Chapter 13 Trading
Su Yu roughly calculated the amount of magical plants he had stored; he had become addicted to harvesting them and had accumulated quite a lot.
Let's talk less, otherwise it'll be too much. Let's save some for ourselves to spend slowly.
"There are Demon Grass, Red Spotted Fruit, Ice Crystal Flower..."
Su Yu rattled off more than a dozen kinds of magical plants and mentioned their grades.
"One hundred high-grade Yellow Rank plants, fifty low-grade Black Rank plants, and thirty mid-grade Black Rank plants."
Hua Xian was stunned for a moment before saying, "Did you pick these from the Dark Rose Forest?"
Su Yu nodded reservedly: "More or less."
"Goodness!" Hua Xian laughed heartily with admiration. "Alright, just hand it over to my trading company. It'll be perfect for a bundled auction."
"Don't worry, my Hua family's business is honest and trustworthy, and we are the most trustworthy."
"I'll just take a commission, two percent of the proceeds from the auction."
That seemed reasonable, so Su Yu asked again, "Approximately when will the auction be held?"
Hua Xian thought for a moment and replied, "The goods we brought back have been almost sorted and classified. A batch will be auctioned off in about three days."
"We'll go to the trading company first, hand over the magic plant, and you can just wait three days to collect the magic stones."
The three of them called on Hua Wu and left without hesitation.
Upon arriving at the flower and tree shop, Su Yu raised her hand, pretending to take out a magical plant from her storage ring, in front of the warm and considerate manager.
Upon seeing the actual product, the person in charge smiled even more sincerely.
Look at these magical plants, they're so fresh and vibrant, they're sure to fetch a good price.
"Don't worry, Brother Ajiu, leave it to us."
Seeing the person in charge happily calling for someone to bring boxes to pack the magical plants and take them away, Su Yu breathed a sigh of relief.
That's good. In three more days he'll have magic stones to use, so he won't be penniless in the demon realm.
Holding Feng Twelve's hand, Su Yu chatted idly with Hua Xian as they all planned to return to the Hua residence.
They had just stepped out of the shop when they saw a figure staggering toward them.
Is it urgent that you need to contact someone from the flower and tree shop?
Su Yu led the two demons to the side, intending to walk to the side to avoid being bumped into by that guy.
But the approaching demons changed direction, clearly targeting them.
Su Yu narrowed his eyes slightly, and Hua Wu stepped forward to stop the disheveled demon. Even Feng Twelve stood in front of him warily.
Hua Wu shouted sternly, "Stop! What kind of demon are you, and why are you coming at us!"
The demon, having been stopped, simply propped himself up on his knees to catch his breath before straightening up.
He lowered his head, letting his messy hair cover his face, and said, "I, my name is Yu Ronglan, the demon who was beaten at Kelai Restaurant before."
"Oh, it's you, kid. You actually got away." Hua Xian stepped forward impatiently and said, "How did you find us? What do you want with us?"
"Don't block our way if you have nothing to do."
Yu Ronglan remained silent for a moment, his hand gripping the hem of his clothes tighter and tighter. Taking advantage of the moment when Yu Bo was called away by the Yu family head, he seized the opportunity to shake off his followers and run away. As if by divine favor, he encountered the demon from the Hua family, and coincidentally, the demon was capable of making a deal with him.
He would never let this opportunity slip by.
After a long pause, he spoke again, his voice low, hoarse, and dry, skipping over Hua Xian's series of questions and getting straight to the point.
Are you interested in what Yu Bo is looking for?
Is this what Yu Bo wanted him to hand over? And it hasn't been taken away yet?
Su Yu and Hua Xian exchanged a glance, both recognizing the curiosity and eagerness in each other's eyes. Hua Xian stepped forward and gestured with her chin towards Rong Lan, saying, "I'm a little interested in hearing your story. Come on, let's find another place to tell it."
Hua Xian led the demons directly back to the VIP room that the Hua family had reserved for the Hua family at the Huamu Trading Company, so they didn't have to worry about their conversation being overheard.
The thing that Yu Bo is so eager to get, and even to avoid a major conflict with, is probably a good thing.
This room, exclusively for the Hua family, is decorated very differently from the outside. It features a fresh and gentle style, adorned with various green plants, and is said to have been personally overseen by the Hua family's matriarch.
"Alright, let's get to the details," Hua Xian said lazily, sitting on the comfortable couch, to the somewhat reserved Yu Ronglan.
The young demon, whose clothes were tattered and stained, and who looked disheveled, clenched his fists, suppressing the surging hatred in his heart towards the Bona group, and said, "I'll give you that thing, but you have to do me a favor. I know you can do it."
He'll make those beasts pay the price for daring to plot against his mother!
"Help you kill Yu Bo? That's troublesome. We'll have to see if your thing is worth the price." Hua Xian sat arrogantly, propping his head up with one hand, looking every bit the bully.
Su Yu acted as if she hadn't heard anything, focusing on feeding Feng Twelve the fruit and snacks prepared on the small table.
Although he knew that most demons liked to flaunt their status and power, he still couldn't help but feel a little itchy to fight when he saw Hua Xian's ostentatious manner.
Yu Ronglan took a deep breath and calmed down before saying, "There's no need for the Hua family to do anything. I just want to ask Young Master Hua to do me a favor."
"What Yu Bo is looking for is a fragment of a magical artifact that I obtained by chance. It has no grade, but it can absorb and store demonic energy in normal times, and can be used to extract demonic energy during cultivation and combat."
Hua Xian straightened her posture slightly and said, "Isn't this similar to a magic stone? It's just a fragment without any grade. Yu Bo would be interested in it?"
Yu Ronglan lowered her eyes and said softly, "Its capacity is even greater than that of a top-grade magic stone. My strength is too weak to have tested its maximum capacity yet, let alone this is just a fragment."
"If we gather all the fragments and repair it, it might be able to accommodate the amount of demonic energy stored in a Nascent Soul stage cultivator's body."
"This is much more convenient than magic stones. The only condition is that you do me a favor. What do you think, Young Master Hua?"
Hua Xian slowly shifted her gaze toward Su Yu, seeking her support.
Su Yu caught his gaze precisely and spoke at the opportune moment: "So, what favors do you want Young Master Hua to do for you?"
Yu Ronglan answered calmly, as if she had planned everything all along.
"The Yu family will be holding an auction in five days. I can't get in. I hope Young Master Hua can give me a position as an attendant at the Yu family's auction house."
"Your families have all planted a lot of spies among yourselves, so it shouldn't be too difficult for me to fill in, right?"
Finally, a deal was struck. Yu Ronglan took out a small cloth bag, pulled out a black fragment, placed it on the table, and pushed it toward Hua Xian.
It's about an inch thick, and looks like charred wood, but its luster and texture are as smooth as silk.
Hua Xian glanced at it twice, then casually stuffed it into the storage bag hanging on her waist, and also asked Yu Ronglan curiously what she was going to do by sneaking in.
The disheveled demon youth looked at him with a deep gaze: "Don't worry, it won't involve the Hua family."
Hua Xian scoffed, "Fine, don't tell me then." It was as if he really wanted to know.
After the brief conversation ended, on the way back, Su Yu casually asked Yu Ronglan about her relationship with the Yu family.
