Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Warm blood dripped down his arm, wetting the cuffs of his military uniform.

Brandon instinctively stood in front of the camera to prevent the flying robot from capturing images that shouldn't be there.

Hesen unscrewed the healing potion with one hand and poured it onto his arm. He then tore off the blood-stained glove and wiped the blood off his arm with a handkerchief. His movements were slow as he pondered.

Celtic is still in his absolute prime, and no insect can surpass him for at least the next twenty years. He has no chance of winning in a head-on confrontation.

This was a preliminary rehearsal. Even with the assistance of many female insects, he still failed to win. When the battle for the Insect Emperor and Insect Queen takes place, his chances of winning will be even slimmer.

Unless, of course, the war is not limited to direct confrontation.

He pondered for a moment and walked steadily toward the aircraft on the open ground. Nathaniel stood on the aircraft, and during takeoff, the fierce wind whipped up the male insect's long golden hair, making it flutter like a flag.

“You can’t even do this little thing right! You’re so useless!” Nathaniel stood in front of the hatch, looking down at him with a frown, his tone extremely unfriendly, like a powder keg ready to explode.

"I'm sorry, my lord, it was my fault." Hesen placed his hand on his chest and knelt down swiftly.

His response was a loud bang as the aircraft's hatch slammed shut, and the aircraft kicked up dust as it left the primeval forest.

Without being ordered to get up, Hessen kept his head down and remained motionless in a standard kneeling position.

"...I don't know why I feel a little sad, even Lord Hesen feels this way."

When faced with a noble male insect, one usually has to abandon everything and wag one's tail to beg for mercy in order to gain the right to survive.

"Stop being so sentimental. That's a Grade A male insect. At least Lord Hesen doesn't have to worry about mental rage or paralysis. He'll live much longer than us."

"That's true, sigh."

"My God of Insects, isn't Marshal Celtic tired? His points are still rising!"

One point is earned for each female insect killed. Marshal Celtic's points began to rise steadily from dawn. He was like a killing machine without any pause, and his points had terrifyingly surged to four digits.

In other words, he brushed away over a thousand female insects in the past day.

The artificial satellite hovered high in the sky, and Hessen stared silently at the ground stained with blood.

It was a sleepless night. Not only was Hesen, who was punished by kneeling for his poor performance, unable to fall asleep, but also a group of insects were forced to snap out of their fervor with the male insect prince.

The only reason I was able to come to my senses was because I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. The aircraft would take away one group and immediately load another. During the competition, no one was seriously injured, but there were plenty of people with minor injuries, fractures, or serious injuries.

Hill sat in a hammock. It wasn't as high as the treehouse, but it was grounded. He wasn't wearing shoes, with one foot touching the ground. The artificial moonlight shrouded him in a cool veil.

Eric stood to the side, unsure where to look, and could only awkwardly stare straight ahead. He had been keeping his head down, but His Highness's outstretched foot completely blocked his view, making him afraid to lower his head at all.

Eric is a powerful and short-tempered female insect. When Hill first went to pick up the Marshal from get off work, she heard him roaring outside the training room. His voice was so loud that it could blow off the roof of a floor. She never imagined that he would be in such an embarrassing situation.

"Does Celt trust you that much?" Hill suddenly asked, his voice tinged with amusement, after all, he was allowed to get this close.

The male insect's voice flowed past Eric's ears like a clear spring, striking his heart.

“I sparred with Marshal Celtic yesterday, and I lost.” Eric clenched his fists, his voice hoarse.

The marshal's request was that while he dealt with the pursuing female insects, he could closely protect Prince Hilgard so that the prince would not be disturbed by the other female insects.

He couldn't defeat the marshal, but being able to get closer to His Highness was still a good thing, even though he no longer had the chance.

A soft laugh suddenly reached my ears, and the moonstones adorning the male insect's mane shimmered in the lake's reflection.

He seemed curious: "The female insects are all like Your Excellency, Major General..."

Hill paused, seemingly choosing his words. Eric's heart felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand. How would His Highness Hillgard describe him? He was already starting to get nervous.

Hill noticed his unease and couldn't help but smile. Even though they were far apart, it felt as if a gentle breath was being sprayed on Eric's ear. The male insect's voice was low in the night: "Will you keep your promise as well?"

The StarNet immediately erupted in chaos.

"Your Highness is quite the angler!"

"Major General Eric is very fortunate!"

"Has Your Highness taken a fancy to Major General Eric? Is he implying that the Major General doesn't need to keep his promises so readily?"

"Is this a test of whether the Major General loves His Highness more or keeps his promise more?!"

"Aaaaaah, Eric, you blockhead, get down here and let me take your place! What promises! I choose Your Highness! Of course, it's Your Highness!"

"Poor Marshal Celt, he's still fighting a bloody battle outside, but his subordinates have already hooked up with His Highness, and his base has been raided. If the Marshal comes back and sees Major General Eric and His Highness like this, he'll probably be splattered with blood. Marshal Celt seems to be mentally unstable after fighting for so long."

"Although it's a selection of a female ruler, His Highness the Male Insect still has positions for female attendants. Major General Eric, seize this opportunity!"

Not only the female insects on the StarNet, but Eric was also stunned. He wasn't that stupid; he seemed to sense that His Highness had a hidden meaning, yet also seemed not to. He raised his head uncertainly.

Under the moonlight, Prince Hilgard, dressed in a white robe, with delicate dark patterns that seemed to flow with silver light, sat in a hammock, resembling some kind of energetic being in the universe known for its beauty.

Eric's breath hitched, his ears burned, and he unconsciously took a step, wanting to get closer to the beautiful male insect.

Just then, a rustling sound came from underground, and the once smooth lawn seemed to come alive and began to float, startling Eric out of his dazed state.

"Your Highness! Be careful!" He was a step too slow; the strange fluctuation stopped beside Hill and then burst forth from the ground.

It was a female insect with well-developed forelegs, strong and slightly flattened femora, and broad and hard tibiae with four sharp, flat teeth at the tips, forming a digging pattern that allowed it to move at an extremely fast speed in an attempt to take Hill away. The moment its strong forelegs touched the hem of Hill's clothes, a sharp insect claw pressed him down.

The jet-black insect armor, gleaming with a chilling light, relentlessly pressed the insectoid creature that had burst from the ground back down, inch by inch.

The female insect's half-insect neck cracked, releasing streaks of blood, followed by a scream.

"I surrender!"

With a flash of silver light, his points were directly transferred to Celtic, but that wasn't the end of it; Celtic forcefully shoved him into the ground.

The female insect dared not utter a word or step on the ground, and trembling, she dug her way out through the excavated tunnel using her broken shell.

The StarNet members who had been watching the whole thing were hissing in disbelief: "Luckily, the selection rules forbid killing insects. Major General Eric, you'd better pray for yourself..."

"May you have good fortune +1".

Celt's insectification had not been completely reversed. His emotionless, cold gaze fell on Eric, causing Eric to feel a stinging pain all over his body. He stopped in his tracks, feeling short of breath.

He didn't speak again, silently bowed, gritted his teeth, and turned to leave with heavy steps.

The Zerg are a place where strength reigns supreme. He couldn't defeat Marshal Celt, so he could only watch helplessly...

"Major General Eric left the stage in a sorry state, looking quite like a defeated dog."

"Is Marshal Celt being too arrogant? It should be His Highness's decision who serves him, not the Marshal's. Isn't this disrespectful to His Highness the Male Insect? @Male Insect Protection Association, what are you doing?"

The StarNet was noisy and chaotic, but the next moment a cold, mecha-like hand suddenly approached, took control of the camera, and the world fell into absolute silence.

"??? Why is the camera off?"

"What is it that I can't see?"

"What does Marshal Celt intend to do to His Highness? @Male Insect Protection Association? Are you all just sitting around doing nothing? Your Highness, we want to see His Highness—"

However, Hill and Celt were unaware of the explosive noise on the StarNet. In the silent world, only the two insects faced each other. The black insect armor covering Celt's face, hands, and neck began to dissipate, revealing his normal skin color and deep facial features.

He leaned closer abruptly. Celt was extremely tall with broad shoulders, blocking out the cold moonlight: "You can ask me anything you want to ask."

There's no need to ask Eric.

Hill did not back down. He smelled blood, but it wasn't strong. Celt had actually washed up before coming to see him, washing away the heavy smell of blood.

His collar was still wet, stretching out a taut line.

Because of his height and posture, Hill had to raise his head slightly, his expression carrying a hint of sarcasm: "When has the Marshal ever kept his promise?"

"Which one is Your Highness referring to?" Celt's Adam's apple bobbed, his heart pounded, and his pheromones were emanating uncontrollably. This intense jealousy stemmed not only from Eric's slight proximity but also from the fact that his mind was on the verge of a violent outburst due to the continuous high-intensity combat.

Hill clenched his fists, bracing himself on the hammock, his eyes filled with even more sarcasm: "Six years ago, outside the Nuka Forest, the Marshal has probably long forgotten, hasn't he?"

Six years ago, after the incident on Planet Nuka, the little male insect was reluctant to part. He gently held the hem of the female insect's clothes and asked, "General, what is your wish?"

The female insect, who was then a general in the First Army, replied, "I hope you are safe."

The young male insect whispered in a barely audible voice under its respirator, "You will get what you want."

From then on, no matter how hard or tiring it was, Kang Fu never gave up. He took good care of himself and worked hard to grow up safely until he was able to stand up and come to the side of the female insect like a normal male insect.

As it turned out, everything later proved that the female insect was just lying to him.

When has Marshal Celtic ever kept his promises? The promises he most wanted you to keep, you never kept, and you are the one who hurt him the most.

Celt's throat bobbed, and his hand gripping the hammock tightened suddenly, the veins on the back of his hand faintly showing. He suddenly lowered his head and pressed his ear to Hill's ear, the hot breath making the male insect's fragile skin tremble slightly.

"My wish has always been for your safety." The female insect's voice was deep and resolute in the dead of night, enough to convince any insect. Six years ago, Hill was deceived in the same way.

Sadly, this time he was telling the truth, but the male insects will no longer believe him.

Celt dismissed all other thoughts and placed his burning palm on Hill's abdomen: "Your Highness, are you in pain?"

The sole of the foot that was touching the ground suddenly curled up.
