Cartoonist who died suddenly
Feng Zaoche sat at home, staring at the diary in front of him in silence.
"That's right, you are a student who is about to enter the High School of Curse." System 920 introduced him enthusiastically, "When you were young, you encountered a life-threatening situation brought by a cursed spirit. You lost your loved ones and became able to see them, but you didn't tell anyone."
He was determined to avenge his family, but he didn't have the talent to become a sorcerer, so he had to bankrupt himself and bribe a well-connected big shot to get this opportunity to study.
"This character has a lot of plasticity." Feng Hayato commented, "He can join the positive side by taking the redemption and healing route, join the negative side by taking the blackening and degeneration route, or join the neutral side by taking the both good and evil route. All of these are very good."
"I have prepared a talent package for you that is enough for you to become a sorcerer. As long as you, the prospective host, agree to bind yourself to me, I can install it on you immediately." 920 tried to seduce.
"What quality of talent package? Is he a peerless master or a loser?" Feng Zaoche would not be fooled by it.
"It's not good to be a peerless master, because you're easily targeted by others. It's not good to be a street rookie either, because you're easily treated as a fool." 920 didn't know where he got this line of speech from. "So, the talent package I carefully selected for the host is one that follows the doctrine of the mean - a mediocre route!"
The wind already hummed dejectedly, as if it didn't want to pay any more attention to it.
He was a professional cartoonist who died suddenly after working all night to finish an extra chapter for his readers. When he woke up again, he was here.
According to the self-proclaimed System 920 and the fragmentary but complete memories of the original owner, the worldview here can be said to be extremely dangerous. After all, monsters are born from the negative emotions of humans and can never be completely eliminated.
If you can't become a sorcerer, there's a risk of being killed easily. If you become a sorcerer, you'll have to deal with them every day, and you might die faster.
The system was still chirping in his ear, advising him that Feng Zaoche had just recovered from a sudden death and didn't have much energy. Hearing this, he asked back, "So you think that with this kind of talent, I can live past thirty... Oh no, three words?"
"If I die, what's the point of you working so hard to recite the sutras here for half a day?"
What he meant was, there's something else going on, tell me quickly.
920 hesitated for a moment and said, "It's like this. I detected that the prospective host was a cartoonist with a good reputation and good character in the original world. Even when he was in the hospital receiving an IV drip, he insisted on writing the outline of the next chapter. During the serialization period, he also gave up almost all entertainment activities..."
Such a long mat is generally not a good thing.
"Prospective host, have you ever heard of the term 'creation'? As long as your act of creation is shocking enough, and perfect enough without jumping out of the ordinary, you can gain unparalleled power of the law, and even the highest-level cursed spirits will be helpless against you!"
Kaze Hayateru: “……?”
Such ability cannot be without a price. The level of judgment on the behavior of entrepreneurs must be more complicated than he imagined. But if he has this golden finger...
"As long as the prospective host's creative behavior reaches a certain level and unlocks the state of settling down, he can continue to draw the series in your world as a fan." 920's voice unconsciously became much lighter. "The 'Kaze Hayateru' in that world is already dead, but has not been discovered yet."
He can't go back.
Feng understood what 920 meant and remained silent for a long time.
"Okay, I promise."
…
Ignoring the long list of 920s that he kept mumbling to himself, Feng Zaoche flipped through his diary several times. After making sure that he had memorized the details, he took out a piece of paper and a pen from the side and wrote down some possible key points that he had deduced based on his professional training.
《Creator's Rules and Regulations ver. 1.0 version - Draft》
1. A character that is attractive enough to make readers like some aspect of him/her, whether it is strength, appearance, or personality, regardless of whether he/she is a good guy or a bad guy.
Second, the setting of scenes and plots cannot be too abrupt. For example, when a character is fighting in a park, you cannot draw a meteorite smashing him/her into another world and killing him/her. This will be so absurd that readers will think that you are writing a spin-off of another paro, which will reduce the sense of trauma.
3. It is best if the plot you create is something that the reader believes is impossible to happen to him/her, both in terms of the plot and the ending.
These three points have already covered many aspects, including but not limited to the heroine of the daily romance comic being seriously injured, and the combat power of the hot-blooded fighting anime collapsing with each episode becoming stronger than the previous one.
From the author's perspective, we can list more behaviors, such as the author being extremely partial, adding crazy buffs to a certain supporting character, making all other characters become foils; the author is addicted to games/light novels/does not want to draw, and thus stops updating...
"920, how do you judge the behavior of a creator? Do you need me to start a comic series or...?" asked Kazehaya Toru.
"All is fine. The easiest way is probably for you to tell it directly." 920 stopped talking. "Well, how about we go to a more lively place to see if there are any weak curse spirits to practice with?"
Oral.
This is not a solution. I hope people around who hear this will not think that this is a mentally ill person wandering the streets and call the police to have him arrested.
After adjusting his appearance in front of the floor-length mirror and making sure he looked like a proper 14-year-old boy, Feng Zaoche packed his money, keys, umbrella and other necessities into his schoolbag and headed for the nearest commercial street based on his memory.
This place was not much different from his original world. Even Feng Zaoche's face and name were no different from before. If it weren't for this fourteen-year-old body, he would almost think that nothing had happened.
Today is not the weekend, and it is two o'clock in the afternoon, so there are fewer people on the commercial street than expected.
Feng Zaoche wrapped the scarf around his neck. This was the root cause of the disease the original owner suffered after the incident. His body was much weaker, but it was still within the normal range.
"Welcome!"
He picked and chose, and finally chose a supermarket. After pushing the shopping cart around aimlessly for several rounds, his eyes settled on a mother who was holding her daughter.
A worm-like black sludge was coiling around her arm, and she was completely unaware of it.
Feng Zaoche frowned and followed the mother and daughter inconspicuously.
"You live such a happy life, with lovely children, a husband who loves you, a wealthy family, a satisfying job..." The worm-like thing spoke in a very standard villain voice.
Even if you hire a voice actor, you need to add some reverberation.
"She accidentally fell and dropped the cursed spirit to the ground, where it died." Feng Zaoche said quickly.
No response.
"Host, would you please speak louder?" 920 suggested.
"Do you want me to rush up and shout, 'Evil cursed spirit, I am the god of Fengyan who represents justice and light. Today I will punish you for all the sins you have committed. If you don't retreat quickly, you will be punished?'" Fengyan Toru asked it back.
"Host, how did you manage to recite such a long list of shameful contents without any hindrance? You are indeed an all-round cartoonist who has dabbled in many fields!" 920 said passionately, "Why don't we go up and give it a try!"
Feng Zaoche: “Haha.”
No matter how much you laugh at me, we still have to do our work.
Feng Zaoche walked up and talked to the young mother.
"Your mother is in a bad mood because of a conflict with her colleagues at the office. Do you want to buy her a gift?" She pondered for a moment, led Feng Zaoche to a nearby shelf, pointed at the sign, and said, "If money is not a problem, you can buy her clothes, or go to the food section over there to buy her some food she likes..."
"Auntie also has conflicts with her office colleagues. Don't worry, it's probably not a big problem."
She looked at the handsome and slim boy in front of her, rubbed his head, and soothed him in a gentle voice.
Feng Zaoche agreed obediently, watched the mother and daughter go away, and prepared to gamble again.
"The office colleague who had a conflict with her tossed and turned at home all night, thinking that she shouldn't and couldn't treat her gentle and kind friend like that. The colleague suddenly had a strong desire for a good working relationship because she heard that the new leader who was parachuted in took workplace conflicts very seriously and she didn't want to lose her current job."
"During their interactions, her colleague discovered her kind side. She was able to repay evil with kindness even though she had reformed herself but had ulterior motives. Within just three days, her colleague was convinced and no longer had any negative feelings towards her. We all worked together to maintain a good working environment. Happy ending."
The worm let out an unwilling roar, struggled to disappear from its mother's arms, and returned to dust.
The law is established.
"Host, how did you come up with this idea?" 920 asked while cheering.
"Whitewashing a villain is a technical job." Feng Zaoche said succinctly.
There are only a few possible routes: giving the villain a tragic enough past/life experience to make readers sympathize with him; having the villain and the good guys interact and do things that benefit the good guys, such as letting the bad guys go because of his own subjective will at a critical moment; the villain suddenly realizes the evil of his past actions and atones for the crimes he committed before.
These are all options, but if you are not careful, you can easily fall into a trap.
For example, his unabashed whitewashing is the opposite of the third example above.
At this moment, the readers have already regarded the villain as an enemy who needs to be "attacked", and the author quickly whitewashes it and tells the readers that they are actually a loving family, so don't criticize them, they are all good children.
Feng Zaoche's fists hardened just by thinking about it.
After this problem was solved, the people around him did not notice that he had read it out loud. Feng had already breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to go home.
Well, I have to go out a few more times to buy daily necessities and constantly look for targets to experiment with, so that I can perform stably when facing the cursed spirits.
And he also needs to find a way to get information about the world of sorcery so as to effectively disguise this ability. Otherwise, it will be just like what 920 said before, people who stand out are the easiest to be targeted.
The villains have thorns in their eyes, the decent people are jealous, and sometimes even the people who should least betray them will betray them. Isn't this a fate that is so ridiculous that it makes people's teeth chill?
