Chapter 168 Open Design

"What are we supposed to do? Let the male lead decide his own future? What the hell are we supposed to do then? Besides, I don't even have the energy to criticize your plot design. Is this some kind of bickering couple trope? What dynasty are you even reading about?"

"Wake up! These days, who has the time for all that back-and-forth banter and scheming between men and women? If they're attracted to each other, they just get straight to the point, right? Who knows when this guy will be reincarnated? You're giving him such an old-fashioned plot, aren't you just kidding?"

The middle-aged ghost nodded repeatedly as he listened. Gao Qunzhu was speaking happily when he saw Wang Yao coming over, and he couldn't help but frown.

"What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you, the person you mentioned is atoning for sins from a past life. It's not a problem with our fortune-telling. It's no use coming to us," Gao Qunzhu said to Wang Yao.

“Group Leader Gao, since I’ve come all this way, what crime did Molupo commit in his past life? Why is he being treated like this? I need to find out. Besides, I have other things to discuss with you…” Wang Yao frowned, secretly labeling himself a “good guy.”

The group leader was running around, putting on a busy act, but whether he was genuinely busy or just trying to give him a hard time, he couldn't tell. However, this matchmaker wasn't one to be trifled with, and if the group leader kept nagging like this, he was prepared to turn on him.

How to turn against him? Make a scene! Having met with King Pingdeng, Wang Yao now felt no burden whatsoever about causing trouble in the Underworld.

"Is there anything else? Look how busy I am... Here's what we'll do, Xiao Jiang, take this immortal to the archives for me, and pull out the fortune-telling of that guy surnamed Mo for him to look at. If there's anything else he wants to see, find it and show it to him as well." Gao Qunzhu said to the armored soldier.

"Once you've read and understood it, hurry up and do something else. Don't waste time here. Our fortune telling here is an open-ended design. It's normal for your relative or friend to be unlucky and just happen to run into that bad branch. Just accept it. Anyway, they can be reincarnated after they're born."

Gao Qunzhu then turned to Wang Yao and said.

When Wang Yao heard what Gao Qunzhu said, he didn't want to lash out. He turned to look at the soldier whom Gao Qunzhu called Xiao Jiang.

"In that case, I'll trouble Lord Jiang to accompany me to take a look," Wang Yao said with a smile.

"Of course, of course. Since Chief Gao has spoken, please come with me." Xiao Jiang was quite polite, nodding to Wang Yao and leading him out of the courtyard. Meanwhile, Chief Gao pointed to a stack of papers in his hand and continued chatting with the middle-aged ghost.

When Wang Yao and Xiao Jiang left the courtyard, they saw Xiao Jiang leading him back to the city gate. The front of the city gate was piled high with ghost corpses, sealing the gate tightly. However, there was no ghost corpse on the back of the city gate, and the gate was wide open.

Xiao Jiang led Wang Yao into the city gate and opened a small door on the left.

"Where in the human realm is the person you're looking for?" Xiao Jiang asked.

“Zhidu, Ziqiang County,” Wang Yao replied.

Xiao Jiang nodded and said nothing more, leading Wang Yao through the door. Wang Yao saw that there was an elevator inside. Xiao Jiang pressed a button on the elevator, the small door closed, and the elevator started moving.

"You...are you going downstairs?" Wang Yao looked at Xiao Jiang's actions, somewhat puzzled, wondering if the creative group was actually on the ninth floor instead of the tenth.

"How is that possible?" Xiao Jiang was startled by Wang Yao's words, but quickly understood what he meant and hurriedly explained.

“The tenth floor is two or three meters higher than the ninth floor, so we specially partitioned off the lower floor to use as an archive room. After all, the space upstairs is limited, and even with repeated compression, we still can't fit that many documents.”

As they were talking, the elevator doors opened, and Wang Yao found himself in a circular corridor. On the wall directly opposite the elevator doors was a door with a large black sign above it that read "Human Realm".

Xiao Jiang walked over and started feeling around on the door. Wang Yao nodded. It seemed that the door designs in the underworld were all pretty much the same, following the same pattern as the Huarong Road puzzle.

Not long after, the door opened, and Xiao Jiang turned on the light inside before inviting Wang Yao in. When Wang Yao entered, he saw that it was a small circular room with a long bar-like table embedded in the wall. On the table were computers and several chairs were scattered in front of it.

Xiao Jiang casually dragged a chair over and sat down in front of a computer. He reached out and turned on the computer. Wang Yao saw six pale characters, "Human Realm Destiny System," slowly appear on the black computer screen, with a cursor flashing below them.

As Xiao Jiang bent down and typed a few foreign letters and numbers on the keyboard, the cursor turned into a row of little stars. Then, the black screen suddenly lit up, and three pictures appeared on the screen.

The leftmost picture is in black and white, showing a man and a woman dressed in ancient costumes, seemingly exchanging glances. Between them are two large characters, one black and one white, that read "Past".

The middle picture is in color, showing several little kids in school uniforms skipping and jumping away from a school called Guangming Road Primary School, with the words "Now" printed above the school gate.

The picture on the right shows a guy in a spacesuit jumping around in space against a backdrop of planets, while a space shuttle speeds by in the distance, its exhaust fumes spelling out the word "future".

"The person you're looking for is still in the human realm, right?" Xiao Jiang suddenly asked again.

“Uh…yes…” Wang Yao was stunned for a moment before he understood what Xiao Jiang meant. He thought to himself that the concepts of ghosts and humans are different. When Xiao Jiang asked whether Mo Luopo was still in the human world, he probably meant whether Mo Luopo was dead or not.
