Chapter 172 Finally Becoming an Immortal

Chapter 172 Finally Becoming an Immortal

"As expected of you, I knew you would make a move."

A familiar voice rang out.

The surrounding scenery changed again; this place had become the Jade Palace. Han Wei looked at Gu Qi, who stood a few steps away from her, holding a long sword in his hand, a mocking smile on his handsome face.

Han Wei looked at him, then at the dagger in her hand, and she remembered that stab.

"Master," Han Wei called out.

"You still remember your master? I'm truly honored," Gu Qi said sarcastically.

“Of course I remember you, I’ve always remembered you,” Han Wei said.

"So, you rebellious disciple, are you trying to kill me now?" Gu Qi asked her.

"Master, you forced me to do this! You forced me to kill you!" Han Wei shouted.

“How did I force you? Didn’t I tell you from the beginning? You agreed, then went back on your word, and now it’s become me forcing you. Since I took you as my disciple, haven’t I been good enough to you? I’ve tried my best to give you whatever you want, but what about you? Do you have any sincerity towards me at all?” Gu Qi asked her.

Han Wei looked at him, tears streaming down her face: "How could I not be sincere? If I weren't sincere, would I be in so much pain? Master, if you hadn't forced us so hard, how could we have ended up like this?"

"Words are useless. If you want to become an immortal, then kill me here again." As Gu Qi spoke, he swung his long sword, and terrifying sword energy erupted from his body, transforming into thousands upon thousands of flying swords.

Han Wei's dagger transformed into a longsword, and with a wave of her hand, thousands upon thousands of flying swords appeared. The master and disciple then engaged in a fierce battle.

Rumble—

Vast swathes of buildings collapsed, shockwaves spreading outwards and destroying the magnificent palace. After all was quiet, a white-clad man was seen, his chest stained with blood, a long sword piercing his body. Han Wei clutched the sword, large tears rolling down her face.

Even knowing it was a demon in her heart, the reenactment of that scene still caused her immense pain.

"You really do love yourself the most..."

After saying this, Gu Qi, the inner demon, closed his eyes.

He disappeared.

Han Wei began to sob softly, and after she finished crying, everything here disappeared.

The inner demon tribulation is over.

Han Wei opened her eyes, her whole body surrounded by celestial light, and an enormous door appeared between heaven and earth.

This magnificent gate, surrounded by the aura of immortals, is the Gate of Emptiness. Every cultivator who transcends tribulation and ascends to immortality will encounter this gate after overcoming their inner demon tribulation. The moment they pass through the gate, their body merges with the Great Dao, allowing them to ascend to the upper realm.

A radiant light soared into the sky, incense smoke swirled, and a divine rainbow pierced the heavens—a truly extraordinary sight.

Han Wei flew towards the empty gate, and she passed through it.

————

The so-called Upper Realm, in its true sense, refers to the Nine Primordial Realms.

When cultivators from the lower realms undergo tribulation and ascend to immortality, they may fall into any of the nine primordial realms. Generally speaking, ordinary human cultivators ascend to the Immortal Realm or the Spirit Realm, demon cultivators ascend to the Demon Realm, demonic cultivators ascend to the Demon Realm, and ghost cultivators ascend to the Underworld.

However, there are always exceptions. For example, human cultivators may ascend to the Demon Realm even if they have never practiced demonic techniques.

Take Han Wei, for example, who's having a run of bad luck right now.

A blood moon hung high in the sky, and strangely shaped birds flew across the night, all shrouded in demonic energy and with fierce eyes. A vast, dark mountain range stretched as far as the eye could see, its peaks bizarre and grotesque, resembling ghostly hands. The entire world was filled with an atmosphere of slaughter, madness, darkness, and brutality.

Han Wei floated in the sky, stunned.

Is this...is this the immortal realm?

That can't be right!!!

What kind of place is this?

Wait a minute, could she have ascended to the Demon Realm?

What incredible luck!

She stumbled upon a one in a billion chance, and Han Wei began to suspect that someone was playing tricks on her, deliberately getting back at her.

Soon, demons discovered Han Wei, a celestial being, who seemed quite novel, a newly ascended true immortal.

Eat her!

Then, Han Wei was hunted down.

"Grab her!"

"Grab her quickly!"

Countless figures flew in from all directions, all of them demons coming to capture Han Wei. Who told her, a human who had just achieved immortality, to run off to the demon realm's stronghold? The demon realm wasn't a place anyone dared to enter. Even those powerful beings who did manage to reach the demon realm for various reasons always concealed their presence or disguised themselves as demons.

Han Wei cursed God as she fled for her life.

Fortunately, she possessed many magical treasures. Holding the Hundred Flower Fan in her hand, she fanned it, and countless pink peach petals pierced through the charging demons. Han Wei had just become an immortal when she was plunged into fierce battle; she didn't even have time to adapt to her current level of cultivation.

He wasn't even proficient in using his magical powers, so he was constantly being chased and forced to hide.

Rumble—

Countless mountain peaks exploded, and Han Wei, surrounded by lightning, flew forward at breakneck speed. But this was the territory of the Demon Realm, the Demon Realm's stronghold. Wherever she flew, she was surrounded by demons, and wherever she went, she would be fighting.

Unfortunately, she had just become an immortal, and her immortal aura was extremely strong. Even the Spirit-Suppressing Stone was no longer effective and could not completely conceal her aura. She was chased and killed in a very sorry state.

Will she become the shortest-lived immortal in all the heavens and myriad realms?

Han Wei was on the verge of tears.

Just as she was surrounded and thought she was doomed, suddenly ten thousand golden rays descended from the sky. The light seemed to have come from the distant past, and all the demons that touched it were reduced to ashes. Before Han Wei could recover from her shock and doubt, a large, transparent hand suddenly appeared from the void and grabbed her.

Han Wei screamed in surprise as she was grabbed by that hand.

————

Flowers, flowers everywhere.

This is a very different space, filled with exotic flowers and rare herbs. Beside the clear spiritual spring grows a tall divine cherry tree, a hundred feet tall, with pink petals hanging all over its branches. When a breeze blows, the petals fall like rain.

Beneath the tree stood a jade table, beside which sat a futon upon which sat a man. The man's skin was as white as jade, his features were exceptionally handsome, and his demeanor was otherworldly. He had long silver hair, which was braided into several plaits, the rest cascading down his back like a waterfall.

The handsome man in white was sipping tea when suddenly a huge, light golden hand appeared in the sky, grasping a person inside—a stunningly beautiful girl in purple.

The hand grabbed the purple-clad girl and threw her to the ground, where she fell into the flower bushes.

She cried out in pain.

Han Wei sat up, brushed the petals off her clothes, and looked up to see the Heavenly Emperor not far away. Upon seeing him, a breathtaking smile appeared on her face: "My husband!"

Han Wei smiled and got up to run towards the Heavenly Emperor.
