Chapter 373 Returning to Foundation Establishment

Continuing to study immortal arts is clearly not an option. The Lord of Filling the Sea is already getting impatient. I must go to the Realm of Gods and Demons again. On the one hand, I need to improve my cultivation level as soon as possible through the trials. On the other hand, I need to think of a way to deal with the Lord of Filling the Sea.

Wang Yao walked to the statue of gods and demons in the forging space and began a new round of forging. His body was once again enveloped in spiritual power. However, the expected increase in liquid spiritual power and temperature did not occur. Just as he was wondering about this, he suddenly felt as if he had been hit hard on the head by a heavy hammer.

Damn it, this time it was a direct hit from a sledgehammer! Under the intense pain, Wang Yao instantly realized what was happening. His entire body had endured dozens, even hundreds, of heavy blows in a short period of time. As the blows continued, the temperature inside the spiritual energy envelope began to rise slowly.

The spiritual energy hammer struck silently, yet it left Wang Yao completely disoriented. He felt as if he was about to be shattered, but no, as the hammer continued to fall, Wang Yao did not feel any tendency for his body to split apart. On the contrary, it seemed that his skin, flesh, and bones became even firmer.

The heavy blows continued, and Wang Yao's head was throbbing with pain from the constant pounding. Yet, he could still see that through the relentless blows, his body was shrinking proportionally and evenly. His height was decreasing, his flesh and bones were becoming more compact, and he was becoming increasingly miniaturized.

"This is actually a good way to lose weight," Wang Yao thought to himself. The only downside was that the temperature was getting higher and higher, and his body was gradually turning red. The heavy blows did not slow down at all, and his body was being beaten until it was almost like dough.

Another heavy blow came, and Wang Yao was shocked to find that his head had been smashed into his chest cavity. Before he could even look at the ribs on both sides of his cheeks and let out a shocked scream, a heavy blow came from his waist, and his head was pushed back into place.

With each relentless pounding of the hammer, Wang Yao's head jostled and shifted between different parts of his body, changing shape from round to flat, depending on the point of impact of the hammer.

The spiritual hammer struck without any emotion, and soon smashed Wang Yao into a fleshy lump. His head was tightly squeezed into his groin, while his legs and arms were completely smashed into his body. But soon the hammer smashed his body parts back into their original positions.

It's unclear how long the hammering went on, but then the heavy hammer began to come crashing down from both the front and back, and soon Wang Yao was smashed into a thin sheet.

His head, which had been smashed into a pancake shape, felt as thin as a cicada's wing, as if a gust of wind could make his body float away like a piece of paper.

The spiritual energy liquid poured in with a rush, and billowing steam escaped. Before long, Wang Yao's body swelled up, wet and bloated, like an inflating balloon. The spiritual energy gushed into his body, restoring Wang Yao to his original appearance.

It was as if he had taken a thorough hot bath inside and out, and after the hot water was dried, the hammering was repeated. It was thinned and then restored, and then hammered thinner again. Wang Yao felt like a piece of stubborn iron on an anvil, undergoing endless tempering.

After this process was repeated nine times, the boiling and skinning began again. Wang Yao finally realized that the forging process after upgrading to Foundation Establishment had added another step: spiritual energy hammering!

"Congratulations on advancing to the Foundation Establishment stage. The Trial of Gods and Demons begins."

"The Foundation Establishment stage trial of gods and demons: change or stop the gods from resisting the demon army in the Great Swamp Divine Realm. If the gods retreat, the trial is completed and the Foundation Establishment stage is fixed; otherwise, it is a failure."

Just as Wang Yao finished transforming his spiritual energy into clothing, he found himself swept away from the God and Demon Forging Space by a mysterious force, falling into a dark night with the sound of pattering rain.

Having undergone several trials, he had gained some experience. He had also changed into dark-colored cloth, making him inconspicuous in the darkness. At this moment, he hurriedly suppressed his spiritual power and quickly surveyed his surroundings.

Around me, rows of dark houses stood silently in the rain, with one or two dim lights flickering in the distance.

Wang Yao wiped the rain off his face and looked up. He saw a shop sign hanging dejectedly in the rain, with raindrops dripping from its edges onto him.

Suddenly, Wang Yao moved and hid in the shadow of a nearby house. Not long after, a series of footsteps approached, and a group of warriors marched in neat formation along the road in the rain.

Wang Yao's eyes had long since adjusted to the darkness. He looked at the approaching warriors through the rain curtain and noticed that their attire was very different from that of the gods; in short, they were not dressed at all.

Each samurai wore only a small piece of cloth around their waist, and carried a heavy battle axe of the same design. They were all burly and looked like gorillas.

To Wang Yao's surprise, these warriors, though incredibly ugly, all looked exactly alike, as if they were all twins. Despite being drenched in the rain, they seemed completely oblivious.

There was a strange, blank look in the expressions of these warriors that sent a chill down one's spine for no apparent reason. After they left, Wang Yao walked back into the rain, glanced at their retreating figures, stroked his chin, turned around, and hurried off in the opposite direction.

As expected, this should be the territory of the demons. The air is thick with magic, and it feels completely different from the realm of gods.

Whether it was the dead of night or just the way things were in the demon realm, everything was pitch black, with only one or two lights shining forlornly. Those few lights, aside from enhancing the dark and terrifying atmosphere of the entire city, did not serve any purpose of illumination whatsoever.

To avoid being detected by the demon hunters, Wang Yao walked a long way in the rain. His original plan was to leave the demon city, go to the wilderness first, and then consider what to do next.
