Wang Yao muttered to himself, just about to arrange a marriage for him, but in that instant, everything seemed to suddenly freeze. Wang Yao's fingertip was only a hair's breadth away from the interface panel, but he could no longer press it.
The lightning was still flashing around him, but Wang Yao was surprised to find that he couldn't move, as if he had been frozen in a pool of lightning.
"Stop!" A cold female voice reached Wang Yao's stiff ears, sounding as distant as if it were thousands of miles away.
"Crack!" Wang Yao suddenly felt a tingling sensation all over his body, and a piercing burning pain ran from his right shoulder all the way to the sole of his right foot. With a "thud," the interface panel fell to the ground and rolled into the lightning pool, where it was instantly shattered into pieces by the dense lightning.
Wang Yao was utterly astonished. He had actually been struck by lightning! Wasn't he supposed to have "good people" around him? How could he have been struck by lightning? Wang Yao tried to turn his head to see where he had been hit, but he couldn't do it at all. He could only manage to glance downwards.
To his disbelief, he saw that the right half of his body was faintly visible, as if it had been sliced off by lightning, or as if it had been blurred by something, becoming an unreal existence.
The thunder roared in Wang Yao's ears, and countless bolts of lightning struck him one after another. He felt as if his body was on fire, or as if he had been mercilessly pierced by millions of sharp arrows in an instant.
