Chapter 15 Auction Part 1
Five days passed quickly, and the Hua family's auction was held smoothly. Although there were no unparalleled rare treasures, it was held and concluded peacefully and normally.
Besides making a small fortune from selling the magical plants, Su Yu spent her free time meditating and cultivating, guiding Feng Shier in his literacy cultivation based on her own experience, or sparring with Hua Xian, and incidentally learning some basic spells similar to the Cleansing Technique.
Feng Shier's progress in learning to read and write was incredibly fast; in the modern world, he would probably be considered a true genius. He also absorbed demonic energy more smoothly, but his cultivation progress remained as slow as ever.
Su Yu remained relatively calm about the situation, even pondering what rare and precious materials could improve his aptitude. However, he was truly short of money, and he was already considering whether to learn alchemy or talisman-drawing and weapon crafting. The Hua family was generous, allowing Su Yu to read all their books except for the core manuals, though he still had to pay a few magic stones as a symbolic tuition fee.
But Feng Shier was genuinely unwilling to give up, and would often secretly train on his own behind Su Yu's back.
That day, Hua Xian finally escaped from the kitchen and sneaked over to Su Yu and Feng Twelve's courtyard, excitedly saying, "Today is the day of the Yu family's auction, let's go and watch the excitement!"
"Wait a minute," Su Yu said, glancing at Hua Xian with some surprise as she was putting a hairband on Feng Shier. "Your aunt agreed to let you leave the kitchen?"
Hua Xian took a small stool and sat down next to him, chuckled twice, but didn't answer the question. He simply said, "Go ahead, I have an invitation."
At this moment, Su Yu had finished tying Feng Shier's hair. He nodded in satisfaction and casually said, "Then let's go. This matter shouldn't affect us."
Anyway, judging from Yu Ronglan's well-thought-out plan, he probably wouldn't do it in public and leave himself with any leverage.
Just consider it playing along with the investors.
Hua Xian jumped up from the bench instantly: "Okay, then I'll have Mo prepare the car."
In such situations, one should pay a little attention to etiquette and not just stroll in as if it were a private auction.
Ignoring Hua Xian who was already walking away, Su Yu lowered her head and asked the quiet and well-behaved Twelve, "Twelve, do you want to go?"
Feng Shier shook his head: "I won't go. Brother and Young Master Hua should have fun."
Su Yu reached out and ruffled his head, almost messing up his freshly styled hair. He withdrew his hand guiltily and gently advised, "Alright then, take your time with your cultivation. Don't overwork yourself."
As he spoke, he took out a communication stone from his storage ring: "Remember to contact your brother if anything happens."
Sigh, Su Yao also has this thing, but she hasn't officially started cultivating yet so she can't use it. It's been gathering dust in her storage ring. After a while, she'll probably forget about it.
Su Yu thought with a touch of sadness, "It's all because of this lousy plot."
Feng Shier obediently accepted the communication stone, his eyes flickering. Who was his brother thinking about?
When Hua Xian was ready to call Su Yu, Feng Shier saw him out of the courtyard and watched them leave.
The smile on his lips gradually faded. Twelve turned around and went back to his room, neatly closing the door. He placed the communication stone on the bedside table, crossed his legs, and continued to cultivate and absorb demonic energy.
Meanwhile, Su Yu and Hua Xian rode in a monster-themed vehicle to the location of the Yu family's auction.
The carriage pulled by Yan Hu was taken by the head of the Hua family; the carriage they rode in was pulled by a unicorn.
Because of the special status of the Hua, Jin, and Yu families in Liuhua City, they, as representatives of the Hua family, were naturally led to the top-floor private room by a special person.
At this moment, Hua's father was already sitting in his seat, calmly drinking tea. When he saw his unlucky son sneaking into the auction with Su Yu, he merely glanced at him.
Hua Xian didn't stand on ceremony. After telling Su Yu to make herself at home, she found a seat and plopped down, casually picking up a snack from the small table and popping it into her mouth.
Since it's provided free of charge by the Yu family, why not take advantage of it?
Su Yu's eyes twitched slightly. After greeting the head of the Hua family, she sat down calmly.
The auction is about to begin.
The host has already given a welcoming speech on stage.
Su Yu listened drowsily to the host's extravagant praise of the auction items, and several items were quickly sold.
Just then, there was a gentle knock on the door, and a familiar voice came from outside: "Hello, would you like some tea or snacks?"
Su Yu immediately perked up and exchanged a glance with Hua Xian, who was also perking up.
Before they could even speak, Hua's father said first, "No need, we'll call for help if needed."
The voice outside the door respectfully replied, "Yes, Master Hua."
Immediately afterward, the sound of footsteps receding into the distance could be heard outside the door.
Hua Xian rolled her eyes and said, "Dad, it's too boring to stay here all the time."
Without even lifting his eyelids, Hua's father uttered a single word: "Release."
Hua Xian wasn't surprised. He stood up, gave Su Yu a wink, and said to his father, "Then let's go outside for some fresh air."
"Dad, you don't need to wait for us. We'll take the Warcraft Cart back when we're done playing."
Su Yu and Hua Xian quickly slipped out, leaving only the Hua family head in the private room.
He took another sip of hot tea and shook his head helplessly.
"You brat..."
On the other side, Su Yuhua and Xian discussed it and became even more certain that the servant who had spoken outside the door was Yu Ronglan, who had already infiltrated the area.
Yu Ronglan's substitute position seems to be a mobile one, providing service to guests who need it at any time. Judging from the architecture of the Yu family's auction house, Yu Ronglan should have gone further down the corridor, where the Yu family's private room is the largest one in the middle.
So, his next stop was the Yu family's private room!
Hua Xian looked around to make sure he was in the right direction, then had Su Yu follow him. He had been here a few times before and was very familiar with the layout.
The two acted as if they were genuinely out for a stroll, so the servants passing by in the corridor didn't pay much attention to them, assuming that it was just the young master of the Hua family taking a friend for a walk.
The door to the Yu family's private room was just ahead, and Su Yu and Hua Xian quietly slowed their pace.
Yu Ronglan was nowhere to be seen. Had she gone into the private room or already left?
As soon as the door to the private room opened, the two quickly retreated to the corner and hid, then poked their heads out to look in that direction.
A demon dressed as a servant was closing the door behind them.
Hua Xian was so excited he almost jumped out, but Su Yu quickly held him back. However, the rustling noise still alerted the servants who were preparing to leave.
He looked suspiciously around the corner.
When Su Yu saw his face, it was pale and handsome, a stark contrast to his previous appearance with his face covered in dirt and his long hair obscuring his face. No wonder no one in the Yu family recognized him.
Yu Ronglan frowned and strode towards them.
"Young Master Hua, Young Master Ajiu, what are you doing?"
Su Yu gave a polite smile.
Hua Xian scratched his head and looked around.
Yu Ronglan took a deep breath: "Nothing will happen at this auction."
“However,” Yu Ronglan’s eyes flickered, “I unexpectedly learned some news about you.”
"If you're interested, come with me."
