Wang Yao was confused about the situation, so he stopped beside them. He saw a warship leaving the dock and another coming in, and then a powerful figure boarded the ship. It was clear that the Lord of Filling the Sea had not gathered the powerful figures together, but had dispersed them to various warships.
"Immortal, please come this way!" Wang Yao was trying to guess the identities of those powerful figures based on the previous arrangements made by the Sea-Reclaiming God and the two generals, Liang and Hua, when a divine soldier hurriedly ran over and gestured for Wang Yao to go to another slightly more secluded dock, where a warship was also moored.
Following the divine soldier's instructions, Wang Yao boarded the ship. The warship immediately departed from the dock, following a dense array of other warships as it passed through the gates of the sea city wall and sailed into the vast and boundless Ocean of No Return.
Standing at the bow and looking around, Wang Yao noticed that Yun Que, Bai Ling, and even Tian Yi, the close attendants of the Sea-Filling God, were not on the same boat. He couldn't help but wonder why the Sea-Filling God hadn't brought any attendants with him and had boarded the boat alone.
After the fleet had sailed about a hundred miles, Wang Yao heard the faint sound of war drums coming from the sea. Powerful figures took off one after another from each warship. His view was blocked by the warship in front of him, so he simply took out "Immortal's Sorrow" and rose into the air to look into the distance.
Ahead, the Protoss warships were lined up in a row on the vast ocean, while the Hu Mei army was nowhere to be seen. The divine soldiers and generals on the Protoss ships and in the sky, standing tall against the wind facing the empty ocean, looked truly majestic in the morning light.
As the drums of the Protoss warships continued, a dark shadow began to slowly drift across the distant horizon, resembling a floating continent, gradually appearing in Wang Yao's sight under the rising sun.
Hu Mei's fleet did not fly any flags, nor did any powerful beings fly in the air. Only those puppet ships, resembling container roll-on/roll-off ships, formed a dense formation and sailed slowly and silently towards them.
As the puppet ships drew closer, the drumbeats from the Protoss fleet grew increasingly intense. Suddenly, a loud horn sounded, and Wang Yao saw the Protoss fleet at the forefront swerve to the left and right, like wild geese spreading their wings, forming a pincer movement against the approaching puppet ships.
At the same time, based on the extent of the puppet ship's advance, the Protoss front formation slowly moved towards the center, with subsequent warships advancing in an orderly manner to fill the gap left by the departure of the goose-wing warships.
Wang Yao roughly estimated from the air that the total number of warships on the side of the Sea-Reclaiming Divine Realm should be no less than a thousand. More than a hundred ships each sailed out to the two sides in a wing-like formation. After the wing-like formations left, there were still about fifty ships left in the center. As soon as they were in position, they took the initiative to go forward to meet the puppet fleet.
About ten nautical miles away from the battlefield where the battle was about to begin was Wang Yao's fleet, which consisted of about five hundred ships. Several hundred more warships were gathering behind them, and they were about ten nautical miles away from Wang Yao's fleet.
The thousands of warships scattered across the ocean were already a formidable force, but compared to the puppet fleet on the other side, they were still completely insignificant.
The puppet fleet stretched out like a long snake across the Ocean of No Return. Even with Wang Yao's eyesight, he could not see the end of the snake. Twenty or thirty ships lined up in a row, sailing in neat rows, as if they were endless.
The two hundred-odd warships of the Protoss fleet that came to meet them from the left and right sides were like two insignificant claws added to the serpent's ribs compared to the puppet fleet. However, from the air, they made the serpent look somewhat like a dragon.
As the two armies drew closer, the sound of war drums gradually subsided. Suddenly, Wang Yao saw three beams of light of different colors shoot out from the Divine Race fleet. They were suspended above the outer ships on the left and right sides of the first line of the puppet fleet, with red in the center and green and orange on the left and right sides respectively.
These three beams of light acted as a signal; as soon as they hovered in the air, the more than 250 warships of the Protoss on the left, right, and center immediately unleashed a dazzling display of light and shadow upon the puppet fleet.
"Divine Cannons!" Wang Yao exclaimed inwardly. He saw the dazzling lights split into three sides. The divine cannons of the central fleet concentrated their attack on the puppet ship under the red light, while the left and right wings attacked the ships under the green and orange lights respectively.
Concentrated fire is worse than crippling one finger! Although the Protoss fleet was far fewer in number than the puppet ships, it launched the first attack.
With just one round of concentrated fire, the three puppet ships guided by the tri-colored light were shattered into pieces. In an instant, a black layer appeared on the ocean surface, which contained the magical warriors and inferior demons loaded on the ships. Some of them were still alive and were struggling desperately in the seawater.
The three-colored light in the sky disappeared quickly after the three puppet ships were destroyed, but then three more beams of light shot into the sky. The Protoss warships launched a second round of concentrated fire. Wang Yao had now figured out the secrets of the Goose Wing Formation.
However, the Protoss fleets on the left and right sides did not sail far. They moved back and forth along the flanks of the puppet fleet, their movements resembling the flapping wings of wild geese.
The warships in the very center resembled the bodies of wild geese, maintaining a stable posture and continuously firing at the first row of puppet ships coming towards them.
However, there were simply too many puppet ships. Three rounds of concentrated fire destroyed nine puppet ships, but this did not shake the enemy in the slightest. Moreover, based on the goose-wing formation deployed by the Protoss fleet, the puppet fleet was also making subtle changes.
The long serpent in the center continued to crash straight into the goose's body, while hundreds of ships on each side split off to meet the wings of the Protoss goose. After the fourth round of concentrated fire from the Protoss warships, large wooden crates began to stand up on the puppet ships closest to the Protoss warships.
