Chapter 10 Wedding Ring

Chapter 10 Wedding Ring

After the last call, Old Nar gave Collis an ultimatum, requiring him to return to school before the next interstellar month. Now there is less than a week left until the next month, and Collis still has a lot to do.

One of them is to review the military academy courses that the original owner had missed. Now, Chris stays in his room every day and studies hard, day and night.

Fortunately, relying on the memories left by the original owner, he was able to catch up on most of the subjects in which the original owner had performed poorly last school year, which could somewhat alleviate some of the academic pressure after returning to school.

For several days, immersed in his studies, time unnoticed, and the day Nuhra had agreed upon arrived. The time Nuhra had previously texted was actually in the afternoon, but Chris had been unable to concentrate on reading anything since that morning. However, he refused to give up and forced himself to read a few more pages.

After reading a common problem several times and failing to solve it, Chris finally faced the reality, turned off the terminal in despair, and threw the electronic pen on the table in annoyance.

He first slumped down at the desk like an invertebrate, then abruptly stood up again, wanting to howl across the room. Finally, his remaining sanity overcame the urge, and he slumped back onto the soft seat.

I never thought I'd be able to experience the intense last-minute cramming of finals week at a modern university even after traveling through time. It felt so familiar… Chris thought with a wry smile, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He sat in his seat for a moment, then, after recovering, he breathed a sigh of relief. He reached out and rubbed his face furiously, finally sobering up a bit.

He still had the thought of meeting Nuhra in his mind. He took the terminal from the table, turned on the screen to confirm the time. The numbers on the holographic screen reminded Chris that it was time to go out for the appointment.

Chris originally wanted to just wear some comfortable and decent casual clothes to go out, but the moment he left the fitting room, he remembered that today was the day he and Nuhra were choosing their wedding rings, and for some unknown reason he went back to change his clothes.

A tailored crescent-white college-style jacket, a misty gray knitted sweater underneath, and fitted beige thin pants of a similar hue to the jacket... Chris, who considers himself to have average aesthetic taste, was very confused about the various clothes in the cloakroom. In the end, he accepted the advice of the smart butler and changed into his current outfit.

He turned left and right in front of the mirror, examining the slightly pale black-haired young man in the mirror. He was a little surprised at himself. He looked like a completely different person... Corris's slightly cold temperament and his slightly sharp appearance were neutralized by his simple and elegant clothes, adding a bit of gentle and soothing intimacy.

Chris spent a long time in the cloakroom and it was a little late when he went out. In the end, he arrived a little earlier than the agreed time.

The same android waiter from that day was still standing in front of the elevator at the Sky Tavern. He watched from afar as Chris got off the car, a perfectly curved smile on his face as he stepped forward to show Chris the way. "Mr. Chris, it's a pleasure to see you again... Admiral Nuhra is already waiting in the box."

Chris was relatively calm this time. The engagement and the teaching assistant issue had come to an end for the time being. Studying like an ordinary student, which was painful but beneficial, also made him forget many of his worries for a while... In short, he gave a kind smile to the android in front of him with a sincere heart.

He was led to a familiar private room. Just as he watched the waiter leave, Nuhra opened the door from the inside. Caught off guard, Chris bumped head-on into the man standing in front of the door, momentarily stunned.

The other party was not wearing a military uniform today, but casual clothes. Although the color was dull gray, it was more in line with Nuhra's personal characteristics than the regular military uniform... and for Kris, this outfit was quite impactful.

Nohra's shoulder and neck lines are full of explosive power, perfectly supporting this lead-gray tweed coat with a distinct drape, and the vest of the same color and material wraps around his slender and powerful waist.

The white shirt underneath was not worn properly, but with the top two buttons undone... His slender and powerful legs were wrapped in silk trousers that reached down to his ankles.

After just one glance, Chris didn't dare look again. He lowered his head awkwardly, his bewildered gaze fixed on the man's exquisitely crafted, dark-patterned leather shoes. The bar was clearly a pleasant temperature, yet he felt an inexplicable heat welling up inside him. He unconsciously tugged at his loose collar, trying to cool off.

Facing each other, Nuhra subconsciously glanced at Corris's whole body. He saw the young man in front of him with evasive eyes and lowered his head in panic. He also noticed that Corris's red earlobes were exposed from his soft black hair because he lowered his head... He seemed to understand something and suddenly let out a chuckle from his throat.

"Please come in." There was still a smile in Nuhra's voice. He turned sideways and made a "please" gesture, inviting Chris to come in first in a gentlemanly manner, and then walked forward, parallel to his side.

Chris nodded slightly and walked slowly into the box. He looked around cautiously and found a large square metal safe opposite the bar.

Nuhra followed Corris's gaze towards the box and then took the initiative to introduce it to him: "These are wedding rings sent by several jewelry suppliers in the capital star. We can choose together."

Kris nodded naively and followed Nuhra to the bar. Nuhra tapped quickly on the safe's top, and the metal box automatically folded and reorganized itself, revealing a jewellery box filled with matching rings of all shapes and sizes.

Under the bright lights in the box, all the jewels reflected brilliant brilliance, and the sparkling pearls were enough to make people unable to take their eyes away.

Needless to say, Kris, who had lived the vast majority of his life at the level of an ordinary person, was completely stunned the moment he saw so many jewels. He froze in place, instinctively reaching out to block the blinding light... This box full of rings could buy countless of him, right?!

Nuhra casually picked up a pair of diamond-studded wedding rings and tried one on. He casually raised his hand, opened it to the light, and examined it for a moment. He seemed unsatisfied, then took off the ring and put it back in its place.

"Don't just stand there, Kris." Nuhra turned around, a smile visible on her face, and called him over. "Come and choose, or I'll make the decision."

Kris, waking from a dream, suppressed his shock and walked over to Nuhra's side, turning his gaze to the various designs of the wedding rings before him. He didn't like overly complex and ostentatious designs, and instead chose a pair of plain rings without any decoration on the surface.

Although there are no special diamonds or other embellishments on this ring, its white silver material allows it to emit rainbow light under the light, which is exquisite enough for Corris.

Kris put it on carefully and held his hand up to the light to check it out, just like Nuhra. Nuhra said nothing, but silently observed his reaction and then turned her gaze to Kris's hand wearing the ring.

"This is made of cloud silver stone. This mineral is not produced in high quantities, but it is very popular among the nobles of the capital planet." Nuhra also put the other ring on her finger. "This style is quite good, simple and low-key."

"I think this one is pretty good," Chris said cautiously. He was inclined to choose this one directly, but he was not sure what Nuhra thought.

"Then let's take this one." Nuhra did not comment, and directly instructed the smart butler to put away the other rings for him. He did not take off the ring on his hand, but put it on and walked to the sofa in front of the huge glass window and sat down.

After a moment's thought, Chris decided to take the ring off and put it back in its separate box. He took the box and sat down in the chair next to Nuhra.

"I'm not sure I'd like to wear this ring publicly for now," Chris said, choosing his words with an awkward expression. "I'm worried it might cause some unnecessary trouble."

"It's up to you. You can wear it as a pendant and wear it directly on the necklace." Nuhra waved her hand in a relaxed manner and suggested.

He pointed to another teacup on the table and beckoned Chris to have some tea: "Relax, if you keep being so timid with me, who would believe that we are really married?"

"Thank you for your advice..." Chris shook his head helplessly. He knew that what Nuhra said was true, but he still needed time to adapt to the impact of "marriage".

"If you want to adapt, just stop using honorifics in private." Nuhra looked at Corris and said meaningfully, "You can just call me by my name, or address me as 'you'."

Corris glanced at Nuhra with a complicated expression and said in a whisper, "Okay, uh... Nuhra."

Nuhra was amused by his reserved demeanor, but he didn't say much, instead moving on from the topic. He looked at Corris quietly, then remembered something and asked seriously, "What were you talking about with Old Nar the other day?"

When he mentioned this, Corris recalled Nuhra's sudden appearance before Old Nar ended the call that day... He answered honestly, "Nothing. I was just discussing returning to school with my father."

Nuhra looked at him intently, as if trying to determine if Corris was lying. After a moment, she continued, "Do you need to tell Old Nar directly about our marriage?"

Chris thought clearly and shook his head. "No need. I'll tell him I want to be your assistant teacher... He doesn't need to know anything else."

Nuhra nodded, agreeing with Corris's choice, and said with a smile, "Your father's attitude is really interesting. He treats his own son like an enemy..."

"You...saw everything?" When Corris heard him say this, he guessed that Nuhra must have seen the whole process that day.

"I don't have the habit of greeting my colleagues proactively." Nuhra put the teacup in her hand back on the table without commenting.

"...Thank you." No matter what, Nuhra's actions at that time helped him out of the predicament, and Chris should express his gratitude.

He paid attention to Nuhra's movements and saw her take a sip of tea. His mouth felt dry after talking for a while, so he followed Xiaoxiao in sipping the fragrant scented tea.

Nuhra glanced at Chris casually and asked, "Are you planning to live on campus after you return?"

Chris had already made up his mind to live as far away from Nar's house as possible, and he would definitely choose to live on campus. He lowered his head and continued to sip his tea, nodding in affirmative response to Nuhra's question.

But he didn't expect Nuhra to say something earth-shattering right afterward: "After returning to school, if you have a day off, you can stay at my house... just as a way to cultivate your relationship?"

As soon as Nuhra finished speaking, Coris choked on the tea he had not yet finished drinking, and he coughed violently without caring about his image.
