Chapter 3 Your Shiro killed someone!
When Ye Chutang came out, it was just getting dark. The last batch of herbs in the yard had been neatly collected by Ye Jingyan. Fragrance wafted from the kitchen, and Ye Yunfeng could be vaguely seen waving a shovel wildly.
Ye Chutang sighed softly.
Ye Jingyan has been sensible since he was young and never gave her any worries, except for Ye Yunfeng, the little bastard who often got into trouble outside. However, every time, before she got angry, he would start working diligently, leaving her with a punch like hitting cotton.
But he was also a great cook, which made Ye Chutang even less angry.
The four siblings sat together for dinner. Ye Yunfeng looked at Ye Chutang cautiously: "Sister, you are not angry with me anymore, right?"
Ye Chutang looked at today's exceptionally sumptuous dinner and thought that this child was not raised in vain.
In the beginning, she didn’t know how to cook, but she raised her three children and went through a difficult period that was hard to recall.
She really had no talent for cooking and hadn't made any progress over the years. Later, the fourth child took over the task on her own initiative, and the family was able to eat normal meals.
"I wasn't angry in the first place." She said, picking up some food for the little girl beside her so that she wouldn't have to reach it with her short arms. "I just think it's troublesome."
The Cao family is difficult to deal with, otherwise she wouldn't have planned to take the initiative to apologize.
Speaking of trouble...how could you forget that there is a bigger trouble at home?
Ye Chutang narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking of the sword that the follower named Lian Zhou had swung during the day.
When the sword was unsheathed, it was extremely sharp and could cut through iron like mud. It was no ordinary sword.
More importantly, his moves were sharp and ruthless, and the fierce murderous intent that overflowed from him at that moment - he had definitely killed someone before!
Either he is a soldier who has been to the battlefield, or he is a specially trained secret guard. In short... the master who can go out with such an follower is obviously not a simple person.
Ye Chutang had a headache.
How did I end up provoking such a troublesome person?
…
At night, when Ye Chutang just returned to the room, he saw a small bulge on the quilt.
"Xiaowu? Where are you?"
Ye Chutang deliberately didn't look over there and walked around the room.
After a while, the little kid couldn't bear it anymore, so he suddenly lifted the quilt and smiled brightly at her.
"Okay, so he's hiding here!"
Ye Chutang went over and picked up the little girl, pinching her soft cheeks deliberately, "Let's see who goes to bed without washing their feet!"
The little kid quickly stretched out his two little white feet.
——It doesn’t smell!
Ye Chutang took her away and carefully washed her face and feet. Looking at the small bed specially made by a carpenter next to the bed, he hesitated for a moment, and then stuffed her back into his quilt.
The little kid succeeded, blinking his eyes and biting his hand while laughing, looking so cute.
In fact, she is already four and a half years old this year. Ye Chutang wanted to sleep in a separate bed, but he never succeeded.
When Ye Chutang was first reborn, Xiaowu was just a one-year-old baby. Later, the family encountered misfortune, and Ye Chutang acted as both a sister and a mother, keeping her by her side every day. After three years, it had become a habit for her to rely on her.
Xiaowu is particularly attached to her.
Ye Chutang fell asleep quickly, but it was not a restful sleep.
She had a terrible dream.
In the dream, a carriage was driving on the official road. The wind was cold and the snow was flying. The fields in front and behind were desolate. The sky was gloomy and covered with dark clouds, which seemed like they would collapse at any time.
She snuggled up to a woman in her thirties, who helped her tie the collar of her cloak again, held her hand, and whispered softly, "Why are Ah Wan's hands still so cold? It will be fine after we get to Wuzhou in a few days."
The woman was holding a baby in her arms.
Sitting opposite was a man in green brocade clothes. He was very thin and had straight shoulders.
He smiled apologetically and said, "Li Niang, I'm sorry to have made you suffer following me."
The young man sitting next to him raised his eyebrows and smiled: "Ah Wan, you see that A Yan and A Feng are not as afraid of the cold as you! When we get to Wuzhou, you must follow them and exercise well!"
The two young boys huddled together and made faces with pride.
Ye Chutang opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but found that he couldn't utter a word.
The next moment, a sharp black arrow suddenly shot into the carriage!
Duh!
Ye Chutang's heart was in suspense.
Run! Quick—
There were flashes of swords and sabers, and the vision in front of my eyes gradually blurred. My mother was protected in my father's arms, and my eldest brother stood in front of her with eleven arrows on his back.
"Ah Wan..." Blood kept flowing out of the corners of his mouth, "Take them... take them... well, well... to live..."
She couldn't scream as the warm, sweet blood splashed on her face.
However, the next moment, the scene changed, the wind and snow disappeared, the lanterns on the streets swayed, the crowds of people crowded, and the willow branches by the river swayed in the wind.
Xiaowu was running in front holding a lantern. Ye Chutang was planning to chase her, but suddenly he felt something and turned back abruptly, and saw a flash of a sharp knife at the end of the dark alley!
Ye Chutang suddenly opened his eyes!
She sat up and found that her forehead was already covered with cold sweat.
She glanced at the person beside her and luckily the little kid was not woken up by her.
Ye Chutang breathed a sigh of relief, but the feeling of dying in the dream was still vivid, making it difficult for her to calm down for a long time.
In fact, she hadn't dreamed about those things in the past for a long time. She thought that with the passage of time, the memory would gradually become blurred, but obviously, it didn't. Instead, it became clearer with the passing of time.
She touched her face and still felt as if it was burned by blood and was painful.
She sat quietly in the darkness for a long time before she let out a long breath and murmured softly.
"...That man is so unlucky!"
I had lived a peaceful life for such a long time, but I had such a dream on the first day I met him!
If his follower hadn't been so fierce, she wouldn't have thought about the past and couldn't even sleep well.
Although he looks good, he is not a very good person - it's a bad omen!
It's better to get rid of him as soon as possible...
Ye Chutang didn't think about the second half of the dream and lay down to continue sleeping.
Unexpectedly, the next morning, there was a commotion outside. I didn't know who was banging on the door, accompanied by crying.
"The Ye family has killed someone! They have killed someone!"
Ye Chutang's sleepiness disappeared instantly.
She glanced out the window, then quickly got dressed and stood up.
The little girl was also awakened and subconsciously clutched her clothes, her eyes panicking.
Ye Chutang touched her little face.
"Sister, you'll be back soon. Xiaowu, wait here obediently, okay?"
The little girl nodded obediently and reluctantly let go of his hand.
When Ye Chutang walked into the yard, he saw that Ye Jingyan and Ye Yunfeng had also heard the noise.
The three of them looked at each other, none of them knowing what was happening outside.
Ye Chutang looked at Ye Jingyan: "Ah Yan, take good care of Xiao Wu. Ah Feng, wait here. I'll go out and take a look."
Ye Jingyan was worried, but still nodded, turned around and walked quickly towards Xiaowu's room.
Ye Yunfeng wanted to follow him out, but Ye Chutang stopped him in his tracks with a glance.
Then she walked over, unbolted the door, and pushed it open.
A black coffin was placed in front of the main entrance of the Ye family. Mrs. Cao from Cao's Restaurant was wearing a white cloth on her head and had red and swollen eyes. She lay on the coffin and cried loudly.
The surrounding area was packed with people watching the fun.
Ye Chutang's heart sank: "What happened?"
When the woman saw her, she was even more grief-stricken, pointing at her and shouting at the top of her lungs:
"How dare you ask! Your Ye family's fourth son killed my son!"
