Chapter 214 The Two Fingers of Spiritual Rhinoceros

"We're all working for the Heavenly Court, just a change in position, nothing serious." The fairy shook her head, speaking in an official tone, then pointed at Qin Su and asked, "I specifically instructed you to treat this little ghost girl carefully, so why are you queuing up here like the other ghosts?"

"This... Oh dear, didn't I tell you to come directly to me for follow-up visits and dialysis? Why haven't I seen you come over yet? I'm so busy here..." Dean Li was stunned by the fairy's question, then recognized Qin Su and hurriedly complained to her.

"I told you, I didn't want to bother you because I saw you were busy," Qin Su quickly explained to him.

"No matter how busy I am, it won't interfere with treating your illness. Isn't that what I'm here for?" Dean Li shook his head repeatedly.

"Alright, alright, give her some proper treatment. What kind of behavior is it to boil a young lady in a pot like this?" the fairy said, frowning.

"Um... Dean Li, is Hui Shuo here with you too?" Wang Yao asked about Hui Shuo's situation after seeing that Qin Su's matter was settled.

"Here he is, I've taken two of his magic fingers for him, and he's doing quite well. He's right behind me, I'll take you there." As Dean Li spoke, he gestured for Wang Yao and his group to push through the line of ghosts and head out.

Dean Li said to be behind him, but Wang Yao completely lost his sense of direction when he arrived here. All he saw were doors and rooms, and ghosts chatting and joking around in a queue with notes in their hands. He had no idea where the front or the back was, so he just followed Dean Li.

After passing through about ten rooms, the number of ghosts in line gradually decreased, and the rooms became more spacious. Wang Yao noticed that beds were being placed in the rooms behind, with ghosts lying on them and others taking care of them, much like patients in the human world.

Wang Yao noticed a significant difference in treatment before and after, and guessed that this must be a place where ghost leaders in the underworld received treatment.

The group followed Dean Li into a room. The room was small, with only a bed. There, they saw Hui Shuo, dressed in a blue striped hospital gown, leaning against the bed, holding a thick book and reading it with great concentration.

There are even private rooms here? It seems that Dean Li treats Hui Shuo differently and has specially arranged a quiet environment for him to recuperate.

Wang Yao knew that Hui Shuo was not highly educated and, apart from being able to recite a few Buddhist scriptures, he usually did not read miscellaneous books. When he saw that the book in Hui Shuo's hand did not look like a scripture, he couldn't help but wonder if Hui Shuo's education level had improved after changing his finger.

“Hui Shuo!” Wang Yao called out as he stepped through the door.

“Father…” As soon as Hui Shuo looked up and saw Wang Yao, tears welled up in his eyes. He threw off the covers and was about to get up when Wang Yao hurriedly stepped forward and pulled him into his arms.

"It was my fault this time, I'm sorry you had to suffer." Wang Yao gently patted Hui Shuo's back and apologized to him in a low voice.

These words only made things worse, as they caused Hui Shuo to cry even more bitterly. In no time, his tears had soaked through Wang Yao's robe. Wang Yao spent a long time comforting him and listening to Hui Shuo recount his experiences of being deceived by Eunuch Wei before he was finally able to calm Hui Shuo down.

He helped Hui Shuo lie down on the hospital bed and then noticed that the book Hui Shuo was reading was actually a thick comic book. The pictures were brightly colored, but they were all mixed together with strange and oddly shaped blocks of color, making it impossible to tell what the picture was.

It's like the work of a master of abstract painting in the human world.

"What is this?" Wang Yao asked in astonishment.

"Oh, these are underworld talismans, toys for little ghosts who are in a hurry. A little ghost was suffering from corpse qi and was brought here by his parents for treatment. They left him here. The little monk likes them quite a bit and has been looking at them for the past few days. I wonder if he has figured out anything about them yet," Dean Li said with a smile.

Wang Yao picked up the graffiti and flipped through a few pages. He saw that the colors were intense and the images were obscure, as if a ghost had scribbled them on randomly. But upon closer inspection, it seemed that there was some kind of pattern to follow. After looking at it for a few moments, he inexplicably felt restless.

He felt that the overlapping and intersecting colors, like a maze, made him extremely dizzy.

"What the hell is this? Why are you looking at it so intently?" Wang Yao quickly put down the comic and asked Hui Shuo.

"It's not some kind of ghost story, it's really good. Look, this is a Bodhisattva, and someone is kowtowing to him." Hui Shuo pointed to the comic book and said to Wang Yao, then turned to another page, "Look, here the Bodhisattva suddenly turns into a monster, and the person is terrified..."

Wang Yao stared at it for a long time, but couldn't figure out where the comic book looked like a Bodhisattva or a human. He concentrated for a moment, then felt dizzy and nauseous, so he had to put the comic book down and look at Hui Shuo's fingers again.

"How's your finger?" Wang Yao asked.

“Um… my finger has grown back, but it looks weird…” Hui Shuo held out his right hand, from which Yang Shen had torn off his finger, to Wang Yao to see.

"Strange? How so?" Wang Yao asked in astonishment.

“Uh…” Hui Shuo frowned, clearly not knowing how to say it.

"That's right, I tested it on the little monk. One of his two fingers can temporarily enhance the wisdom of living beings, and the other can make them temporarily dull. I call these two fingers the Spiritual Finger," Dean Li hurriedly said.

"Wisdom, stupidity? What's the use of that?" Wang Yao looked at the five fingers on Hui Shuo's outstretched hand that looked no different from each other, and felt completely bewildered.

You can say that a finger can kill someone or turn stone into gold, that's fine. At the very least, if rubbing that finger on your body can have a "self-cleaning" effect, that's good too. Wisdom and stupidity are rather vague concepts.

Unless someone is an idiot, wisdom and foolishness are relative concepts. How can one be wise? How can one be foolish? What is the basis for this judgment?
