octopus, suffocated by corrosive ink, and died.

The giant, mutated, slimy, blackish-purple octopus with over a hundred tentacles that crawled out of the sea and onto land in the apocalypse was a nightmare he never wanted to think about again.

Thankfully, it turned out that it was Twelve who was holding him.

But why hasn't Twelve woken up yet?

I'm probably exhausted from this period of time; I was wearing comfortable clothes for getting things done yesterday.

Su Yu sat up, trying not to make any noise, turned her head to carefully examine Feng Huaijin who was still fast asleep, and raised her hand to help him close the open collar of his inner garment.

When did Twelve develop the habit of sleeping restlessly? Her clothes are all wrinkled and open.

Having done the good deed, Su Yu didn't disturb Feng Huaijin's sleep and got up to get dressed and wash up.

Although cleaning techniques can solve hygiene problems, Su Yu still prefers to wash with water herself.

The clear, unpolluted water always gave him a feeling of being truly alive.

As for breakfast, he flew to the cafeteria and brought it back.

The demons are true to their desires, and the Yuan Mansion doesn't mind satisfying their mere appetites. They have set up four large canteens, and if they get tired of the food, they can go to Yuan City to find some new dishes.

To be honest, because he had been wandering outside the base for many years during the apocalypse, the only food he was really good at was barbecue, which just happened to fool Hua Xian into thinking he was a master chef.

Eating barbecue for breakfast is indeed not a good idea.

Although they were all capable of fasting and not eating, Su Yu, who came from the apocalypse, couldn't accept not eating well when he had the means, so Feng Huaijin, whom he raised, also developed the habit of eating three meals a day.

As soon as Su Yu left, Feng Huaijin, who had been lying comfortably, suddenly opened his eyes.

His dark red eyes were gloomy, and upon closer inspection, there was a hint of frustration. He stared blankly for a while before finally sitting up.

The neatly closed collar was unfurled without hesitation by long, strong fingers, and Feng Huaijin lowered his eyes to examine it.

His muscle definition is solid and smooth; he has all the chest and abdominal muscles he should have.

The outfit I changed into yesterday was also a fitted style.

Actually, I prefer women, or rather, slender, pretty boys?

His lips tightened unconsciously. Feng Huaijin stood up with a cold and stern face and put on his wide-sleeved casual clothes. Unlike yesterday when he changed at the last minute, he no longer wore any fancy accessories.

She couldn't attract her brother.

They're all useless stuff.

The experience Hua Min provided regarding how she got engaged is completely unreliable.

Feng Huaijin stood there for a long time, his expression somber.

In the end, he chose a red tassel as a waist ornament, tidied himself up, and prepared to go out to find his brother.

Opportunity favors the prepared mind.

While dressing up nicely might not guarantee you'll win over a demon, not dressing up at all will definitely get you nowhere!

"You're up at twelve? I brought back breakfast. Shall we eat together after your morning exercise?"

Just as he stepped out of the courtyard gate, a dark silver stream of light descended into the courtyard; it was Su Yu, who had returned on his sword.

He was carrying a large, three-tiered square lunchbox in his left hand, enough for the two of them.

As soon as Su Yu returned, she noticed Feng Huaijin standing by the bedroom door. She assumed he had just woken up and extended an invitation.

“Alright,” Feng Huaijin’s dejected state vanished the moment he saw Su Yu. He straightened his back, his face softened, and a smile played on his lips. With a hint of excitement, he carried his sword and stepped into the courtyard.

Su Yu put the lunchbox down, not worried about the breakfast getting cold because of its heat-insulating properties, and stood to the side of Feng Huaijin with the Frost Flowing Sword in hand.
