Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Mermaid Building.

This is the tallest commercial building in the Imperial Center. The building is constructed in the shape of a mermaid, elegant and beautiful. The top floor simulates an ocean setting, housing a group of beautiful mermaids who can sing melodies according to the guests' preferences.

It is said that the mermaids' chants have a calming and aphrodisiac effect, which is why they are so popular with male insects.

The top floor of the building had been completely cleared out. The waiter insects were carefully arranging expensive flowers transported from other star systems, occasionally glancing at the window.

“Marshal.” Dick stood behind Celt.

The Mermaid Building has a great view, facing the majestic royal palace, the power center of the entire capital planet, decorated in a magnificent style, where the resources plundered by the Zerg from all over the universe converge.

It is majestic and cold, requiring countless blood and bones to pave a path to reach it.

Now, his hand rested on the cold door.

The mermaid sang a poignant and melodious tune, the number one recommended song, which was said to bring peace and happiness to the delicate male insect, thus relaxing him and sending him into a sweet dream.

A song costs 300,000 Star Coins and lasts for 15 minutes, burning 20,000 Star Coins every minute.

On a distant, desolate planet, an orphaned female insect receives two thousand star coins a month in emergency aid, while a female soldier receives three thousand star coins a month in retirement benefits. The little male insect named Hill survived on such meager allowances.

He probably had never heard a mermaid's song.

He remembered the little thing from last night, who, exhausted, curled up into a ball and burrowed into her tattered military uniform, so uneasy, with beautiful, fragile tears welling in her eyes.

"Marshal, His Highness the Second Prince's aircraft has arrived."

Dick's voice interrupted his recollection.

Celt headed to the top of the building, where the deep blue sea surged, and the transparent walkway extending out from it meandered like the tentacles of a jellyfish. The two halberds representing the royal family were crossed, and blood rained down from beneath them, their colors as vibrant as roses.

This represents the bloody wars that led to the founding of the empire and the weapons wielded by the first founding insect emperor.

As the aircraft crashed down, a male insect with long, light golden hair landed gracefully.

He had sapphire blue eyes, fair skin, a slender figure, and long, unkempt golden hair that looked somewhat nonchalantly disheveled in the wind blowing from the top of the building.

All the female insects present were amazed.

Sirius, the second male insect prince of His Majesty the Insect Emperor, is a rare S-class male insect in the empire. Although he is surrounded by rumors, he has never officially acknowledged any female insect.

"Good afternoon, Your Highness Sirius."

The marshal bowed and extended a hand in greeting, his crisp military uniform taut, revealing a powerful presence.

Sirius glanced at him, but instead of taking the marshal's hand, he darted down and jumped down, his golden hair flying through the air.

The insects around him reacted with varying expressions to this obvious rejection, but the marshal ignored it and stepped forward again to walk alongside Sirius.

Sirius raised an eyebrow and smiled, “Marshal, we seem to have met before. Five years ago, when Nuka was attacked, we hadn’t yet thanked you for your rescue.”

Celtic stepped forward and gentlemanly pulled out a chair for the male insect, waiting for him to sit down before returning to his seat: "It's my duty."

He immediately reached out and picked up the folded sheet on the table and handed it over: "Your Highness may request your favorite music."

Sirius, who was used to flirting, twitched at the straightforward description of the female insect. He slammed the sheet down on the table, then smiled elegantly as if he had just thought of something.

"What's the point of listening to music? Let's open a bottle of laureate and drink."

This wine, supposedly brewed by some strange race, is worth ten million star coins per bottle. There's only one bottle in the entire Mermaid Tower, kept as a talisman.

It's not that I can't come up with ten million star coins, but buying a flying vehicle, a mech, or even just gems is always better than buying a bottle of wine.

This male insect is deliberately picking a fight and making things difficult for the other insect.

The marshal's cold, hard features remained unchanged. With a powerful outstretched arm, Sirius almost thought the marshal was going to attack, but the marshal merely gestured for wine, as if the credits he had earned through bloody battles were completely insignificant here.

A waiter with his head bowed approached carrying an expensive bottle of wine. He began to open the bottle and pour the wine for them, but for some reason his hand seemed to tremble slightly, and a little wine spilled out.

A single drop is counted in units of tens of thousands.

Sirius suddenly hinted, "The Marshal seems to have forgotten something."

To arrange a date with a male insect, you need to prepare an expensive gift. Although the wine we just had was expensive enough, that's not important.

"I have prepared a gift for Your Highness, and I hope you will like it."

The marshal took out a small silver box, and as the combination lock opened, a dazzling brooch inlaid with a deep green color was revealed inside.

This brooch is very ornate and perfectly matches Sirius's flamboyant personality.

but--

"This is the Forest of Memories? I remember the Marshal photographed Eternal Fall?"

Selt maintained his serious and calm expression: "An accident occurred during the carving of Eternal Fall, so it cannot be delivered on time. I have chosen a more suitable gift for you."

Sirius reached out and closed the box, a playful smile playing on his lips as he leaned back in his seat: "Marshal, you'd better not let me find it on other male insects."

"I accept the gift. Marshal, you are busy with official duties, please go ahead."

They get their hands on expensive items and immediately send the guests away without leaving any room for negotiation. Anyone who sees this will call them heartless scoundrels.

The marshal rose, saluted, and, finding no fault in it, wished His Highness a pleasant evening before making a swift exit.

Only after the marshal's figure had completely disappeared did Sirius sigh and laugh, "Truly a perfect queen who is flawless in every way."

"Power, generosity, and most importantly, magnanimity—the ability to turn a blind eye even to one's own student's affair with one's future ruler. Don't you agree, Yolanda?"

"You don't think the Marshal didn't recognize you, do you? Hmm?"

The waiter insect beside him was already unable to stand, and a strange buzzing sound came from all around. His hands were supporting him on the table, and his face showed an unbearable look of shame.

"You shouldn't humiliate the Marshal like that..."

“That won’t do. Little Hill will be sad if we get too close.” Sirius shook his head, sighed helplessly in a low voice, and then smiled mischievously.

How could a precious gem worth 100 million yuan be lost without reason?

He believed that he would soon see Eternal Fall appear on Little Hill's body, and he would use this bottle of wine and this diamond as a way for the marshal to please his future brother-in-law.

"Your Highness, what are you saying...?" Yolanda's vision was already blurry, and she did not hear Sirius's soft, murmuring laughter.

"None of your business." Sirius's expression turned cold, and he scoffed, "Isn't Your Excellency the Lieutenant General supposed to be on a combat mission this afternoon?"

At the bottom of the Mermaid Building, a waiter respectfully handed over a silver box, saying it was reserved in advance by the Marshal.

Dick was somewhat puzzled. He opened it and saw a delicate blue conch shell inside, from which he could faintly hear singing.

This is a very popular service at the Mermaid Building. Many female insects, unable to afford expensive mermaids to sing live, will buy a conch shell to preserve the song for their male offspring or a male they like.

Is it for that male insect, Hill?

Was this some kind of compensation from the Marshal because his identity prevented him from appearing in the public eye? Or was it something the Marshal specially purchased for him because he had been suffering from insomnia and anxiety lately?

Initially, the male insect was only used as a transitional tool, and it would be destroyed after its use.

Does a tool destined for destruction deserve such care and protection?

Dick had a vague sense of unease.

——

The mournful song echoed in his ears. Hill rested his chin on one hand and held a conch shell in the other, gazing at the vast universe through the transparent glass.

Behind them, the StarNet was broadcasting a loop of the Second Prince's date with the Marshal, and it was said that he had given expensive treasures as gifts.

"It seems the Marshal hasn't given me any gifts yet."

Hill muttered to himself. He had prepared many gifts for the marshal, but because he was now a poor male insect, he was unable to give them away.

How can you expect the marshal to give you a gift when you've never given one yourself?

Hill sighed, as if the glass in front of him was the misty blue sea-like glass of the top floor of the Mermaid Building.

He expected the marshal to meet him at the Mermaid Building and spend a wonderful night together.

Why can't it be myself?

What happens after the date? My brother is a male insect with a relatively open mind. If he asks the Marshal to accompany him, will the Marshal agree?

Yes, no, yes, no...

Soon the plants by the window met their demise.

At night, the little male insect's communication device rang. The marshal was about to answer it when it was disconnected. It rang again, but the marshal had no intention of answering it. Sure enough, the communication was disconnected again a second later.

It looked like a timid little male insect secretly probing something.

The marshal waited until the third hang-up before dialing back. There was no sign of insects in the simple room. The small communication device was searching around. The marshal simply turned on the projector.

The marshal's tall figure was projected into the room, his gaze quickly sweeping across the room before finally settling on the wardrobe at the very back.

There was a small gap there, and a white shirt was stuck in the gap.

The robotic insect struggled to push open the wardrobe.

Inside were several pieces of old clothing that the marshal hadn't taken with him, and now the room was filled to the brim with a beautiful little male insect, like a gift eagerly awaiting its unwrapping.

He curled up in the marshal's wardrobe, wrapped in the marshal's clothes, the loose collar revealing a section of his fair collarbone, his slender neck moving slightly, and the marshal's uniform between his legs.

The stark contrast between her overly pale skin and the cold, hard black of her military uniform was striking.

The little male insect groaned softly, its eyes welling up with what seemed like sweat or tears.

The marshal opened the cabinet door, and blinding light shone in. The optical projection was so advanced that the insects couldn't distinguish between reality and illusion.

"marshal......."

The little male insect's beautiful eyes lit up, and it tried to pounce, but missed, its forehead hitting the cabinet door squarely.

The marshal knew clearly and calmly that even reaching out his hand would not prevent the little creature from being hit, but he still subconsciously stretched out his insect claws.

"Hmm..."

The young male insect, hurt from the impact, frowned slightly in pain, but his eyes never left the marshal.

This infatuated behavior pleased the marshal.

The marshal's gaze deepened, and he extended a hand, his voice growing increasingly low as he succinctly commanded, "Open your mouth."

In his bedroom on the capital planet, the marshal took off the gloves issued by the military.

The little male insect obediently opened its mouth, revealing neat, white teeth and a section of bright red.

He let the virtual light and shadow probe into his mouth, as if the marshal's feverish, stiff fingers were counting his teeth one by one, pinching his tongue, and going deep into his throat.

Even just imagining it, he let out a soft "hmm" and obediently licked and kissed the marshal's hand in the air as if trying to please him.

Without the marshal's order, he never closed his mouth, and clear liquid dripped from his parted lips.

So good.

The marshal's eyes were as dark as pitch black. He spread his fingers, wanting to explore more, but he could not touch the warm mouth. It was just an illusion. After the marshal finished playing with it, he took his hand out.

The virtual hand remained clean and neat, while the little male insect's clothes were a mess.

The marshal's virtual hand lifted the little thing's chin, looking down at him.

"Gust said your pheromones are fluctuating wildly, what's going on?"

The little male's voice was slightly hoarse, and because of his posture, his beautiful eyes were filled with the image of the marshal: "Um... I'm sick... It's pheromone deficiency."

Pheromonemia deficiency usually occurs in sub-adult males that have not yet undergone a second stage of evolution. Adult males generally do not exhibit this symptom. Marshal frowned.

The little male insect reached out and tentatively grasped the virtual arm of the marshal. His eyes were misty as he pressed his beautiful cheek against the marshal's transparent arm, rubbing it against it. Even though the virtual projection had no warmth, he still felt a longing for it: "Because I miss the marshal so much..."

I thought about a pheromone imbalance.

Adult males can also exhibit this symptom, usually after mating when the male becomes overly dependent on the female.

However, this condition usually occurs more in female insects. If it appears in male insects, it means that the male insect is very fond of the female insect or that the pheromone compatibility is very high.

“I saw you asking Gust about my preferences on the local network.”

This was a calm narration, yet it instantly turned the already dazed little male insect's ears bright red. The marshal had noticed—

"yes......."

She was shy, but she couldn't lie to the marshal.

The marshal gently stroked the little creature's cheek with his thumb, his voice slightly hoarse: "You want to ask me what I like? Why don't you just ask?"

The marshal commanded, "Come here—"

Ask yourself.
