Chapter 129 Ghostly Marriage

Wang Yao saw ghostly figures moving back and forth in the corridor, all busy as if they had no idea that they had just gone on a killing spree in the shopping mall.

Holy crap! This is blatant provocation! I've been killing them for ages, and these ghosts haven't even flinched? Have you all gotten so emboldened by eating people? You don't even try to dodge, you dare to ignore me?

Little did Wang Yao know that he was suffering from acute bandit syndrome. He felt that he had killed so many ghosts that the ghosts in the underworld would be hiding in the shadows, trembling with fear. If he called his name, even the little ghosts who cried at night would have to shut up.

Unexpectedly, these bastards were so audacious that they not only seemed completely unconcerned about their own brutality, but also appeared utterly uninterested in knowing who they were. For someone suffering from bandit syndrome, the most terrifying thing in the world isn't being hated, cursed, or surrounded; it's being ignored.

I felt like I had been busy all day, as if I had solved many huge cases, and I thought I was so great that I had no friends in the world. But when I left the mountain village, I found that I was still unknown, and it was as if the cases I had solved had never happened.

It felt like he had put on a great show, but he was the only audience member. No one else had ever seen it or even heard of it. That feeling was worse than being killed.

Wang Yao felt his head was about to be set on fire with anger, and without saying a word, thunder and lightning once again swept around.

"Help! A ghost is being killed...!"

The cries came again, and Wang Yao felt a little better after hearing them. He didn't stop, chasing after the fleeing ghosts and killing them. As they chased, they turned into a door, and then another door inside another door. Wang Yao didn't care about anything else, he just kept killing the ghosts.

After killing to their hearts' content, Wang Yao and Hui Shuo finally found themselves without any ghosts in sight. They then wandered around aimlessly, and whenever they spotted a ghost, they would immediately rush up and slaughter it. Wherever the two went, there would be chaos and commotion, and then all the ghosts would disappear without a trace.

After sweeping through several corridors and dozens of doors, Wang Yao finally felt a bit tired, so he sat down by the roadside. He looked at his spiritual energy and found that he still had 500 million. He couldn't help but smile bitterly to himself. He had enough spiritual energy now, but his physical strength couldn't keep up.

"Father, Mother, I...I'm hungry..." Hui Shuo sat down next to Wang Yao and stammered.

"Hungry?" Wang Yao was taken aback. He then remembered that they had spent quite a bit of time in the Underworld. Hui Shuo had eaten before entering the Underworld, and after a series of strenuous activities, he was indeed hungry.

Damn it, I forgot I should have looked for human food in the shopping mall. The saleswoman said the mall had everything, so I figured there should be food for people. I didn't find any and brought some with me. Now I don't know how to get back.

This damned underworld is so dilapidated that even finding a path is so difficult. Before he knew it, the fire in Wang Yao's heart suddenly flared up again.

"Come on, I'll take you to find something to eat," Wang Yao said in a deep voice. The two stood up, and this time they didn't go looking for ghosts. Instead, they tried to recall the path they had taken to find the shopping plaza. However, no matter how many ghosts they killed, they couldn't find the plaza.

"There they are!" Suddenly a shout came from afar. Wang Yao saw a large group of ghostly figures surging towards the end of the corridor. He immediately perked up and went to meet them.

"What are you doing causing such a ruckus in the underworld, you immortal?" A thin ghost dressed in a light blue robe that looked like a theatrical costume stepped past the other ghosts and shouted at Wang Yao.

"Where is the shopping center?" Wang Yao asked coldly, his mind preoccupied with Hui Shuo.

“Buy…” The ghost blinked, not understanding what Wang Yao meant.

"It's a place that sells things. This place is really hard to find, you know?" Wang Yao explained to him impatiently.

"Not from here... You killed the ghost at the Ghost Paradise Shopping Center, assaulted the police, resisted arrest, and came here? And you still dare to ask me?" The ghost was a helpful person and couldn't help but want to give Wang Yao directions. But as soon as he said it, he suddenly realized what was going on and became furious.

"You don't know, do you? I was thinking of sparing you." Wang Yao snorted coldly, and lightning struck again. The green-robed ghost stretched out one hand, and a black shield suddenly appeared. The electric snakes struck it, but apart from stirring up wisps of yin energy, it didn't budge.

"I thought he was some powerful immortal, but it turns out he's just a half-baked charlatan." The green-robed ghost looked at the shield in his hand, smiled disdainfully, and then the shield disappeared from his hand again.

"Hui Shuo, strike the wooden fish and chant sutras!" Wang Yao guessed that this ghost was a big shot, probably a powerful figure from the underworld. He quickly put himself on the role of a "good person" while keeping a close eye on the green-robed ghost and instructing Hui Shuo to chant sutras.

“Oh…” Hui Shuo agreed, sat down cross-legged, and began chanting scriptures in the corridor.

"Huh? This monk is rather strange." As the golden light rose with the sound of the wooden fish and spread outwards, the green-robed ghost raised a hand and waved it behind him. The large group of ghosts behind him all retreated slightly, but the green-robed ghost stood still and looked at Hui Shuo with amazement.

The golden light bathed his body, yet he remained completely unaffected; not even a speck of black ash fell off.

"Hmm, it's just the power of a magic weapon. This monk's cultivation is not even as good as this half-baked immortal." The green-robed ghost nodded and walked towards Hui Shuo. Obviously, in his opinion, Hui Shuo was a greater threat than Wang Yao, and he wanted to capture Hui Shuo first.

Seeing the danger of the dark night, Wang Yao hurriedly used "Summoning Thunder" and "Electric Snakes" in quick succession. Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed in the air, and bolts of lightning rained down on the green-robed ghost.
