Chapter 358 Spinning

Wang Yao thought for a moment. He had been running aimlessly all night and didn't know where he was. He decided to take a look at his surroundings first.

So he activated his "sensing" again, and it didn't extend far before he was out of the woods. Wang Yao was immediately stunned and widened his eyes. Outside the woods was the back gate of the castle he had run out of yesterday. Damn it, he had been walking in circles all night!

Just as he was in shock, a voice suddenly came from afar. He was startled and hurriedly withdrew his "sensor", but then immediately released it again. Damn it, if the other party could detect his "sensor", they would have already come to kill him.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he released his "sensory perception", he suddenly saw a huge black shadow coming towards him, followed by the crisp sound of weapons clashing and an extremely angry voice.

"What do you mean by that, surnamed Gao?"

"It's nothing special. I have a use for this immortal. General Shan, how about you do me a favor?"

Wang Yao blinked and steadied himself before realizing that a gun and a hammer with a long handle were perched on his head, with gold rivets on the hammer.

He then realized that the hunter had already attacked him the instant he released his "sensation," but was stopped by the gun-wielding god general.

"Do you even know what kind of immortal he is?" the man with the long-handled hammer roared from his horse.

"You've been babbling to me all night, of course I know what kind of immortal he is," the spear-wielding general laughed. Wang Yao recognized him immediately; he was Gao Chong, a general under Yue Fei.

He smiled and used his gun to block the long-handled hammer, preventing it from hitting Wang Yao on the head. Wang Yao hurriedly ran to Gao Chong's horse, thinking that getting out of danger was the priority.

"Since you know what kind of immortal he is, you should know that I am carrying out the orders of the God Lord. You had better think carefully about the consequences. If you obstruct the mission personally given by the God Lord, your General Yue may not be able to protect you," the God General surnamed Shan said coldly.

"General Shan, I'm a very timid person, please don't scare me. I'm just asking you to do me a favor. You have a mission to kill blacksmiths, and I also have a mission to clear out demons. I'm just asking for your help. There's no need to bring up the God Lord, is there?" Gao Chong said with a smile.

"What do you say?" General Shan frowned and looked at Gao Chong.

"Do you have Samadhi True Fire?" Gao Chong didn't answer General Shan's question, but instead bent down from his horse and looked at Wang Yao.

"Yes! Yes!" Wang Yao nodded hurriedly. He knew perfectly well that Gao Chong was trying to save him. Even if Gao Chong didn't know how to "control fire," he would still pretend to know.

"Excellent!" Gao Chong winked at Wang Yao, then straightened up and looked at General Shan.

"General Shan, as you can see, the lesser demons have taken root in large numbers outside Gale Fortress. My men have been busy all night, but the lesser demons' ability to reproduce is too strong. Despite our efforts, their numbers have increased rather than decreased. I would like to borrow this immortal's Samadhi True Fire to burn them. General Shan, could you please make an exception?"

Gao Chong smiled at the hunter.

"Well..." General Shan hesitated upon hearing this.

"General Shan, if we allow these inferior demons to multiply, the magic power around Gale Fortress will increase, and our divine defenses will have to retreat. This is a serious matter."

"This humble general is merely borrowing this immortal. As for what you do with him afterward, that's your business. This humble general promises not to interfere further. Besides, your General Pei has been helping us all night; don't you want him to get some rest?" Gao Chong added, looking at the hunter.

"After borrowing him, are you really going to hand him over to me to deal with?" The Hunter frowned and stared at Gao Chong as he asked.

"Of course it's true! What would I do with him? Do you think I'd take him back to Wuling Pass?" Gao Chong laughed.

"Alright, I'll believe you this once." Hearing Gao Chong say this, the hunter finally put away his long-handled hammer.

"Thank you for your understanding, General Shan!" Gao Chong thanked the hunter, hung his gun on the bird-shaped ring victory hook, dismounted, put his arm around Wang Yao, and turned to walk towards the castle.

"Come on, let's go slay the demons, you two!" Gao Chong shouted casually.

"Wait... wait!" Wang Yao hurriedly struggled to get up. From Gao Chong's words, it was clear that he was going to discard him after using him. He was a sage with principles. If you use someone and then kill them, he wasn't even planning to let them use him.

"What are you waiting for? The demonic message is an alarm. If we keep waiting, won't we delay something important? Get over here right now." Gao Chong tightened his grip on Wang Yao's arm, and Wang Yao suddenly felt something small in Gao Chong's hand rapidly tapping against his chest.

Wang Yao turned to look at Gao Chong, who was giving him a quick wink. He hurriedly reached out and took the object from him. Gao Chong then released him and took several steps back.

"Oh dear, you immortal have quite the temper. Well, General Shan, you've scared this immortal so much that he's unwilling to cooperate." Gao Chong turned to look at the hunters riding behind them.

“It’s fine if you don’t cooperate. Just kill him now,” the hunter said coldly.

"Did you hear that? If you don't cooperate, I'll kill you right now!" Gao Chong said to Wang Yao in a bluffing manner. He even made a chopping motion with his hand towards Wang Yao, but Wang Yao saw his eyes flicker, his chin tilt up, and his fingers squeeze hard.

Wang Yao touched the object in his hand. It was a small, hard piece that was neither metal nor wood. He squeezed it slightly and felt that it was slightly elastic, but if he used too much force, it would probably break immediately. Could it be that Gao Chong wanted him to crush this thing?

"Who said we wouldn't cooperate? I've always had a good impression of the God Realm, and it's not that I can't help you, it's just that I'm not used to being threatened." He said slowly as he walked forward, trying to guess Gao Chong's meaning.
