Chapter 300 Deception

"What are you talking about? Escort? We enjoy diplomatic immunity. Does your Shu tribe want to take coercive measures against us diplomats? Chief Qiao, you should think carefully!" Upon hearing Qiao Bushi's words, the ambassadors immediately voiced their opposition.

"As long as the ambassadors return to their respective embassies and the members of the delegations return to their guesthouses, we powerful figures will simply be your guards. Everything the Shu Clan does is for the safety of the ambassadors," Qiao said loudly.

As they spoke, a hundred or so powerful figures from the Shu ethnic group surged into the banquet hall, with more than one standing behind almost every ambassador.

Luo Nairong glanced at the four or five cold-faced Shu clan powerhouses beside him, then turned to Qinghe and whispered, "Your Highness, let's... let's go back to the embassy. You're still hungry, aren't you? I... I'll go back and have the embassy's cook make you something else."

He wholeheartedly supported Qiao Bushi's arrangements and only wanted to return to the embassy with Qinghe as soon as possible. If everything went smoothly, he might even have a chance to express his feelings to Qinghe. Therefore, he hurriedly tried to persuade Qinghe as well.

"No way! Wherever Princess Qinghe goes, I will go, and no one can stop me!" An ambassador next to Luo Nairong suddenly shouted. His shout was echoed by the other ambassadors, and the banquet hall was filled with noise.

"Hey Luo, hurry up and tell your clan chief Qingning that Hu Sai from the Shi clan has taken a fancy to your princess and is going to send betrothal gifts to marry her," a gruff voice shouted.

"Pah! Shameless! Your ugly appearance is an insult to a delicate beauty like Princess Qinghe. I strongly object!" Before Luo Nairong could object, another voice immediately shouted.

"Damn you, Zhong the Cripple, do I have to beat you up before you wake up?" Hu Sai's expression changed, and he shouted angrily.

"Let's fight! Whoever wins gets Princess Qinghe!" The cripple Zhong showed no fear whatsoever.

"Everyone, have you forgotten how Ning Xian and Qian Qiu died? Stop fighting over love and think about how to explain this to the clan alliance!" Qiao Bushi roared angrily.

“What does Qianqiu’s death have to do with us? He died in your Shu clan, so of course it’s your Shu clan that should explain it!” an ambassador shouted immediately.

“That’s right, we’ve already joined the tribal alliance, how could we have killed the alliance leader’s own grandson? It must be a problem with your Shu tribe.” Another ambassador chimed in.

"You..." Qiao Bu Shi laughed angrily, waved his hand lightly, and ordered his subordinates, "Send them all back."

"Who dares to move?" the Tengyan clan ambassador, dressed in a red robe, shouted sternly.

These ambassadors are all powerful figures from their respective ethnic groups. If they insist on not following the Shu tribe's arrangements, even though the Shu tribe's imperial guards are of a higher rank than most of the ambassadors present, it will likely lead to a fierce melee.

"Everyone, this happened suddenly. The Shu tribe needs to treat Ambassador Tian and track down the murderer. Let's not cause any more trouble. Mimi, let's go first!" Unexpectedly, Mimi spoke up at this moment.

Upon hearing this, several Mao monks rushed forward and, supporting Mimi and Mihu, left the banquet hall surrounded by powerful Shu guards.

“Ambassador Mimi is right. Although we have nothing to do with the deaths of Ning Xian and Qian Qiu, staying any longer would interfere with the Shu Clan’s efforts to treat the wounded and track down the murderer. It would be better to leave first.” Another ambassador, who was quick-witted, also understood immediately. He turned to look at Qing He as he spoke.

“Princess Qinghe, I am Hu Wencai, the ambassador of the Ximoqiu tribe to the Shu tribe. I have long admired your name, and today I am truly amazed by your beauty. I had hoped to get to know you better, but unfortunately, something went wrong at the banquet. For the sake of my tribe, I must avoid any suspicion for now.”

"I will definitely visit Wangxiang Valley later." He bowed deeply to Qinghe, then left the banquet hall, with two powerful Shu clan guards hurrying after him.

Hu Wencai's long message awakened all the monsters present. They looked at each other, nodded slowly, and first introduced themselves to Qinghe, expressing their feelings openly or subtly. Then they left one after another.

Although Wang Yao arranged their marriage with Qinghe, it didn't completely throw them off balance. Even with a beautiful woman in front of them, staying would inevitably lead to suspicion, as Mimi and Hu Wencai had said. It was a place of trouble, so it was best to leave as soon as possible.

As for Qinghe, there will be plenty of opportunities to pursue her in the future, so there's no need to rush.

As the ambassadors took their leave one by one, the Shu ethnic minister's expression grew increasingly anxious.

"Chieftain..." He couldn't help but want to say something to Qiao Bushi, but Qiao Bushi raised his hand and stopped the words that the Shu chieftain was about to say.

Minister Shu's eyes widened. He was no inexperienced young man and naturally knew that the deaths of Qianqiu and Ning Caichen were of great importance. He had been watching the scene and knew that Qianqiu and Ning Caichen had indeed died at the hands of these ambassadors. How could they be released so easily?

The best course of action in this kind of murder case is to immediately seal off the scene, examine the bodies of Qianqiu and Ning Caichen, and then use the demonic energy to find and apprehend the suspect. This is the only way to give an explanation to the clan alliance.

But Qiao Bushi's actions left the Shu ethnic minister completely baffled. Mimi and Hu Wencai's words were loaded with meaning; to put it bluntly, their departure was equivalent to clearing them of suspicion. However, the Shu ethnic group had fallen into a latrine themselves, covered in excrement that could never be cleaned up.

Qiao Bushi didn't say anything, but just shook his head slightly, signaling the minister to shut up. His eyes, however, were fixed on the group of tribes who had not yet left.

Qinghe was impatient with being repeatedly pestered by the ambassadors of various ethnic groups, and she couldn't find Wang Yao anywhere, so she had no choice but to leave the banquet hall. Although she remembered her plan with Wang Yao and the others and wanted to sneak to the guesthouse, she was accompanied by Luo Nairong and couldn't be free, so she decided to leave the island in the middle of the lake with him for the time being.
