Chapter Three: Han Wei's Deception and Scam
There were restrictions ahead; the entire stone forest was covered in talismans, and even the void itself was protected. But Han Wei remained unfazed. After resting for a moment, she flew forward again.
Little did she know that after she left, a figure appeared here.
The young man, with jet-black hair and dressed in snow-white robes, was incomparably handsome. His skin was like jade, and a faint smile played on his lips.
The night wind blew his long hair and robes, making him appear elegant and graceful, like a banished immortal.
His golden eyes were fixed on the spot where Han Wei had left, and he chuckled softly:
"A mere Qi Refining stage cultivator can move freely in this forbidden area, where even Nascent Soul stage cultivators dare not act recklessly. Interesting?"
His voice is very pleasant, the kind that's very magnetic.
As soon as he finished speaking, his figure transformed into petals and faded into the night.
————
The ground was covered with enormous tree roots, and a towering spirit tree, tens of feet tall, spread its umbrella-like canopy. Each leaf of this spirit tree emitted a faint glow, and several enormous jade-colored flowers bloomed on the tree. The spiritual energy here was extremely dense, and many runes around it shone like stars.
Han Wei stood beneath the spirit tree, having returned to her original form.
Her beautiful eyes gazed at the sacred tree, her expression sorrowful.
This tree is called the Jade Dragon Fruit Tree. Her parents went through great hardships to transplant it from a dangerous ancient ruin to this forbidden area of the Qingyun Sect.
Han Wei looked at the flowers on the tree; these few flowers were about to bear fruit.
She sat cross-legged under the tree, then formed a mudra with her hands. Her dark eyes instantly turned emerald green, her obsidian-like eyes now shining like jade.
Strands of spiritual energy surged from the Jade Dragon Fruit tree toward Han Wei, gradually forming a vortex of spiritual energy in front of her.
Blue curse marks appeared on Han Wei's fair skin. As these curse marks appeared, the flowers blooming on the trees slowly withered, while Han Wei's strength was rapidly increasing.
Qi Refining Level 10, Qi Refining Level 11, Qi Refining Level 12...
The light of the jade dragon fruit tree was dimming, every leaf was dimming, and the light was getting weaker and weaker, while Han Wei's cultivation was increasing wildly, breaking through the bottleneck of the Qi Refining stage and reaching the early stage of Foundation Establishment.
As Han Wei breathed, a huge magic circle appeared beneath her.
Within the green magic circle, there was a huge totem of a wooden azure dragon. Countless ancient and mysterious runes flowed within the circle. As soon as the azure dragon appeared, all the leaves of the Jade Dragon Fruit Tree withered away, leaving only a withered trunk.
Han Wei's cultivation level has reached the peak of the mid-Foundation Establishment stage.
She stripped the jade dragon fruit tree of its life force, which was, frankly, a terrible waste, as this tree was a rare find even in the upper realm. But she couldn't take the tree with her, so even if she burned it to ashes, she wouldn't leave it to Xie Yun or anyone else.
Having drained the life force of the spirit tree, Han Wei stood up and flew away on her sword. Her appearance changed; she smiled and transformed into Fang Jingbai.
Maintaining the transformation technique requires a lot of magical power. Previously, with only the Qi Refining stage cultivation, it was easy to expose flaws due to insufficient magical power. Now, Han Wei can do things with peace of mind.
Beneath the withered spirit tree, a white figure appeared out of nowhere.
The man, dressed in pristine white, stood tall and elegant, his figure graceful and refined. Gazing at the withered spirit tree, he murmured, "The Myriad Manifestations of the Netherworld Technique... how could she know this technique?"
With a thought, the man in white followed Han Wei again.
————
Inside the main hall, Su Rumei sat leaning against the headboard, flipping through a book. Hearing footsteps, she saw her "Second Senior Brother" and exclaimed happily:
"Second Senior Brother."
"Why isn't Mei'er resting properly?" Han Wei said.
"I'm always lying down, and my head feels so foggy," Su Rumei said softly, pressing her temples.
Han Wei suppressed her nausea and said, "Mei'er, I want to go to Xuandu Mountain to find some spiritual herbs for you. Could you lend me your Wonderful Sound Bell and Silver Moon Bow?"
The Magic Bell and the Silver Moon Bow were both magical treasures given to Han Wei by her parents. They were stolen by Xie Yun and ended up in Su Rumei's hands.
Su Rumei was displeased to hear that her second senior brother had actually asked to borrow a magic weapon from her. This was no ordinary magic weapon; it was a top-tier one. Her second senior brother was truly shameless.
Seeing this, Han Wei sighed and said, "If Mei'er finds it difficult, then let's just forget about it."
She pretended to be extremely disappointed.
Seeing this, Su Rumei gritted her teeth. With a wave of her hand, a jade bell and a silver longbow appeared in front of her. She said with heartache, "Second Senior Brother, Xuandu Mountain is dangerous. You still need to take them with you. Mei'er can rest assured."
Han Wei was secretly delighted.
"Mei'er, I will definitely help you find the elixir."
After Han Wei finished speaking, she put the Wonderful Sound Bell and the Silver Moon Bow into her storage bag.
After obtaining the magic weapon, Han Wei left Su Rumei's place. When she reached a secluded spot, she sneered a few times: "If the timing weren't so bad, I would definitely skin you alive."
Then, she transformed into the appearance of her senior brother Song Xuan and flew to Xinglin Peak, which was in charge of spiritual plants and pills in Qingyun Sect. She found the Core Formation stage elder in charge and asked for various spiritual herbs and refined pills in Xie Yun's name.
The Core Formation stage elder had questions when he saw that Han Wei's list contained too many items, but Han Wei only sneered:
"I am doing this for my master. If you have any questions, Elder Cao, you can ask your master yourself."
Elder Cao dared not refuse and gave Han Wei half of the pills and dozens of thousand-year-old spiritual herbs in the Qingyun Sect.
After leaving Xinglin Peak, Han Wei transformed back into Elder Cao, borrowed a large amount of spirit stones from several other Core Formation stage elders of Qingyun Sect, and then swaggered away.
She had fooled everyone, and no one knew it. She was extremely pleased with herself, unaware that someone had been following her all along.
The man in white thought to himself: This little girl is really bold. She knows that her transformation technique will fail as soon as she makes a move, yet she still dares to play tricks on elders in the Core Formation stage who are all more powerful than her.
His interest in Han Wei grew stronger, and he followed her to Yunxiao Peak of Qingyun Sect.
Yunxiao Peak was the place where Han Wei's parents practiced before they passed away. This place now nominally belongs to Han Wei, but in reality, it belongs to Han Wei's master, Xie Yun.
The restrictions on Cloud Peak remained unchanged, and even if they had, it wouldn't have mattered to Han Wei. She traversed the numerous restrictions and arrived before the familiar palace.
The palace stood silently in the night, with no one around except for the rustling of the grass.
Han Wei suddenly turned around, coldly looking behind her, her eyes flashing with a cold, eerie green light:
"What is your purpose in following me all this way?"
The man in white following behind her paused for a moment. He stared at Han Wei but remained silent and did not appear.
