Chapter 202 A Futile Journey

"How could I delay things if I don't make a fuss?" No matter how Wang Yao tried to persuade him, Hui Shuo simply wouldn't agree.

"This holy monk's magic weapon is quite remarkable, so... let's take him with us," King Qin Guang, who was listening impatiently, advised Wang Yao.

"Take him there? That place is full of corpse puppets and spirits, and who knows what kind of powerful being that is? If something happens to Hui Shuo there, are you going to take responsibility?" Wang Yao asked, his eyes wide.

"I can take responsibility. I'll make sure he's reborn into a good family. The holy monk looks pale and thin, clearly malnourished. How wonderful it would be if he were reborn into a wealthy family and raised to be plump and healthy," King Qin Guang replied nonchalantly.

"Forget it!" Wang Yao was too lazy to talk to these guys who treated life and death like a game. He glared at Hui Shuo and said, "You stay right here. I'm going to risk my life. If you get in the way, you'll be a hindrance. If you don't listen to me, you'll never be able to follow me again!"

Seeing that Wang Yao looked like he was about to turn hostile, Hui Shuo shut his mouth in fear and dared not utter another sound. He just looked at him pitifully.

Wang Yao hardened his heart and went with several other Yama Kings to the now calmed-down front line, with Hui Shuo following behind, tears streaming down his face.

"Please trouble the fairy to put up a protective shield for us. Our first stop will be the entrance to the Western Fifth Underworld District. If everything goes smoothly, we can then go deeper in. What do you think?" King Yama said.

The fairy silently cast protective shields on the others, including Wang Yao.

"A spirit body, a high-level humanoid corpse puppet, and a black donkey have just appeared ahead of here," Wang Yao reminded the Yama Kings.

"Neither the high-level humanoid corpse puppet nor the mid-level beast-shaped corpse puppet is a problem. Is it alright to hand over the essence to you?" Yama asked Wang Yao.

Wang Yao shook his head. Yama looked at the fairy, Emperor Song, and King Qin Guang. Seeing that no one had any objections, he gave a light shout. He pointed forward and a beam of dark light shot into the corridor in front of him, disappearing in an instant.

"Although my Soul-Guiding Technique is rather time-consuming, its advantage lies in allowing one to see before acting, which can save a lot of trouble along the way," Yama explained, then narrowed his eyes and looked at the void in front of him, as if he were looking at something.

He said it would take a long time, but it was only five or six minutes. Then Yama pointed to a spot on the ground.

"We didn't find any spirits or corpse puppets, so they must have gone somewhere else. Our mission is to destroy the enemy's lair. We can ignore the few stragglers."

As Yama spoke, a ring of black yin energy appeared on the ground he pointed to, perfectly encircling Wang Yao and his entourage.

"Go!" Wang Yao heard Yama's shout, and then a feeling of weightlessness came over him. He felt a blur before his eyes, and when he regained his senses, he found himself in an empty corridor, surrounded by the aura of death.

At the front line of the No. 7 intersection in the West Sixth District, Hui Shuo watched with teary eyes as Wang Yao, the fairy maiden, and the kings of hell disappeared in a flash, and another wave of sadness washed over him.

He felt that his parents didn't care about him at all, and left without a word, leaving him all alone without anyone to talk to.

"Holy Monk, do you want to go find your friend?" A sharp voice rang out beside him. Hui Shuo turned his head and saw a pale-faced, beardless, chubby man in ancient costume. He looked very familiar, as if he had seen him in some movie or TV series.

"What's the point of looking for him? He doesn't want me to follow him," Hui Shuo said irritably.

"He says I can't just follow him? I won't listen to that. He says I can't follow, but I'll still sneak off to see what he's doing. Maybe he's quietly returned to the human world, leaving you here. Wouldn't that be terrible?" the man in ancient costume said with a smile.

“But… they’ve all vanished without a trace. How can I follow them? I can’t keep up even if I wanted to.” Hui Shuo said helplessly, his nose starting to sting as he spoke.

"It's alright, it's alright. If you really want to catch up with your friend, I can help you," Eunuch Wei said with a smile.

"Really?" Hui Shuo's eyes widened in surprise.

"Of course it's true." Eunuch Wei smiled and raised his eyebrows.

"Alright, please take me to my parents." Hui Shuo smiled through his tears.

"Looking for...who are you looking for?" Eunuch Wei was taken aback.

“I… my friend…” Hui Shuo hurriedly changed his words.

“Alright, it’s the Old Man of the Moon, isn’t it? Come with me.” Eunuch Wei jumped over the barricade and waved to Hui Shuo.

Hui Shuo smiled and nodded, wiped the tears from his face with his sleeve, and slowly climbed over the barricade. Wei Gonggong slowly squatted down in front of the barricade, reached out and grabbed a handful of the remaining Yin energy after Yama and his party left. His expression was constantly changing as he used the Yin Soul Guide.

“Benefactor, shall we go?” Hui Shuo climbed over the barricade and came to Eunuch Wei’s side.

"Alright, let's go!" Eunuch Wei nodded with a smile and walked with Hui Shuo into the depths of the corridor.

At this moment, Wang Yao and the others had arrived at the door where he and the fairy met You Junda. Yama originally planned to go directly to the construction area, but he saw through the Yin Soul Guide that the door had been broken open, so he set the teleportation point next to this door.

"From here, there is a shortcut to the Three-Way Center. It is said that the two immortals from the Underworld Office and the Dao Master of the Peace Path on Floor Zero were trapped in the Three-Way Center. In the past, this door was locked from the back, and the only way to get to the Heart of the Three-Way Center was through another path."

"Now that this door is open, the distance to the Three-Way Center has been greatly shortened, and it won't interfere with our goals. What do you all think, should we go and take a look?" King Yama asked.

"Didn't you say we were going straight to destroy the enemy's lair? Why are we going to some Three-Way Center now?" Fairy Maiden asked, frowning, not wanting to cause any unnecessary trouble.
