Chapter 43 A Chaotic Wedding Day (Part 2)

Lady Jing'an felt a little short of breath and her vision blurred. She almost lost her composure and attracted attention, but thankfully she managed to keep her composure.

...Only his once dignified, elegant, and kind smile now looked somewhat ferocious.

"What exactly happened!" Suppressing her shock and anger, Lady Jing'an asked through gritted teeth.

Knowing the urgency of the situation, Granny Cai only told the most important details: how Jiang Xuelin had escaped her marriage and who was currently waiting to be married in her boudoir. She quickly informed Lady Jing'an.

Lady Jing'an, upon hearing this, was speechless.

Nothing else matters now. The most important thing is to quickly find the daughter who was born to come and collect her debts, away from the crowd. We must avoid attracting attention if possible.

She could imagine the uproar that would ensue in the capital if outsiders knew that the bride had run away on her wedding day.

As for the heir apparent of the Prince of Ping, who also ran away from his marriage to her daughter, Lady Jing'an no longer had the mind to be angry or care.

There's no time to worry about that now. Whether the Prince of Ping's heir runs away from the marriage is a matter for the Prince of Ping's family. In any case, her daughter absolutely cannot take the blame for this.

The world treats men and women differently. Both were runaway brides, and she could imagine what her daughter would face, and what the Prince of Ping's heir would face.

Lady Jing'an went to the female guests' side, leaving the task of entertaining the guests to her eldest daughter-in-law. She instructed Lady Lu, as the wife of the heir apparent, to entertain the female guests with her second daughter-in-law. Lady Jing'an herself made an excuse and went to the back, saying that she was going to see her daughter.

Everyone understood Lady Jing'an's reluctance to part with her daughter's upcoming marriage, so no one made fun of her. Everyone had a daughter, and even those who didn't remember their own weddings. They smiled and comforted her that the Prince Ping's residence was in the capital, so she could see her daughter whenever she wanted.

Lady Jing'an maintained her smile and then left.

Jiang Xuelin's second sister-in-law, Han, didn't seem to notice anything amiss; she simply joined her eldest sister-in-law in entertaining the guests. However, Lu noticed something was wrong and looked in the direction where the Lady of Jing'an Marquis had left with some confusion. But she quickly concealed it and didn't reveal it.

After leaving the public eye, Lady Jing'an, with a gloomy face, strode towards the backyard.

She tried to keep smiling, but she just couldn't maintain it.

Marquis Jing'an was originally greeting guests and accompanying the male guests at the front, but thinking that his daughter was about to get married, he couldn't help but come over to take a look, and that's when he happened to see his wife.

Startled by his wife's expression, Marquis Jing'an was also somewhat puzzled. "Madam? What's wrong? Although I'm reluctant to see Lin'er get married, isn't this a joyous occasion? Why the expression?"

"If you ever miss Lin'er in the future, I will take you to Prince Ping's residence to see her."

So please don't make that face on such a joyous occasion.

Upon hearing this, Lady Jing'an glared at him fiercely, and as she passed by, she muttered under her breath, "Marriage? What marriage? Your daughter ran away! It's all your fault for spoiling her!"

"Although I have indeed spoiled Lin'er a bit in the past, Madam, you also..." Halfway through his sentence, Marquis Jing'an suddenly realized what his wife had said earlier, and his expression froze. However, by this time, Madam Jing'an had already walked quickly towards the backyard without stopping at all.

...His daughter, his beloved, has run away?

Lady Jing'an had already gone to give instructions on the secret search for Jiang Xuelin. She shared the same opinion as Hongluo: it would be best to find Jiang Xuelin before she left the city. There were many people in the city, and she would have to avoid them, so her speed would not be fast. Once she left the city... the sky's the limit, how could she expect to find her?

The wedding procession will arrive in a little over an hour!

After arranging everything, Lady Jing'an went to Jiang Xuelin's boudoir. As soon as she entered, she saw Qingluo looking at her nervously. Qingluo breathed a sigh of relief when she realized it was her, but her face was still very pale and her forehead was covered in cold sweat.

Qingluo immediately knelt down.

Unable to see the green ivy outside, and unsure of who was coming, she dared not rashly lift the veil, though her body trembled slightly.

"lady……"

"You girls are really loyal. I'll settle the score with you later!"

Upon hearing Lady Jing'an's voice, Green Luo immediately got up and knelt down, not daring to say a word or defend herself, saying that Jiang Xuelin had stuffed the wedding dress into her arms and run away, and that there was nothing she could do.

There was no other way; they should have informed Lady Jing'an Marquis immediately, instead of waiting until now.

"Alright! Green Ivy, stay here to avoid attracting attention. When people come, Green Ivy, tell them that you're wearing makeup today and are worried about smudging your lipstick, so you can't speak. Granny Cai, take Purple Ivy and get the spare phoenix coronet and wedding gown. We'll put it on Lin'er as soon as she comes back!"

Enraged to the point of liver pain, and too lazy to reprimand the few loyal but reckless maids, Lady Jing'an gave a cold order.

When making Jiang Xuelin's wedding dress, Lady Jing'an knew how prone her daughter was to accidents, so she hesitated for a while and still prepared an extra set of the wedding dress for her, just in case something unexpected happened.

Aside from her family, I doubt anyone else would prepare two wedding dresses for their daughter.

However, Lady Jing'an was extremely glad that she had been so farsighted; otherwise, she would never have allowed her daughter, Lin'er, to go out wearing the phoenix coronet and wedding gown that Green Ivy had worn.

She was furious, but she also knew that the responsibility for this matter did not lie with Green Ivy, who had replaced her daughter and was sitting here waiting to be married, but with her daughter, whom she had worried about a lot since she was a child!

I wonder where that girl went. Has Hongluo found her yet? If she had known that Jiang Xuelin was so bold, Lady Jing'an would never have been so careless!
