Chapter Thirty-Seven: The Cloud Palace
Gu Qi looked at her intently, then grabbed her hand tightly: "If I break the God-Locking Curse, you'll run away immediately, right?"
"I……"
He gripped her too tightly, and Han Wei instinctively tried to break free.
“Weiwei, you have many secrets. I knew that from the first day I met you, but you’ve never told me any of them all these years. If I break the God-Locking Curse, you’ll do everything you can to disappear without a trace, so I won’t be able to find you, right?” Gu Qi’s eyes were deep and dark, with unseen vortexes in their depths.
"So, your liking me means binding me to your side?" Han Wei's voice was filled with anger.
Gu Qi gazed into her dark eyes, and after a moment, released her hand. He said, "If you dare to swear, swear by your Dao heart, that you will stay by my side for the rest of your life, I will now break the God-Locking Curse for you."
He stared intently at her, and she met his gaze.
Finally, Han Wei turned her head and flew down from the eaves.
Gu Qi didn't move; he was on top of her, staring at her back.
Han Wei didn't leave immediately. She stood on the ground with her back to him, the moonlight stretching her shadow long.
After a long while, Gu Qi looked away and gazed at the starry sky.
Han Wei turned around and saw him gazing at the starry sky in a daze. She gritted her teeth and made a decision in her heart.

Three days later.
Yuanyang Tower is a restaurant in Yuexing City, famous for its spirit wine. Today, having nothing to do, Han Wei and her apprentice Gu Qi came here for a stroll and unexpectedly ran into acquaintances. Upon reaching the top floor of Yuanyang Tower, they encountered Wen Kexing and his apprentice Wen Chun.
"Fellow Daoist Wen, what a coincidence," Gu Qi said with a smile, cupping his hands in greeting.
"It's Fellow Daoist Gu!" Wen Kexing cupped his hands in greeting, forcing a smile onto his usually stern face.
Wen Chun was still resentful about Han Wei defeating her. The moment she saw Han Wei, she glared at her with an unfriendly expression, as if she wanted to fight her again. Han Wei thought that if their respective masters weren't with them, this little girl might already have attacked her.
"What are you doing in Yuexing City, Fellow Daoist Gu?"
"I bought a cave here hundreds of years ago, and these days I've been living here with my little apprentice."
"I see."
Wen Kexing chatted with Gu Qi, and his tone was noticeably better than before. Although no one knew that Gu Qi was responsible for the massacre of Qingluo Palace, many of the female disciples who escaped that day had seen his face. While most dared not utter a word for fear of being killed, some, less discreet, had let slip a few words.
So everyone spread the word that the one who destroyed Qingluo Palace was a handsome man dressed in white.
Those who don't know Gu Qi probably wouldn't think of him, but those who do know him would immediately think of him. How many powerful cultivators are there who like to wear white robes and have handsome features? Moreover, no one knows his background yet, which makes him seem even more unfathomable.
Wen Kexing also began to suspect Gu Qi.
It's possible he's wrong, but why take that risk? That's why he was so nice to Gu Qi today.
"I left in a hurry last time and didn't have time to chat with Fellow Daoist Gu. I wonder if I would have the honor of inviting Fellow Daoist Gu for a few drinks today?" Wen Kexing said with a smile.
"If that's how it is, then I won't stand on ceremony," Gu Qi said with a smile.
"please!"
"please!"

Inside the private room, Gu Qi and Wen Kexing sat together, chatting away. Han Wei and Wen Chun sat beside them, occasionally exchanging wide glances. After a while, Han Wei went out, and Wen Chun followed her out.
There was a small courtyard outside the private room. Han Wei stood in front of the railing, gazing at the distant mountains. Wen Chun was behind her, watching her back, and said, "Last time I underestimated you, that's why you won."
"What? You want to fight me right now?" Han Wei turned to look at Wen Chun.
Wen Chun curled her lips: "Are you scared?"
Han Wei shook her head: "I'm not afraid, but I'm not interested."
Wen Chun's face turned cold, and she said sarcastically, "So you're scared."
Han Wei looked at her but smiled without saying a word.
Wen Chun was about to say something when, at that moment, she saw a light appear on the distant horizon, a light that resembled a giant crack. The crack grew larger and larger, shooting out dazzling light.
The sky was filled with colorful clouds and purple mist, and a city, a giant city, slowly appeared in the clouds.
"What...what is that?"
Wen Chun stared in disbelief at the distant horizon.
Not only her, but countless cultivators throughout Starlight City were staring in disbelief at the colossal city rising from the clouds, all asking the same question: "What is that?"
Wen Chun flew into the sky, and Han Wei followed suit, gazing at the colossal city high in the clouds. Figures rose from every corner of Xingyue City, and cultivators whispered amongst themselves in the air.
The entire city of Xingyue was in an uproar, and countless cultivators outside the city looked up at the colossal city in the sky. Golden light shimmered within the city, like the light of a precious treasure. Then, a powerful surge of spiritual energy emanated from it.
Suddenly, many cultivators were filled with greed. It was a treasure, there must be a treasure there. Thinking of this, they disregarded everything else and flew towards the giant city.
Gu Qi and Wen Kexing appeared in front of Han Wei and Wen Chun.
"Master, there, there seems to be a treasure being born." Wen Chun pointed to the distant cloud-top city and said to Wen Kexing.
Seeing that the other cultivators had already flocked to fly over there, she wished she could fly over them now and compete for the treasure.
“Brother Gu, this fluctuation of spiritual energy suggests that there might be some extraordinary treasure.” Wen Kexing said to Gu Qi beside him. He spread his divine sense and saw countless cultivators rushing towards the cloud palace, including several Nascent Soul old ghosts that he recognized.
Iron Calculator, Silver Flower Granny, and Gentle Breeze Master have all flown toward the Cloud Palace.
We can't let them beat us to it!
Opportunities always come with risks. He hadn't rushed to the palace in the clouds immediately because he was afraid of traps. But when Wen Kexing saw that the other Nascent Soul stage monsters had already taken action, he couldn't hold back any longer.
"Brother Gu, I'm taking my leave now!"
After Wen Kexing finished speaking, he transformed into a long rainbow and flew towards the palace in the clouds.
"Master—"
Wen Chun immediately followed.
Everyone in Xingyue City saw the magnificent palace perched high in the clouds. Constructed of vast amounts of gold and jade, it was breathtakingly beautiful, radiating a soft, luminous glow. A protective barrier of dazzling runes formed, and streaks of light flew towards it and vanished.
Han Wei looked around, and all the cultivators in Xingyue City were excited, rushing towards the mysterious giant city. Apart from here, anyone who had seen the palace was speeding towards this place. In just a short while, Xingyue City had become a ghost town.
"Master, aren't we going?" Han Wei looked at the man beside her.
Gu Qi held a jade flute in his hand. He looked at the palace in the clouds and said, "The strange appearance of this palace is really eerie. The faster we run, the faster we might die."
