Chapter 458 Battle

"Father, Mother, be careful!" But before Wang Yao could make a move against the Heavenly Demon, he heard Hui Shuo's scream in his ear.

Immediately following was a piercing scream. Wang Yao felt as if a dazzling golden light had flashed before his eyes, and his body was then swept away as if by a gale, and he was thrown heavily to the ground.

He stumbled and fell onto a large group of demon warriors, dizzy and disoriented. Before he could figure out what was happening, his right hand slashed with his golden sword, and the demon warriors around him howled and fell to the ground. Just then, a dark figure rushed toward him.

"Amitabha!" Hui Shuo chanted the Buddhist mantra, his voice filled with anxiety, but the golden light on the wooden fish still swiftly wrapped around the black shadow rushing towards Wang Yao.

The dark figure suddenly collided with the golden light, and puffs of black energy suddenly emerged from its body, causing the golden light to be visibly eroded and change color.

"Father...Father and Mother...This...this benefactor is too powerful, I can't withstand him, you...you must run for your life!" Hui Shuo shouted, but his figure was blocked by layers of magic, and Wang Yao couldn't see him at all.

This place is far from the True Fire Corridor. Wang Yao knows that although Hui Shuo has the wooden fish protecting him, he is still just a mortal. Once he falls into the Demon Martial Arts Group, he will probably be chopped into mincemeat in no time. Now Wang Yao is really anxious.

"Mind your own business and leave me alone!" Wang Yao shouted as he leaped up. He used the red thread to first pull himself and the approaching black shadow together, then used a "deterrent" effect, and finally added a "fortified barrier" to himself.

At Wang Yao's current level, the power of "Intimidation" is quite formidable. He was eager to find Hui Shuo and was no longer willing to fight with the demons and warriors around him, so he simply used "Intimidation" to knock them all down, and his vision became clear immediately.

He discovered that Hui Shuo was still in the True Fire Corridor, stumbling and chasing after the Mammoth Legion as they retreated, holding a wooden fish. Behind him, a Mammoth Demon General was guarding the rear, fiercely fighting the Heavenly Demon who had just killed two Mammoths.

Seeing this, Wang Yao rushed towards Hui Shuo. The dark figure followed closely, pouncing on him. Wang Yao paused, then slapped the ground with both hands. Vines sprang up and quickly wrapped around the dark figure, hoping to buy himself some time with the "Controlling Wood".

The dark figure darted left and right through the vines, letting out sharp howls, while the emerald green vines were visibly withering and decaying. Wang Yao didn't have time to observe closely. He rushed to Hui Shuo's side in three strides, ripped off his monk's robe, and then frantically retreated towards the army.

Before he could run a few steps, suddenly there were a series of loud "bangs" in front of him, and clumps of mud and dust rose into the air and then fell down, soaking Wang Yao and his companion like mud figures. Instantly, many deep pits appeared out of nowhere on the road in front of them.

"This dark figure is most likely a demon!" Wang Yao thought to himself. The fact that it could easily break free from his "Wood Control" entanglement meant that this demon's cultivation level had definitely surpassed that of a Nascent Soul cultivator.

At this moment, the mammoth demon general who was covering the rear had noticed the presence of the evil demon. He immediately let out a long roar, and his body swelled up again, like a mountain of flesh, completely blocking the True Fire Corridor. His body was covered with layers of hard armor.

The demon's attacks made "thump thump" sounds on his body, as if hitting decaying leather, and could not shake the mammoth demon general in the slightest.

The demon ignored the elephant demon and instead kept a close eye on Wang Yao and his companion from the sky, launching frequent attacks from above. Fortunately, Wang Yao used the "East-West Pulling" technique, causing all of the demon's attacks to land around him, blasting dust and raining down stones.

The severe damage to the road caused Wang Yao and his companion a lot of trouble. In addition, the demon's attacks were extremely dense. Wang Yao was not careful, and Hui Shuo cried out in pain as a demon's magic grazed his shoulder.

Suddenly, a rich golden light emanated from Hui Shuo's monk robe. Seeing that something was amiss, the demon stopped its attack and looked at Hui Shuo with suspicion in mid-air.

The golden light on Hui Shuo's shoulder quickly condensed into a phantom image of a monk. The phantom image of the monk leaped into the air and flew towards the demon, his hands clasped together, a smile on his face as he gazed at the demon.

"What the hell is that?" the demon roared, throwing a punch at the golden monk's phantom. But the phantom didn't move at all, enduring the demon's attack without flinching. Apart from the slight tremor of its golden light, it seemed to have suffered no damage whatsoever.

Wang Yao ignored the monk who had inexplicably appeared and was fighting with the demon, and hurriedly checked Hui Shuo's shoulder.

"How are you?" Wang Yao asked anxiously. If Hui Shuo were still a mortal, that attack, comparable to the Void Refinement Realm, even if it only grazed him, would have sent Hui Shuo flying and half of his body missing.

Hui Shuo seemed to be fine, except for a few swollen spots on his face and forehead caused by the flying stones. Wang Yao quickly examined Hui Shuo's entire body with his spiritual power, but found no signs of broken or dislocated bones.

It seems that Hui Shuo must have received Buddhist training, and his physical strength far exceeds that of ordinary people. However, the fact that he was lying on the ground with his brows furrowed, seemingly quite seriously injured, still worried Wang Yao.

"It hurts... Father and Mother... It hurts..." Hui Shuo closed his eyes, raised his hand and pointed to his shoulder with trembling hands, groaning in pain.

When Wang Yao lifted his monk's robe, he saw that the monk's shoulders and neck were covered in dark bruises and were swollen, which looked quite gruesome. However, seeing this, Wang Yao was completely relieved.

He glanced at the golden monk whose golden light was growing dimmer after being struck by the demon, and at the roaring mammoth demon general who was blocking the heavenly demon, and lifted Hui Shuo up with one hand.
