As the steam continued to rise, the liquid enveloping the spiritual energy gradually thinned out, but the temperature continued to climb. After an unknown amount of time, the liquid had completely evaporated, and Wang Yao, his insides burning, lay there with his mouth wide open, barely breathing, like a fully cooked shrimp.
But then a heart-wrenching pain made Wang Yao shudder and widen his eyes. He felt as if countless sharp blades were cutting him all over at the same time, and then he felt his skin slowly peeling off his body from head to toe.
"Am I being skinned alive?" Wang Yao stared blankly as his own face slowly came into view. The two empty holes on the face slowly rose, gradually looking down at him with a strange sense of alienation and absurdity.
The discovery that a part of his body seemed to have developed an extremely absurd and unfamiliar independent personality was a huge shock to Wang Yao.
He stared in astonishment at the skin slowly receding from him, completely forgetting the excruciating pain his body was feeling as it was being roasted after leaving the skin's protection, and screamed in terror.
