Chapter 15 Class

Chapter 15 Class

When Chris got off the shuttle bus and walked back to his and Lauren's room with a shaky step, he really couldn't say a word.

"Good evening, Lauren." Chris, dying, weakly greeted Lauren who was reading in the small living room.

"Oh my God! Chris, what happened to you?" Lauren was frightened by Chris's battered appearance. She put down the electronic textbook in her hand, walked up quickly, and asked worriedly.

"It's nothing serious, I'm just a little tired." Kris raised his trembling hands with all his strength and said with a forced smile, "I'll go back and rest first..."

"Ah...Okay, go back to your room." Lauren looked even more worried. He wanted to help Chris, but after hearing what Chris said, he couldn't rush forward to help. He could only watch Chris's staggering back anxiously.

"Hiss..." As Corris closed the door, he accidentally pulled at his already fragile and exhausted muscles, the excruciating pain nearly bringing him to tears. He slowly climbed onto the bed and pulled out his terminal. Seeing it wasn't too late, he tried to browse the Star Network for a bit, just to have some fun.

He had just opened StarNet, and the front-row news was Nuhra's appointment as a visiting professor at Vincent Military Academy. Seeing the name in the headline, Chris's eyelids twitched, his fingertips paused, and he clicked on the content with an inexplicable feeling.

As soon as you click on it, you will see a photo of Nuhra with the senior management of Vincent Military Academy. Nuhra, dressed in neat military uniform, stood with the senior management and took a very ordinary group photo.

Nuhra's eyes were calm, and the naturally upturned corners of his mouth inadvertently gave him a hidden sense of friendliness. His military uniform was buttoned, the collar high and straight around his neck, and his leather combat boots were polished to a spotless dust.

For some reason, looking at the meticulously dressed Nuhra in the photo, Kris couldn't help but recall the day they chose a ring. His casual yet refined outfit, the loose buttons, and the iridescent silverstone ring on his bony finger...

Chris subconsciously glanced at the hand in Nuhra's photo; it was empty. Chris chuckled, his voice unclear, and reached for his necklace through his pajamas. The slightly rough feel of his wedding ring gave him a new sense of the practical implications of marriage.

After a while, his eyelids drooped uncontrollably, and Corris's eyes fell into complete darkness, and his mind fell directly into sleep...

"Tick-tick-tick-tick-" The rapid and regular sound of the alarm clock, accompanied by the morning light, woke up Chris, who had fallen into a deep sleep early last night.

Chris rolled around in bed for a while, finally sat up in a daze, and began to look for the source of the alarm clock in bed.

He squinted his eyes and fumbled for a while, and finally successfully found the terminal he had lost in the quilt.

"Ah!" His still-struggling brain, after seeing the time displayed on the terminal, forced his computer to turn on. He'd overslept by over twenty minutes! What was he supposed to do?!

The current situation did not allow him to delay any longer. Chris got out of bed in a hurry, not caring about his tense and aching body, and tidied up his basic housework as quickly as he could in his life.

When Chris pushed open his bedroom door like a gust of wind, Lauren's bedroom door across from him was still tightly closed. He guessed that Lauren, as a student of medical logistics, should have a different course schedule than a student in the combat unit like him...

He didn't have time to think about anything else. He simply packed the leftover energy bars from last night's dinner into his bag, quickly left the dormitory, and headed for the nearby elevator. As class time drew closer, the usually calm Chris couldn't help but feel anxious.

While Chris mobilized his already overloaded limbs to run wildly, he kept praying in his heart, hoping that he could catch a shuttle bus... After finally reaching the elevator, Chris happened to encounter the moment when the elevator door was about to close!

He subconsciously shouted, "Wait!" The sound was so desperate and so sad.

Before the intelligent system could react, the people inside the elevator reacted and frantically pressed the door-opening button. Finally, at the last moment, the elevator door opened again, revealing a frightened boy standing inside, his hand still on the settings screen.

Chris entered the elevator panting, and the kind-hearted man with reddish-brown curly hair also gasped - he was scared by Chris.

"Brother, what's wrong with you?" The curly-haired boy quickly returned to normal and asked with concern, "You're going to be late, right? Oh, I understand." He suddenly realized and looked sympathetic.

When Corris finally took a few deep breaths and was able to breathe smoothly, he replied in a hoarse voice: "Yes, I overslept..."

"It's okay, haha... It's the beginning of the new school year, it's normal not to get used to it." The boy laughed heartily, his curly hair fluttering a few times, without a trace of anxiety about being late on his face.

He took out his terminal, glanced at the time, and felt more confident. He continued to comfort Chris: "It's still early. If you follow me downstairs now, you'll just catch the shuttle bus... Oh, by the way, what grade are you in?"

Seeing the other party's calm appearance, Chris felt relieved for the time being and wanted to communicate with him: "Third year, I think you look like a student of the Technical Maintenance Department?" Chris took a look at the other party's navy blue military uniform and asked.

"Hmm..." The boy's eyes rolled around, as if he was thinking about something. "I'm also a third-year student. Hey, what's your name? Oh, I'm Ian Javier."

"Hello, Ian..." It had been so long since Corris had traveled through time, and it was rare for him to meet someone who was so talkative. He felt a lot more relaxed during the conversation. He was just about to introduce himself when the elevator reached the first floor.

"Hurry, hurry, the shuttle bus is coming!" The elevator door had just opened," he didn't even have time to finish his words, Ian directly grabbed the still unresponsive Chris and rushed out with all his strength. Chris's fragile legs staggered a few steps.

"Wait! Didn't you say there was no rush?" Chris didn't expect things to suddenly turn out like this. In the chaos, he only had time to ask in collapse.

"I did say I could catch up, but that doesn't mean I don't have to run, right?" It was obvious that Chris was the student who truly belonged to the Operations Department, but he couldn't outrun Ian from the Technical Maintenance Department. Ian even had the energy to finish a sentence!

Chris almost fainted after hearing Ian's righteous words, but since he had already boarded the other party's pirate ship, he had no choice but to follow him.

Fortunately, Ian hadn't boasted. As they rushed to the shuttle bus stop, it slowly pulled in. Since most people had already arrived at the classroom, the bus wasn't crowded, so Chris and Ian found a seat.

After the two sat down, they were silent for a long time. It was unclear whether they were in a daze or reviewing the thrilling class experience... Anyway, Ian was the first to react and asked in confusion, "Hey, brother, what's your name?"

Kris also remembered that he had not introduced himself yet, so he cleared his throat and said, "I am Krisnar."

"Huh—" Ian took a deep breath when he heard the name of Chris, his face full of shock. "Are you the Chris?"

Hearing this, Corris frowned calmly. The smile on his face disappeared for a moment, but soon returned. He chose to be cautious and test the waters: "Oh? You know me?"

"I've heard of you." Ian seemed completely unaware of Kris's abnormality and continued to speak on his own. "Well, it's just some rumors... but you are not what they say you are!"

Chris was stunned for a moment, not expecting Ian to say that. Ian looked back at him with a straight face, confirming his judgment: "You don't look crazy, you seem quite normal..."

Chris was speechless for a moment, but he was curious about what rumors Ian had heard from others. Knowing Ian was straightforward, he didn't bother with subtle hints and simply asked directly, "Can you tell me everything you've heard? I'm really not sure what they're saying about me."

Seeing that Chris had taken the initiative and asked him questions, Ian, no matter how socially awkward he was, realized how rude he was. He smiled awkwardly and said vaguely, "They're not good words, and there's no need to know them... Anyway, I know you're a good person now, and I'll speak up for you!"

Ian became increasingly passionate as he spoke, even patting Chris on the shoulder with great pride, and said righteously, "Brother, even if I have to hack into the intranet, I will tell everyone in the school that you are a good person!"

Chris was at a loss for words, but he appreciated Ian's kindness. He found him quite interesting and approachable, so he decided to make friends. "Thank you so much! Could you please add a terminal? Let me know when you're done. I'll definitely reward you handsomely."

Ian's train of thought was indeed a bit strange. His first reaction was: "Ah, I was just kidding..."

Seeing this, Corris could no longer hold back and said with a smile, "I know, I was joking too - but I'm serious about adding the terminal."

Ian opened his mouth and responded haltingly, "Ah? Oh...oh, I see." He subconsciously stroked back his fluffy curly hair, took out the terminal, and happily added Chris's contact information.

After chatting for a while, the shuttle bus arrived at the teaching building where Chris was taking classes. Ian's teaching building had not yet arrived, so the two said goodbye. Chris glanced at the time on the terminal and rushed to the classroom without stopping.

When he finally reached the classroom, there was only one minute left before the class started. Unfortunately, he ran into the professor at the door...

Even more unfortunately, this class was a flight training course, and the professor in charge was Lori Feng, the same teacher who had taught the original owner, Chris, when he tried to commit suicide using a training plane.

When Professor Lowry ran into Corris head-on, he was shocked at first, and then immediately showed an expression of disgust, as if he did not expect to meet this student who had harmed him so much.

He glanced at Kris with disdain and said sarcastically, "Krisnar, you must pay close attention in your flying lessons this semester and don't cause any more trouble during the practical training."

The class bell had already rung, but Kris was still blocked outside by Professor Lowry. Professor Lowry took the opportunity to give Kris a warning: "You're late on the first day of school, and your regular marks will be deducted!"

His voice was so loud that even the other students in the classroom could hear it clearly. For a moment, the classroom and the outside of the classroom fell into a terrible silence, and everyone was waiting to see Chris make a fool of himself.

Chris took a deep breath and suppressed his anger, not wanting to get into trouble on the first day of school. He lowered his head and took the initiative to admit his mistake to Lori: "Sorry, Professor, I will pay more attention next time."

Lori snorted coldly and walked straight into the classroom without saying anything. Chris followed him in and tiptoed to the last row to take a seat.

He sat down in frustration, feeling that Professor Lowry would never let him go.
