Chapter 217 Entering the System

Wang Yao knew that the main event of this visit to the creative group was in the Ghost's Destiny Archives.

Fang Chengxian and Qin Su's fates aren't a big problem; the key issue is finding clues about the Great Calamity of Corpse Qi. This is a huge undertaking, requiring the examination of many ghosts' fate records, and it might not be possible to find any leads in a short time.

So let's start with the human realm and see if Qin Su can crack the code of the destiny archives. If she can, then we'll change Mo Luopo and Zhen Huai's destinies first, and then go see the immortals to settle things with Xi Fu.

Finally, they sat down and slowly spent time in the Netherworld Ghost's Destiny Archives, searching for the cause of the Great Calamity of Corpse Qi.

"Let's look at the human realm first," Wang Yao said to Gao Qunzhu after making up his mind.

Gao Qunzhu nodded, took out his key, and opened the door to the Human Realm Destiny Archives. Wang Yao went in and saw Gao Qunzhu turn on a computer and bring up the Human Realm Destiny System. Three images appeared on the computer screen: "Past," "Present," and "Future."

"Um... Group Leader Gao, this is none of your business. Just give me the keys to the Immortal Realm and Underworld Destiny Archives, and go about your business," Wang Yao said to Group Leader Gao.

Wang Yao didn't know how long he would have to stay here, and this man surnamed Gao was unwilling to stay and was getting in his way. He felt it would be easier for him to get things done if he asked him to leave.

“What do I have to do? All the dozens of fortune-telling projects I was working on have fallen apart, and I don’t even know how to pick them up again,” Gao Qunzhu sobbed.

Hearing how pitiful Gao Qunzhu sounded, Wang Yao couldn't very well send him away directly. He could only wave his hand, telling Gao Qunzhu to leave the chair in front of the computer and gesturing for Qin Su to sit down.

“Look, I want to modify the fates of a few mortals in the human realm, but according to them, the code to modify fates has long been lost,” Wang Yao said.

Qin Su nodded and sat down in front of the computer. As soon as she sat down, her whole demeanor changed. She exuded a confident and composed air, and her ten fingers began to tap rapidly on the keyboard. The interface of the Human Realm Destiny System kept flashing and disappearing.

In a short period of time, she kept switching between the past, present, and future interfaces. Sometimes she would enter several pages in a row on a certain interface, but before Wang Yao could see them clearly, she would exit them one after another.

"This is the oldest Ghost 010 system. The encryption isn't complicated. Do you want to modify the present or the future of those mortals?" Qin Su asked suddenly, staring at the screen after operating it for a while.

Wang Yao was taken aback by the question. Modify the present or the future? Logically, it should be the future. Right now, Molopo might be catching fish or selling fish. What's there to modify? But... since the fortune-telling system has an option to modify the "present," it can't be that pointless, can it?

"What do you say now? What do you say about the future?" Wang Yao asked, frowning.

"This is the present life, the future is the next life." Qin Su ignored him, her eyes fixed on the screen, still typing away. The one who spoke was the Three-Headed Ghost King, who was standing by the door with a curious look in his eyes.

“Oh…” Wang Yao suddenly realized, recalling that when he was here before, Xiao Jiang asked him if Mo Luopo was still in the human world. He was stunned at the time, but only now did he truly understand the real meaning of past, present and future in the system.

"Now," Wang Yao said hastily. He only needed to resolve matters of this life; what did it matter to him what happened to Mo Luopo or Zhen Huai in his next life?

As he spoke, he looked at the computer screen, only to find that the normal page was no longer displayed, but instead lines of text, somewhat like the DOS system he had seen when learning about computers before his transmigration. However, the DOS system was entirely in foreign languages, while this one was entirely in human language.

"Incorrect password. You have three more attempts..."

"Entering program editing..."

"Create an automatic password cracking program..."

"First character selection..."

"Try using all characters across the entire system; if they match the original characters, retain them..."

"Secondary character selection..."

Wang Yao watched as lines of text appeared on the computer screen. This was unlike the DOS system, where strings of foreign characters appeared, making it as difficult to understand as reading gibberish. Here, it was all written in human language, which Wang Yao could understand. Qin Su was writing a program to crack a password.

As she typed her commands line by line on the computer screen, the room fell silent except for the constant sound of the keyboard.

Hui Shuo smiled, as if he knew what Qin Su was doing, nodding repeatedly as her hands moved across the keyboard. The Three-Headed Ghost King watched silently by the door, his eyes occasionally flashing with divine light. Only Gao Qunzhu stared at the screen, a pained expression on his face.

It was as if he was watching Qin Su demolish his house, and he seemed to feel very sorry for her.

As several clear tapping sounds fell, Qin Su leaned back slightly, and Wang Yao saw the computer screen scroll rapidly, with dense characters falling like rain, filling the entire screen in the blink of an eye.

These characters had no connection or meaning; it was as if all the human and foreign characters and symbols had been copied onto the screen and were scrolling down in dense, dense text. Qin Su sat there, having stopped typing.

"Is it done?" Wang Yao stared in astonishment at the computer screen, which seemed to trigger trypophobia, and asked uncertainly.

"I wrote a quick password-cracking program, not sure if it'll work, let's see," Qin Su said casually, but then her eyes lit up. "It should be about right!"
