“Uh… okay…” The warriors of the Yi tribe made way, watching with curiosity as Qin Su, Wang Yao, and Qing He entered the Mother City.
Back at the No. 1 Protocol Building, Wang Yao was about to face another round of polite questioning from Xiao Jing, which he brushed off with the excuse of being Mrs. Lian before leading Qin Su and Qing He into his room.
"Here, since you smashed this room, you'll have to live here by yourself. Qin Su, you'll stay in this room." Wang Yao told Qing He to continue living in the secretary's room, which had been smashed to pieces, and arranged for Qin Su to stay in the master bedroom.
"Sister Qin Su, is that white ribbon on your head really a magic weapon?" Qing He didn't take Wang Yao's arrangements to heart and continued to ask Qin Su questions like a curious child.
"Be careful, don't touch her, it's not good for you," Wang Yao reminded Qinghe, seeing her standing too close to Qin Su.
Fairies and immortals are different. When a ghost touches an immortal, it will be burned, but when a ghost touches a demon, the demon will be corroded by yin energy. Of course, the resistance of powerful demons to ghosts will vary depending on their realm. These are similar to the situation of mortals.
"Tch, what's with the attitude? Sister Qin Su and I are both women, you're just a stinky man, you can't just touch us!" Qinghe rolled her eyes at Wang Yao.
“My elder brother is right. We ghosts do have a lot of taboos. If you run into them, it won’t be good for you…” Qin Su hurriedly explained for Wang Yao.
"Are you really siblings? How come he's an immortal and you've become a ghost? What kind of older brother acts like this? Why are you still paying attention to him?" Qinghe asked Wang Yao in astonishment.
"No...that's not how it is..." Qin Su quickly shook her head, embarrassed.
Hearing the demon and the ghost chatting so enthusiastically, and considering that he still had some things to do with Commander Lang, Wang Yao reminded Qin Su to rest and told Qing He to say less. Then he left the room's magic array in place and slipped out to find Commander Lang.
"According to Pang Zhen, it can now be confirmed that a large number of former slaves of the Zhanghuang tribe have escaped and settled in the area from the north of Nanhe City all the way to the heartland of the Yi tribe. I have asked Lady Lian to show mercy to these people and order the Yi tribe not to hunt them down."
"But with them living scattered like this, without food or clothing, it's hard to guarantee that no accidents will happen. Lady Lian's idea is to designate a few areas within the territory of the Yi tribe so that they can have a place to live first. This would also make it easier for you, Commander Lang, to command them in a unified manner, and in the future, it would be easier to fight back and let them return to their homeland."
Wang Yao sat on the sofa in Lang Shuai's room, chatting animatedly. Aside from lacking an indoor swimming pool, Lang Shuai's room was otherwise identical to Wang Yao's.
After listening to Wang Yao's words with his head down, Lang Shuai sighed deeply.
"Lord Yue Lao, you may not know this, but after this great change, Commander Lang no longer has the ambition to fight for anything. Think about it, these sixty slave tribes were originally not as strong as my wicked son. Moreover, they have been hunted down by their own tribe and the Yi tribe, and have been forced to wander. How many of them can be left now?"
“If my commander were to lead them back to the Yellow race, how could they withstand it? Besides, my commander is of Yellow race after all. I cannot bring myself to exterminate my own race, even if it means killing a portion of them. Let’s not bring this up again.”
Lang replied dejectedly.
"But... are you just going to leave those escaped slaves to their fate?" Wang Yao asked in astonishment.
"If Lady Lian is merciful, let them fend for themselves among the Yi tribe. I, Commander Lang, am too busy taking care of myself to care for them. I only hope to marry Princess Jinxiu as soon as possible and give her this body, and that will be enough," Commander Lang said with a shake of his head and a sigh.
"This..." Wang Yao was stunned for a long time. He never expected that he would run into a snag with Commander Lang. It seemed that he had no choice but to call Princess Jinxiu over to do some work. Damn it, reasoning with him didn't work. He could only try to win him over with his sincerity.
Having failed to reach a conclusion with Commander Lang, Wang Yao considered visiting Lady Lian again. However, he had only been there a short time ago, and if he went there again now, Lady Lian would likely continue to persuade him to enter the harem, which would be a difficult situation.
Wang Yao hesitated for a moment, then decided to go into Hui Shuo's room to take a look. Since the monk arrived, he had been hiding in the room, and he wondered what he was doing. He didn't want to get bored. With that thought, Wang Yao ran to the door next door. Just as he was about to knock, he suddenly heard a commotion coming from below.
"Please go and inform them again that I wish to see Lady Lian. We two are on a mission assigned by Lady Lian, and you must allow us to return the mission."
"Please return to your rooms, gentlemen. I have already informed the Empress that you have returned. She has asked you to rest for the time being. If the Empress needs anything, she will certainly summon you."
Tongxuan and Xiaojing were arguing down below. Wang Yao chuckled. Tongxuan and Pudu had finally returned to Muyi City. Perhaps they could go and persuade Commander Lang again.
"Great Immortal Tongxuan, come up and speak!" Wang Yao then called out from the side of Huishuo Gate.
"Lord Yue Lao, you're still up so late?" Tong Xuan and Pu Du rushed up upon hearing this. Wang Yao smiled and waved to them, then gently knocked on Hui Shuo's door.
"Who is it? Wait a minute!" Hui Shuo's voice came from inside the door. A moment later, the ancient stone door of VIP Room No. 2 creaked open, and Hui Shuo's round head appeared.
"What are you doing? Staying inside all the time instead of going out for a walk?" Wang Yao led Tongxuan and Pudu into the room.
"It's nothing, I'm listening to Buddhist teachings," Hui Shuo replied as they walked into the living room.
Wang Yao then noticed that the food box delivered by the concierge that evening was lying on the coffee table in front of the sofa in the living room. It was empty and had been eaten. The concave TV facing the sofa was paused, and the picture showed a vast ocean with several people splashing around on it.
