Chapter 274 Reassurance

“No, that won’t do. This is the middle of nowhere. You have to come back to Muyi City with me.” Wang Yao shook his head repeatedly upon hearing this, knowing that Qin Su was wandering around like a ghost here, and he couldn’t stay there if he went back.

"No, no, no, I... I'm... it's inconvenient for me after all," Qin Su hurriedly refused.

“What do you mean it’s inconvenient? I say it’s convenient, so it’s convenient. You’re coming to Mother City with me. Besides, can we wait for that news? If the Fairy Maiden gives an important order and I can’t come here, wouldn’t that delay important matters? You must stay with me,” Wang Yao said decisively.

"I...I still..." Qin Su was still hesitating.

"Stop dawdling. It's been a long time since we siblings have seen each other. Let's take this opportunity to catch up." As he spoke, Wang Yao put his coat back on and turned to ride the fat worm.

"Come with me. I've already introduced you to Lady Lian. I have a ghost sister, so what? Anyone who dares to say a word against it, I'll teach them a lesson." Wang Yao muttered arrogantly as he flew towards the City of Mother. Qin Su hesitated for a moment, but still followed him, floating along.

"Hey! Why haven't you left yet?" Wang Yao had just flown a short distance when he was surprised to find Qing He standing in front of him.

"You...you stay away!" Qinghe cried out as she saw Wang Yao backing away.

"Damn it, I'm going back to Muyi City, but where am I going? Didn't I tell you to leave? Why are you still here?" Wang Yao cursed angrily.

"I... there are Yi people everywhere here, where do you expect me to go? Wherever I go, I'll just die anyway!" Qinghe stammered, then glared at Wang Yao and argued.

"Uh...that's true. Looks like I didn't think things through?" Hearing Qinghe's words, Wang Yao scratched his head and sighed deeply. "What a damn hassle!"

He turned to look at Qin Su, then turned to look at Qing He, and after thinking for a moment, simply waved to Qing He.

"It seems I'll have to wait until it's convenient before letting you go back. Come on over, let me introduce you to a friend." Since she was going to bring Qinghe back anyway, Qin Su couldn't keep it from her. After all, having a demon and a ghost living in the same house would cause some unnecessary alarm.

"What...what are you going to do? I...I'm not going!" Qinghe hurriedly refused in a shrill voice.

Wang Yao ignored her and instead shook his head behind him. A cloud of mist slowly twisted and took shape beside Wang Yao in the darkness, transforming into the appearance of a beautiful woman who bowed deeply to Qing He.

"Qin Su from the Underworld greets Miss," Qin Su said softly.

"You... what are you... could you... be... a ghost?!" Qinghe stared at Qin Su in disbelief, her mouth agape. She was both curious and horrified, and she couldn't help but take several steps back, stammering as she asked.

"What do you mean by 'ghost'? This is my sister Qin Su, and she's also a member of our Heavenly Court investigation team. You have to call her 'sister' from now on, and you're not allowed to call her 'ghost' like that," Wang Yao said irritably from the side.

At this moment, Qinghe finally woke up as if from a dream. She had seen Wang Yao talking to her peacefully, but suddenly he darted to the side, gesturing and muttering to himself. The more she watched, the more frightened she became. She was much less experienced than Madam Lian and couldn't tell if there was a ghost there.

She felt that Wang Yao had suddenly become sinister, exuding a terrifying and evil aura. She thought that Wang Yao was either mentally unstable or was using some kind of evil magic to deal with her, so she was so frightened that she ran away.

However, the farther she ran, the more uneasy she felt. She always felt that something was lurking in the boundless darkness around her, about to pounce on her, as if there were unknown and terrifying things watching her from every corner she couldn't see clearly.

So Qinghe ran and ran until she was trembling all over and could no longer run. But even though she was in the vast wilderness, her fear did not diminish at all.

After much deliberation, Qinghe mustered her courage and decided to turn back. She secretly reminded herself that in the end, it was just death, and she would see what kind of evil magic Wang Yao used.

After all, her magical powers have now been restored. When she really can't hold on any longer, all she has to do is commit suicide. She's not even afraid of death, so why would she be afraid of suicide?

And just like that, Qinghe returned. Strangely enough, when Wang Yao's figure appeared in her field of vision, her fear suddenly lessened considerably. Although Wang Yao was still there, gesturing wildly at the air, it gave Qinghe a sense of security.

"Then... who exactly are you..." Qinghe looked at Qin Su, her curiosity burning. She had initially guessed that Qin Su might be a ghost after hearing Qin Su say that she came from the underworld, but Wang Yao's words were unclear, making her unsure.

After all, she had only ever heard about the underworld in her life and had no idea whether there were any other species besides ghosts in the underworld.

Moreover, although her fear of Wang Yao had lessened considerably, she was still afraid that Qin Su was a powerful tool Wang Yao was using against her, so she dared not act rashly in the slightest.

"That's right, I am indeed a ghost," Qin Su said softly.

“This girl is called Qinghe, from the Liang tribe. She was captured by the Yi tribe and taken prisoner. I want to release her, but this is the heartland of the Yi tribe, and she may not be able to escape. So I have to wait for a chance to release her later. You two stay together for now. Keep an eye on her for me. This girl is very unruly.”

Wang Yao turned to Qin Su and gave her some more instructions.

"No wonder, I noticed you appearing and disappearing intermittently. Are all ghosts able to become invisible?" Qinghe ignored Wang Yao's words and instead asked Qin Su with increasing curiosity.
