Chapter 189 Teleportation Array

"Please move a little further in, everyone, and gather together." The immortal adjusted everyone's positions again, then turned and returned to the computer.

"You may experience slight dizziness the first time you use a teleportation array. This is normal, so please don't worry. The dizziness will disappear after you leave the teleportation array and walk around for a while," the immortal said, raising his voice after operating the computer for a while.

Immediately afterwards, he pressed a finger heavily on the Enter key on the computer keyboard, and a golden circle suddenly lit up on the ground beneath Wang Yao's feet. This circle perfectly surrounded the four immortals, and at the same time, Wang Yao felt a slight tremor beneath his feet.

As the vibrations grew stronger, a buzzing mechanical sound filled the room. Then, the golden circle on the ground suddenly began to pulsate, like a golden hula hoop, spinning up and down around the four immortals.

Moreover, the rotation speed was visibly increasing, as if the four immortals were wearing more than one hula hoop, bouncing up and down happily, and the mechanical roar in the room was getting louder and louder.

Suddenly, Wang Yao heard a soft "click" in his ear. The booming sound in his ear and the golden lines jumping in front of his eyes all disappeared in an instant. For a moment, Wang Yao felt a sensation similar to weightlessness.

However, it was a very short time. Everything seemed to have suddenly lost power, as if the teleportation had stopped before it had even officially begun. Everyone seemed to still be in the teleportation room they had just been in.

"Welcome, leaders, to Zhenxie Immortal City!" A voice rang out, and Wang Yao saw that the immortal standing by the computer desk had been replaced by a fairy. Hearing her welcoming words, he realized that in that instant, the four of them had arrived at Zhenxie Immortal City.

The fairy maiden stepped forward to complete the formalities with the fairy. Wang Yao vaguely sensed a flash of light at the opposite door, as if a fairy had just stepped out.

"We were mortals before we became immortals, so what does that have to do with the Underworld's ban on selling human artifacts?" Cao Xian was used to all of this, and was still pondering Wang Yao's question.

"Hey, Director Cao, why are you so slow? The Old Man of the Moon doesn't quite understand what I mean. Since I was once a human, you damn ghosts can't eat human artifacts. For example, now that we're immortals, which ghost in the underworld dares to openly eat immortal artifacts?" Liu Xikai interjected from the side.

"Um... I... that's what I meant." After listening to Liu Xikai's explanation, Wang Yao felt that stripping away those high-sounding principles, it seemed to make a lot of sense. Wasn't it just because he had been a human being?

He had previously tried to explain human nature and empathy to Cao Xian, but found that his explanations were far less direct and powerful than Liu Xikai's understanding.

"You brat, how dare you talk like that!" Cao Xian glared at Liu Xikai, then turned to look at Wang Yao, stroking his white beard and frowning.

"This...this reason, though unreasonable, is...it makes sense. So, does that mean we...we all have to oppose selling human-made devices?" Cao Xian frowned.

"That's right, Director Cao. I'm not trying to be mean, but many of the immortals in our office find it quite disgusting that the Underworld is openly selling humanoid devices in shopping malls."

"Last time, Su Jin was invited by the Song Emperor to attend the Underworld Poetry Gathering. When he came back, he said that watching those ghost poets reciting poems while gnawing on human hands and feet was so disgusting that he couldn't stand it."

"He's been back from the poetry gathering for days, and he can't write a single word. He feels disgusted that he's using the same language as those ghosts," Liu Xikai said.

"Alas, it's truly a pity about Xiao Su." Cao Xian sighed again upon hearing Liu Xikai mention Su Jin. "The Heavenly Court has rules: participate but don't interfere, help but don't cause trouble. Those ghosts didn't start eating people after I arrived. Although I disapprove, how could I speak out against it?"

"So I think Xiao Wang is quite good. It was his first time in the underworld, and he dared to speak up when he saw something wrong. He has courage and determination, and we should support him!" The fairy had already completed the procedures for becoming a fairy, and she led the immortals out while speaking.

"Wait a minute!" Wang Yao hurriedly called out to the fairy, then turned to look at the fairy who managed the teleportation array. "Do you know anything about the current state of the zombie apocalypse in the human realm?"

"I'm not too sure. The notification about the zombie apocalypse was just issued, and I haven't heard any rumors about the specifics yet," the fairy replied with a smile.

"What can you possibly get out of her? Didn't you see the immortals who left before us? The teleportation arrays here aren't even under control yet, so what big deal could it be?" the fairy maiden said discontentedly from the side.

Wang Yao recalled that just as the "buzzing" sound ended, he seemed to see an immortal push open the door and go out. It was his first time using a teleportation array, and he was focused on the teleportation experience, so he didn't pay much attention.

It's estimated that when the fairy was handling the procedures, she learned that the previous immortal had probably teleported for private reasons. She knew that the teleportation array in Zhenxie Immortal City was not subject to the same public-private distinction and control as Taiqing Immortal City, so she felt more confident.

Wang Yao nodded, understanding that asking the fairy managing the teleportation array of Zhenxie Immortal City was like asking a blind man for directions. It would be better to ask the immortals of Taiqing Immortal City, after all, the capital of the Heavenly Court, and their perspectives would be much broader than those of Zhenxie Immortal City.

He was anxious, and when he saw the immortals in the Heavenly Court, he couldn't help but ask them a question.

Lost in thought, Wang Yao followed the fairy maiden forward, but his footing faltered slightly. After a moment of surprise, he realized that this must be a side effect of the teleportation array.

He thought to himself that the dizziness from sitting in the teleportation array wasn't too strong; he just felt a slight lack of coordination in his limbs.
