"Well, now you believe me, right?" Cao Xian stopped singing after a couple of lines and called out. "Don't waste your time. How many immortals do you have here? We still need to find other missing colleagues."
"No, even the Fairy Maiden has to sing a song. What if you're kidnapped by spirits?" To everyone's surprise, the people outside the sand wall persisted.
“These little brats… Oh well, Fairy, why don’t you sing one too?” Cao Xian spread his hands and looked at Fairy.
"I'm not going to sing, I'll just fight! I don't believe a few little fairies can trap me!" The fairy blushed, her eyebrows stood up, and she clasped her hands together. Pink light shone again, and fine sand fell down wherever the red light touched the surrounding sand walls.
"Oh no! They've started fighting inside! Hurry!" came several panicked shouts from outside.
Seawater and sand gushed out from the ground again like a fountain, and the sand wall that had been peeled away by the red light began to thicken again, although the speed was not as fast as the speed at which the red light peeled away.
This is why the fairy knew that everyone outside was her immortal and showed mercy. Otherwise, if her aura were to explode, shattering the sand wall would not be difficult. However, if she did that, it would be difficult to control her power and avoid accidentally injuring the immortals.
When Wang Yao saw that people inside and outside the wall were making such a fuss, he felt it wasn't worth it. It's just singing, right? If you won't sing, I will!
"Hey, you outside the wall, stop messing around. I'm Wang Yao, the Matchmaker from the Heavenly Court's office in the human world. I'll sing a song, hee shua hee shua hee, hee shua hee shua hee..." As he spoke, Wang Yao started singing loudly.
The sand wall collapsed with a "crash," revealing three wary immortals standing in front and behind.
"Damn, this is awful! Please, stop singing! You're messing up the whole system!" The middle-aged immortal at the front pleaded with Wang Yao.
"Really, your song is even more powerful than the fairy's magic..." A fairy who looked to be in his twenties looked at Wang Yao in horror.
"You already know it's magic, so why did you still tell Section Chief Huang to do it?" The last young immortal nudged the immortal in front of him and scolded him.
"I was just worried they'd be kidnapped by spirits," the immortal explained.
"Kidnapping? How did you even come up with that? When have you ever seen a spirit kidnap an immortal? Liu Xikai, you brat, I knew it was you who did this. Xiao Di and Lao Huang don't have your tricks."
Cao Xian rushed towards the immortal surnamed Liu with a huff, but to his surprise, the three immortals still acted as if facing a formidable enemy, and each of them jumped back a great distance.
"Damn it, are you guys serious? I saw Luo Renjie, and I knew he was being taken advantage of, but I didn't act like this." Cao Xian stopped and cursed helplessly.
"Director Cao, we...we're really scared. We're already being kind by not teleporting when we saw you," the middle-aged immortal leader, Huang Zhen, said awkwardly to Cao Xian.
"What are you all afraid of! This Old Man of the Moon can deal with spirits. He's already taken down the spirit that was residing in Xiao Su. You even know how to teleport. Even if you can't deal with a spirit, you can still escape! You're all like frightened birds. Where is your demeanor as immortals?" Cao Xian scolded.
"You...you can deal with spirit bodies?" The immortals looked at Wang Yao in surprise.
“We killed one. If they are all like that spirit residing in Su Jin, we should be able to handle them.” Wang Yao nodded.
"That's good, that's good..." The immortals breathed a sigh of relief, finally able to relax.
"Old Huang, I'm not trying to criticize you, but you're supposed to be an experienced immortal, so why are you acting as unreliably as them? Didn't you go down to the Underworld Queen District? I've been looking for you there for ages. When did you come back up? And why can't I get through to you on the phone?" Cao Xian stared at Huang Zhen.
"Don't say anymore, Director Cao. It's already incredibly lucky that we're still alive to meet again..." Huang Zhen sighed, and several immortals gathered around, each telling their own stories.
Huang Zhen and Di Yun were on the same team. They were originally on duty in the control hall with Su Jin and Luo Renjie. At first, they did not notice the leakage of corpse energy. It was only after six or seven ghosts suddenly collapsed in the control hall that they became alert.
Luo Renjie and Su Jin went down to the Underworld area to check, while Huang Zhen and Di Yun stayed up to treat the ghosts suffering from the corpse aura disease. Huang Zhen arranged for Di Yun to call Cao Xian and report that it was estimated that the yin energy valve was not closed properly, and corpse aura had leaked out again.
In fact, Luo Renjie and Su Jin had just taken the elevator down and didn't know if they had arrived at the Santong Center. What Di Yun said on the phone was just a guess.
The ghosts that had fallen in the control hall all had mild corpse aura. Huang Zhen and his companion treated them all without much effort and even put protective shields on each ghost in the hall. After finishing their work and calming down, Huang Zhen felt that things were not so simple.
Although Xu Zheng and Shan Laowu closed the valve for the upward flow of yin energy, they were not careless immortals. The big guy was fine when he was here, but it started leaking as soon as they left.
Huang Zhen became increasingly uneasy, so he arranged for Di Yun to wait in the control hall while he himself went down to the Underworld District.
When he arrived at the Santong Center, he didn't see Luo Renjie and Su Jin, but he discovered that a large section of the pipe was broken. He was immediately shocked and decided to call Luo Renjie and Su Jin back to the control room first, and then make further plans after Cao Xian arrived.
There was no signal in the Underworld area, and Huang Zhen didn't know where Luo Renjie and Su Jin had gone, so he turned around and called Di Yun to search for them separately. In order to avoid confusion among the ghosts above, he didn't tell anyone about the broken central pipe of the three-way connection, thinking he would tell Cao Xian when he arrived.
