As Wang Yao ate, he glanced up at the banquet hall and noticed that the ambassadors from various ethnic groups across from him, apart from those who were busy running around offering toasts, were all sitting and eating with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the Mao ethnic monks on his side, like the two beside him, were also eating with their heads down, nodding and swaying their heads, thoroughly enjoying themselves.
However, everyone in the Shu clan, including Qiao Bushi, seemed to have little appetite for the braised pork knuckles in front of them. Almost no one touched them, and the sight of the bright red pork knuckles sitting there made Wang Yao anxious.
"Clan Chief Qiao, why aren't you eating? Although this isn't anything rare, the Mao Clan is really going all out by serving each guest one at once." Qianqiu said with a smile as he approached Qiao Bushi with a wine cup.
He had been so captivated by Qinghe's seductive arts that he hadn't paid any attention to the other monsters in the banquet hall. After the free time, Tian Sifei hurriedly went downstairs, toasted him, and reminded him to also toast Qiao Bushi, Mimi, and other important monsters at the banquet.
Whether it was because he was disturbed by Tian Sifei and was in a bad mood, or because the negotiations did not go smoothly and he was angry, Qianqiu went directly to Qiao Bushi and loudly questioned him. His voice was infused with demonic power, and the entire hall could hear what he said.
"There are three things I will never eat in my life, and this is one of them," Qiao Bushi said calmly, glancing at Qianqiu.
“Young Master Qianqiu, everyone has their own preferences. There’s no need to force Chief Qiao if he doesn’t want to eat this. It seems that Ambassador Mimi was indeed a bit hasty in preparing the dishes. But as long as the Shu Clan joins the tribal alliance, Chief Qiao will be able to get whatever he wants to eat, right?” Tian Sifei quickly tried to smooth things over.
Although the snow rat's thigh was meant to intimidate the Shu tribe, it had to be used in moderation. Besides, it was the Mao tribe that had offended the Shu tribe, and the Hu tribe didn't need to reopen old wounds.
"Ambassador Tian, I don't like hearing you say that. Why do we, the Holy Domain race, have so many taboos?" Qianqiu was speaking when Tian Sifei casually pointed, and a thin, transparent light shield appeared around them. Qianqiu's voice disappeared completely in an instant.
All you could see was them moving their mouths, while Qiao Bushi and Mimi's faces grew increasingly grim, and Tian Sifei's expression became more and more awkward.
Upon seeing it, Wang Yao immediately understood that the Shu tribe probably did not like to eat this pork knuckle. He didn't know the specific reason, but there was clearly some taboo surrounding it.
Rats are omnivorous, what could they possibly be afraid of? Wang Yao didn't understand, and he was too lazy to figure it out. All he saw were those pork knuckles on the platform that hadn't been touched at all. These were all opportunities!
Even ignoring the few Mao monks here, there are still dozens of untouched pork knuckles on the platform. Damn it, Wang Yao glanced at the back of the head of a Shu official in front of him, frowned, and came up with an idea. He quietly took out the interface panel and arranged a marriage between the two Shu officials in front of him.
These two officials were actually attendants accompanying their superior to the banquet. Their opinions on the snow rat thighs were unknown, but since their superior and chieftain hadn't touched them, even if the two wanted to eat them, they refrained from opening their mouths.
Moreover, ever since the pork knuckle was served, and especially after Qianqiu spoke, the atmosphere in the banquet hall became a bit strange. The two of them nervously watched every move on the main stage, completely unaware that Wang Yao had tampered with their actions behind the scenes.
A gentle breeze swept through the banquet hall, and an official's glove fell to the ground in front of Wang Yao. He bent down to pick it up, but his colleague sitting next to him also saw it and hurriedly reached out, resulting in their hands touching.
"Brother Wang, I can do it myself."
"Brother Fang, let me help you."
"Brother Wang, how can I ever repay you for this?"
"Brother Fang, I don't want your repayment. I just want you to remember my kindness."
"Of course I know how good you are, brother, but I cannot hide it from you, brother, that I already have a wife..."
“Brother Fang, our hearts are intertwined; how can those outdated rules and customs hold us back?”
...
In just a few words, the two men's eyes were fixed on each other. Wang Yao put the half-eaten pork knuckle into his Qiankun (a magical device), stood up, and quietly slipped over with a wine glass in hand. Qiankun opened again and silently took the two pork knuckles into his account.
“You…” Two Shu officials nearby noticed Wang Yao’s odd behavior and looked at him in astonishment.
"Uh... cheers... cheers..." Without saying a word, Wang Yao pretended to offer a toast, and another marriage was arranged.
Overwhelmed by love, they couldn't care less about the snow rat's thigh, which already caused them so much conflict, or even if there were truly delicacies in front of them.
After Wang Yao had taken seven or eight elbows in a row, the two Mao tribe monks sitting behind him finally lifted their heads off the snow rat's legs.
This thing was a rare item for them. The Mao tribe liked to eat rats, and snow rat legs were especially delicious. So the two relaxed their surveillance of Wang Yao for a moment. When they looked up, they found that Wang Yao was not by their side. Then they saw that the kid was toasting the Shu tribe officials.
The two monks vanished from their seats and appeared silently beside Wang Yao.
"Cheers... Cheers..."
The two monks originally intended to pretend to offer a toast to see which Shu official Wang Yao was talking to, but they immediately noticed that the Shu official in front of Wang Yao was acting strangely. He wasn't looking at them at all, but was exchanging flirtatious glances with an official next to him, making obsequious gestures that would make demons nauseous.
Wang Yao noticed the two monks approaching, but he remained expressionless while his fingers quietly traced across the interface panel.
