Chapter 314 Qingqiu's Promise

The vehicle went directly into the depths of the valley and stopped in a large plaza overlooking the entire Wangxiang Valley, resembling the landing plaza of Tianchao City. The plaza was surrounded by several magnificent buildings. Qingyun led Wang Yao into a building next to the car that resembled a Gothic church in the human world.

The spacious hall had a gleaming floor. On one side of the hall was an old-fashioned, fence-like elevator. Qingyun led Wang Yao directly to the third floor, pushed open a heavy door several meters tall, and entered a large room.

In the center of the room was a giant oval table, around which sat seven or eight powerful demons, both men and women.

"Welcome, welcome, Lord Yue Lao! We went to great lengths to find you. Look, almost all the clan leaders from the various branches of our Qingqiu clan have arrived." Qing Ning hurriedly stood up with a smile to greet Wang Yao as he entered.

All the humanoid demons, men and women, around the table turned their heads, each with a different expression as they looked at Wang Yao.

"Please sit down. Although only eight of the thirteen branches of Qingqiu have arrived so far, the others are on their way. I remember that Lord Yue once said that as long as more than half of the Qingqiu branches make a commitment, the Heavenly Court can consider releasing our old patriarch. Is that right?"

Qing Ning asked with a smile.

“Not bad.” Wang Yao nodded after settling down.

"All the branches of Qingqiu here have pledged their support for the Heavenly Court." Qing Ning raised his hand and pointed at everyone present. "I wonder if this satisfies the Heavenly Court's demands?"

As Qing Ning finished speaking, everyone present nodded and smiled at Wang Yao, some quickly and some slowly.

"Just empty talk? How can that be? Are you sure Chief Qingning isn't joking with me?" Wang Yao blinked twice at everyone present, then turned to Qingning with a smile.

"How could that be? The Heavenly Court wouldn't release the old patriarch just because of a promise we made," Qing sneered. "We're not that naive. You can rest assured."

"Our idea is to draft a resolution for the general assembly and submit an application to the Heavenly Court to release the old clan leader through you, Lord Yue Lao. In order for the Heavenly Court to fully believe in our sincerity, we have also decided that each clan will send a few hostages to the Heavenly Court to live and study."

"As for how many protons to choose and which protons to select, that's entirely up to the Heavenly Court. Even if they choose me, Qing Ning, it's no problem. What do you think?"

Before Wang Yao could speak, all the clan leaders present slowly nodded again.

“I see…” Wang Yao hesitated for a moment. “Alright, I’ll contact my superiors first and see if they have any further requirements.”

They were clearly well-prepared, and Wang Yao couldn't contact the fairy, so he couldn't make any decisions on his own and could only resort to stalling.

"No rush, no rush. After all, there are still five branches here that haven't arrived yet. Once they're all here, the resolutions made at the conference will represent the will of the entire Qingqiu clan, and I believe the Heavenly Court will pay more attention to them," Qing Ning said casually with a smile.

"How about... I have Qingyun accompany Lord Yue to stroll around Wangxiang Valley, and also invite Lord Yue to select a treasure from my Liang clan's treasury? I haven't seen the clan leaders here for a long time, so let's catch up and not keep Lord Yue sitting here."

"We'll invite the Old Man of the Moon to attend the conference. What do you think, Old Man of the Moon...?" Qing Ning asked, his eyes seeking her opinion. Qing Yun hurriedly walked to Wang Yao's side.

"Alright, you two continue your conversation..."

Upon seeing this, Wang Yao thought, "This chair hasn't even warmed up yet, and they're already urging me to leave?" However, he didn't seem to have anything to do if he stayed any longer, and he was too lazy to listen to their ramblings about the Qingqiu Clan, so he simply got up and left the room with Qingyun by his side.

The two went to another large building on the other side of the square. A sign on the building read "Liang Clan Independent Reserve Bank". Qingyun took out a note and found the bank manager, who was also a powerful humanoid. He was chubby and had a small mustache.

The mustachioed manager accepted Qingyun's note and led the two to an elevator in a corner of the bank lobby. They took the elevator down, and after about three or five floors, the elevator doors opened. Wang Yao came out and found that the bank's underground security was extremely tight.

There were many security guards coming and going, and they were all humanoid superhumans. They were all wearing black trench coats, sunglasses, and headphones, and carrying various weapons at their fingertips, looking as if they were facing a formidable enemy.

The manager and Qingyun ignored all of this and led Wang Yao through the long underground passage directly to a metal gate guarded by a powerful being.

The mustachioed manager fiddled with the gleaming door for a long time, then asked the guard to help him enter the password. Only then did they hear a "click" as the lock opened.

Pushing open the metal door, which was at least two or three meters thick, one finds a small room of about ten square meters inside. There are cameras in the four corners of the ceiling, constantly moving as if trying to capture something.

The room was filled with display shelves, on which were placed all sorts of odds and ends that Wang Yao couldn't name.

"Lord of the Moon, you can choose any item from inside," Qingyun said to Wang Yao, standing by the metal door.

"Is this the treasure vault of your Liang tribe?" Wang Yao asked in astonishment.

“Not bad.” Qingyun nodded and stood outside the metal door with the bank manager, clearly having no intention of going in.

"Um... okay..." Wang Yao blinked and stepped inside.

To be honest, he has never been very interested in treasures or anything like that, but this treasure vault still piqued Wang Yao's curiosity. He wanted to know what exactly these monsters would treasure so much and keep hidden away.
