Chapter 260 Qinghe

"Father...this...this little girl is so pitiful, we can't let anyone kill her." Hui Shuo stammered.

"I am here. You can say what you have to say now. There are women here, so you don't need to use your seductive skills." Lady Lian spoke coldly.

"This...this is something I was born with. I dare not be disrespectful in front of...Lady Lian."

The little girl hurriedly answered softly. Her clear voice carried a hint of sorrow, fear, and grievance, which made Wang Yao's heart ache again. He couldn't help but want to go down and untie her, apply medicine to treat her wounds, and cherish her.

"Hmm? Is this all you wanted to say to me?" Lady Lian asked.

"No...no...I...I am Qinghe of the Liang tribe. I followed the noble army to report a major secret to Madam. I had no other intentions," the girl said.

"What secret?" Lady Lian's voice remained completely calm.

"Your subordinate... Although I was born into the Liang tribe, I have always longed to be a noble. I even participated in a Liang tribe delegation and visited the nobles. Lady Lian, you even summoned me. Lady Lian, have you... have you forgotten Qinghe?" Qinghe asked timidly.

"Have you seen me before? Back then, my Yi tribe and your Liang tribe were on good terms, and our envoys exchanged visits, so we naturally followed proper etiquette. But now the Liang tribe has disrupted our borders and seized our cities, and our two tribes have become enemies. There's no need to bring up the past. Just tell me what secret you brought with you?"

Lady Lian hesitated for a moment when Qinghe asked her the question, but quickly regained her composure.

Hearing Madam Lian's words, Qinghe blinked her eyes with a wronged expression, and the tears that were welling up in her eyes immediately flowed down, like two crystal dewdrops sliding down her not-so-clean, but still fair-skinned face, making Wang Yao feel a pang of pain in his heart.

"Madam may have forgotten Qinghe, but Qinghe has never forgotten Madam. Back when we returned to Wangxiang Valley from Muyi City, Madam's image filled my mind and eyes every single day. Madam stood on that high red jade platform, so bright that one could hardly open their eyes..."

"Enough! Enough with the nonsense. I'm tired of flattery after a lifetime of it. I won't take your words anymore. If you don't get to the point, my children are still hungry!" Lady Lian interrupted Qinghe's soft words with a sharp voice, making Wang Yao's heart clench.

The old beggar woman actually wanted to eat this delicate and timid little girl in front of her! Damn it, she's even more of a beast than a wild animal! As an immortal, I absolutely cannot let this stinking old woman's plan come true.

"But... Madam, could you please untie me first? My arm is injured and it hurts terribly... And... And... With so many sisters here, even if I wanted to run away... I... I couldn't escape, could I?" Qinghe seemed frightened by Madam Lian, and spoke haltingly.

"Hehe, I didn't expect you little fox to be so good at bargaining?" Madam Lian smiled in surprise, then slowly shook her big head.

"Let me tell you the truth: if what you say is useful, I won't mind sparing your life. But if you keep dragging your feet and testing my patience, then you can be enjoyed by my children right now!"

Before she finished speaking, a red light suddenly appeared on Madam Lian's body and shot straight toward Qing He's face like lightning.

"oops!"

"Please, female benefactor, no..."

Two voices, one female and one male, rang out almost simultaneously. One was Qinghe, who collapsed to the ground upon seeing the red light rushing towards her. The other was Huishuo, who was standing next to Wang Yao.

Wang Yao grabbed Hui Shuo by the back of the neck, stopping him from jumping off Lady Lian's body.

"Father, Mother...she...she's going to kill the little girl..." Hui Shuo stammered urgently to Wang Yao.

"Open your eyes and look, the little girl isn't dead!" Wang Yao gestured with his chin toward Qing He and said irritably.

There, Qinghe sat slumped on the ground, seemingly lost in thought, her hands supporting her behind her back. The ropes binding her had been broken.

The red light that Lady Lian shot out suddenly leaped up in front of Qinghe, passing over her head and behind her, cutting the ropes binding her. This swift movement not only frightened Qinghe but also startled Huishuo.

"You little fox, you have so little courage? Now that the bonds are loosened, you can talk now, right?" Lady Lian's tone was calm, as if nothing had happened.

"Madam... your magic is so profound, Qinghe thought she was going to die... please... please let Qinghe calm down..." Qinghe stammered, but couldn't help glancing at Wang Yao and Hui Shuo on Madam Lian's shoulder.

“Alright…” Lady Lian nodded, and another red light slowly appeared in front of her.

"No! Madam... the news is confidential, please... please..." Qinghe hurriedly shouted, then looked around repeatedly, meaning that she wanted Madam Lian to clear the area and leave only the two of them to talk.

"What a joke! It seems you know very little about my Yi clan. There could be no traitors in my Yi clan. These are all my children. You can speak freely without worry," Lady Lian said coldly.

"Hey, my son and I are requesting to recuse ourselves. We're not your children!" Upon hearing Madam Lian's words, Wang Yao was furious.

"Stop making a fuss. The Immortal is a distinguished guest of our clan. Our Yi clan has nothing to hide from the Immortal." Lady Lian said irritably. In Lady Lian's mind, Wang Yao was the anchor of peace around the Yi clan. How could she let them leave so easily?

"Madam... are those two... are immortals on your shoulders?" Qinghe asked curiously.

"Sigh, young lady, Qinghe, right?" Wang Yao sighed. "If you have any news, speak up quickly. Don't keep rambling on and on, or you might anger the Madam and she might suddenly kill you. Even if we want to save you, it will be too late."
