Chapter Ninety-Four: A Predestined Fate from a Past Life
Night had fallen, and lanterns were already lit throughout the Prince of Yan's residence.
Han Wei stood by the window, watching the boy sitting at his desk reading a book. She concealed herself, and no one could see her presence.
Lu Qingheng had just finished bathing. He was wearing a white robe with a moon-white cloak draped over it. His long, black hair was half-tied up, and his face, under the lamplight, was as gentle and refined as jade. He looked very similar to Gu Qi, but they gave off completely different vibes.
When Han Wei first met Gu Qi, she was momentarily dazed, but she never mistook him for Lu Qingheng. Although they were connected in a past life, they were ultimately different. Lu Qingheng was physically weak and had a gentle personality, while Gu Qi's gentle exterior concealed a sharp and murderous edge.
"Your Highness, it's late. You should rest early!" said the chief secretary of the Prince of Yan's residence. This white-haired chief secretary, surnamed Chen, was a confidant of Lu Qingheng's father. He was over sixty years old and had watched Lu Qingheng and his son grow up. Deep down, he felt a familial affection for his master, Lu Qingheng, as if he were his own grandson.
"Uncle Chen, I'll watch for a little longer and then rest. You should go and rest first!" Lu Qingheng said with a smile, a smile as bright and clear as the moonlight, infinitely beautiful.
The maids beside him couldn't help but feel their hearts race at his smile. His Highness was truly a god-like figure! There was no man in the whole world more handsome than His Highness.
Everyone who saw Lu Qingheng was astonished by his handsome appearance. But this extraordinary young man was destined for a short life; both the imperial physicians and renowned doctors in the countryside predicted he wouldn't live past twenty. Therefore, besides being amazed by his appearance, people were also filled with regret for his passing.
Chen Changshi felt somewhat helpless towards Lu Qingheng. After giving a few instructions to the maid beside him, he left Lu Qingheng's place to handle other matters of the Prince's Mansion.
Lu Qingheng read for a while longer, then a maid reminded him to rest. Feeling sleepy, Lu Qingheng put down his book. A maid came in from outside, carrying Lu Qingheng's medicine. Every night before going to sleep, Lu Qingheng had to take his medicine. He had taken it almost every day since he was born.
The medicine contained sedatives, and Lu Qingheng quickly fell asleep.
After he fell asleep, Han Wei sat by his bedside, looking down at him with a tender expression.
She looked at him and remembered everything that had happened between them in her past life.

Previous life.
"Cough cough..."
Late at night, Lu Qingheng lay in bed for a long time but couldn't fall asleep. A bright moon hung high outside. Unable to sleep, Lu Qingheng carefully got up, put on his clothes, and came out of the bedroom. He saw that the maid on night watch was asleep on the table. He didn't disturb anyone and quietly left.
Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and he gave many guards a holiday to spend with their families, so they didn't even notice that he had walked out of the courtyard alone and into the garden.
The moonlight, like quicksilver, spilled across the ground. Lu Qingheng walked through the moonlight to a pond, where the moonlight was exceptionally beautiful. The pond reflected a bright moon, as white as a wall, while blooming lotus flowers closed their petals in the night, their leaves intertwined, and the croaking of frogs filled the air.
Lu Qingheng sat on a seat by the railing, admiring the night view. Suddenly, he saw a streak of light appear in the sky, like a falling star, falling straight towards him.
With a splash, the silvery-white streak of light fell into the pool not far away, right in front of Lu Qingheng.
Lu Qingheng stared in shock, his mouth agape. He stood up and walked forward, where he saw a figure floating in the pool. It was a woman dressed in a white gauze dress, submerged in the water, seemingly unconscious. Her long hair was disheveled, obscuring her face, but her entire body was enveloped in a faint starlight, which quickly vanished.
Lu Qingheng pinched his thigh; it hurt, proving that this was not a dream.
Filled with curiosity, he stepped across the rocks in the pool and walked to the woman's side. He reached out and took her arm.
"Girl, girl..."
He wanted to pull the woman up.
Lu Qingheng was physically weak, but fortunately the woman was very light, and he managed to pull her ashore. Exhausted and panting, Lu Qingheng looked at her by the moonlight and saw that she appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old, a young girl. An extremely beautiful and stunningly gorgeous girl, more beautiful than any woman he had ever seen.
Looking at such a beautiful face, Lu Qingheng was stunned for a moment.
"Your Highness, Your Highness——"
Several people came running from a distance.
Lu Qingheng was not in the room and was finally discovered; the maids and guards found their way here.
Upon seeing them, Lu Qingheng said with delight, "You've come at the right time. Please help me carry this young lady into the house."
He simply couldn't move the unconscious girl; it had already taken him a tremendous amount of effort to pull her ashore.
girl?
Only then did everyone notice that there was a person at Lu Qingheng's feet—a stunningly beautiful girl, completely soaked.
Where did this come from?
Everyone was astonished.

The fact that His Highness the Prince of Yan went out for a stroll in the garden in the middle of the night and picked up a stunningly beautiful young girl who appeared out of nowhere quickly became the talk of the entire palace.
Because the woman was picked up by His Highness Prince Yan, even though everyone felt that the woman's arrival was suspicious and that she might be a spy or something, no one bothered to investigate further. Could they possibly interrogate His Highness Prince Yan?
It seems that His Highness the Prince of Yan was captivated by the girl. The girl had been unconscious for several days, and His Highness visited her every day, sometimes several times a day.
"Could that woman be some kind of spirit in disguise? Even His Highness is completely captivated by her."
"Keep your voice down, or His Highness will hear you."
Several maids spoke quietly outside the room, glancing inside again. They couldn't see what was happening inside through the window screen.
Inside the room, Lu Qingheng sat beside the bed, gazing at the girl who had been unconscious for seven days. He had already summoned the imperial physician to check her pulse, and the physician said the girl was not ill; her pulse was normal.
The maid changed her clothes and said the girl had no wounds. But if someone isn't injured or sick, why would she be unconscious?
Lu Qingheng recalled the scene when the girl appeared in front of him. Was she... was she a celestial being?
He gazed at the girl before him, and the more he looked at her face, the more beautiful she seemed. Although everyone said he was good-looking, he felt that the girl before him was truly beautiful, with fair skin and delicate features, elegant and refined.
Perhaps she really is a fairy, otherwise how could she be so beautiful?
As he watched, Lu Qingheng felt emotions he had never experienced before, and his heart began to race.
He was chronically ill, and sudden increases in heart rate and heart rate were commonplace for him. He didn't even realize that his rapid heartbeat was due to other reasons.
