Wang Yao then chose Princess Jinxiu, only to see her turn around in front of the dressing mirror, seemingly talking to someone. Then she jumped up and hurriedly darted out of the frame.
The scene then shifts, and Princess Jinxiu is seen flapping her wings and flying through the air, followed by a group of Yi Clan warriors. Wang Yao recognizes several of them; they are the personal guards that Lady Lian sent to protect Jinxiu.
"This must be the first coincidence?" Wang Yao thought to himself. Perhaps Jinxiu heard that her mother had sent out personal warriors to protect her, and she was worried about her mother's safety, so she wanted to come and protect Lady Lian.
To Wang Yao's astonishment, what followed was a complete surprise. Jinxiu suddenly veered in mid-air and disappeared into a mud-pillar building next to her. The light suddenly dimmed, and a group of Yi Clan warriors quickly filled the screen.
Then the scene shifts again, this time to a winding, long corridor. The corridor is tall and wide, with the brocade still flying around, and the warriors sent by Lady Lian following closely behind. Warriors also keep appearing on both sides of the corridor.
Jinxiu flew forward along the corridor, gradually descending. Wang Yao could see that as she flew past, the exits on one side of the corridor were being sealed off, and the number of Yi Clan warriors inside the corridor was increasing, as if they were setting up layers of guards.
"Holy crap! Is she looking for a place to hide? This... are five coincidences enough?" Wang Yao's heart pounded. If Jinxiu had gone out, it would have been fine, but she had hidden inside the Mud Pillar Building. How could five coincidences possibly connect her to Commander Lang?
Since acquiring the system, this was the first time Wang Yao had doubted the matchmaker's ability to create coincidences. However, at that moment, Lang Shuai suddenly shouted.
"Who said we're extinct!"
Upon hearing this shout, Lady Lian, Wang Yao, and the Yi tribe warriors who had just arrived stared at him in astonishment. The Yi tribe warriors from Xiaofei City had never been to Haochuan City, so they naturally did not know the reason. Wang Yao and Lady Lian were slightly taken aback, but they had already guessed what was going on.
It turns out that Lang Shuai's son, Lang Ren, killed all of his brothers and sisters, as well as all of Lang Shuai's wives, and even his own mother. So if Lang Shuai had killed Lang Ren, he would have been completely cut off from his lineage. This must have been a huge blow to Lang Shuai.
Why is he shouting like that? Could it be that... he's been triggered by something again?
But then, General Lang, his face full of excitement, leaped up and flew to Lady Lian's side.
"My lady, I suddenly remembered that thirty years ago, I had a brief affair with a woman of the Mud Clan in my tribe. Later, I heard that she gave birth to several of my children. At the time, I was preoccupied with important matters of the tribe and did not pay any attention to it. Now that I think about it, it is truly a blessing from heaven!"
"Please allow me, Madam, to go and rescue my mud-born wife and children," General Lang said urgently to Madam Lian.
"This..." Lady Lian was stunned when she heard this.
She was hoping that Lang Shuai would become her son-in-law, but unexpectedly, this guy suddenly had another wife from the Mud Clan. Her thoughts were in turmoil. She wanted to scold Lang Shuai for being too promiscuous, but she also wanted to keep him in the Yi Clan. For a moment, she didn't know how to answer him.
“Madam, the Mud Seedlings were originally an inferior race of the Zhanghuang tribe. Now, they have been designated as slaves by that beast Lang Ren, and their survival is extremely precarious. I am afraid that if I go too late, my wife and children will be tortured to death. Please, Madam, have mercy and allow me to go to their rescue immediately.”
Marshal Lang repeatedly bowed and pleaded with Lady Lian.
"Since Lang Ren was able to kill all your relatives, how could he allow your mud-blooded wife and children to live until now?" Lady Lian asked, puzzled.
"No, no! Nobody knows about this except for her and me." Upon hearing this, Lang Shuai hurriedly shook his head and then recounted to Madam Lian the whole story of how he met the mud-seed woman named Fengchao.
Wang Yao guessed that Commander Lang had probably just remembered this melodramatic plot and was therefore quite eager to confide in others. Otherwise, discussing his fleeting affair with another woman, even if it was just to get Lady Lian to allow him to leave, would be rather awkward.
However, the temperament of demons in the demon realm is not the same as that of humans. It is not impossible that demons would be proud of what humans consider shameful experiences.
In short, thirty years ago, Commander Lang inspected a place called Jiuxi City within the Zhanghuang tribe. While in Jiuxi City, he heard that the work in Luanshi City, which was adjacent to it, was even better. On a whim, he went to Luanshi City to take a look.
The name "Luan Shi Cheng" (乱石城) suggests a place of desolation and hardship. This is why the Zhang Huang clan entrusted the city to the lowly Mud Clan, showing an irresponsible attitude of leaving them to fend for themselves.
However, when Lang Shuai went there, he was amazed to find that Luanshi City was very well built. Apart from the terrible roads to the outside world, the city itself was more prosperous and beautiful than most of the cities of the Zhanghuang tribe.
It was precisely because of the inconvenient roads that Commander Lang had a momentary illusion that this chaotic stone city was like a paradise.
He couldn't help but get excited and lingered in Luanshi City for two consecutive days. Before leaving on the second day, he treated the leadership of Luanshi City to a big meal. During the meal, he decided to increase the clan's investment in Luanshi City and make it a star city for the Zhanghuang clan.
During the banquet, Lang Shuai noticed a beautiful female of the Mud Clan. The reason was simple: there was only one female at the banquet, and that was Feng Chao, the then Minister of Women's Affairs of Luan Shi City.
No matter what kind of banquet it is, as long as there is only one woman among a group of men at the table, that woman will inevitably become the focus of the banquet. Even if the emperor is there, it won't matter. This is true for General Lang, and it is the same in every world.
