Chapter 486 Performance of Duties Interview

“We’ll discuss this further after you return from the Supreme Lord’s place,” Director Yang said.

"Oh, so that means I have to see the Supreme Lord after I leave here?" Wang Yao asked.

"Well, after you see the Supreme Lord, you will need to come back to me. We need to get the relevant procedures done properly. According to the Heavenly Court's plan, your Six Realms Women's Federation is an important department that the Heavenly Court has recently established. Everything is difficult at the beginning, so we must plan to ensure that nothing goes wrong."

Director Yang nodded.

"But...it seems like the Supreme Lord isn't really in charge these days, is he? Is he still working normally? The Immortal Realm is so vast, does the Director know how to find the Supreme Lord?" Wang Yao frowned and asked again, recalling the rumors he heard when he joined the Heavenly Court's Tribulation Investigation Team.

"Who told you all this? As a pillar of the Heavenly Court, the Supreme Lord has always been highly valued by the Heavenly Court and has never been one to ignore matters. It is certainly not easy for ordinary immortals to see a high-ranking official like the Supreme Lord, but it is different when he summons you to meet him." Director Yang shook his head repeatedly.

"The Supreme Lord has an alchemy room in the Lu'an Committee compound. It's easy to find. You'll find it not far once you enter the Lu'an Committee compound. He's been refining elixirs there lately, probably waiting for you."

After leaving the Merit Examination Office, Wang Yao went directly to Jade Emperor Peak, which is the summit of Jade Emperor Mountain.

The entire Jade Emperor Mountain is lush and verdant, filled with exotic flowers and rare herbs, towering ancient trees, and winding blue stone paths that lead upwards. There are no so-called official roads leading to the various Heavenly Court agencies scattered throughout the mountain.

Fortunately, although Jade Emperor Mountain is the core of the Heavenly Court, there is no restriction on flying. Therefore, immortals usually fly when they come to Jade Emperor Palace to do business. You can see immortals rising and falling in various places on Jade Emperor Mountain, either riding pets or riding auspicious clouds.

Of course, there are also those who have a lot of leisure time and leisure, who leisurely follow the maze-like blue stone paths in the mountains, climbing step by step to reach their desired heavenly unit.

Eager to see Laozi, Wang Yao naturally activated his "Immortal Travel" technique, flying straight to the mountaintop. There, amidst the lush flowers and green leaves, he saw clusters of courtyards with blue bricks and black tiles, which must have been the locations of important heavenly institutions.

These courtyards are all clearly illuminated, indicating that they are graded no-fly zones, but the color of the light actually has a hidden meaning.

When Director Yang sent Wang Yao off, he told him that the seven colors of red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple correspond to the seven realms of Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Deity Transformation, Void Refinement, Body Integration, and Mahayana. For example, the cyan light prohibits immortals below the Void Refinement realm from flying over it.

This is determined according to the level of the top leaders of each organization, showing the dignity of a certain level of realm. Otherwise, if a Mahayana cultivator were to be flown over the head by a Nascent Soul cultivator, wouldn't that greatly damage the face of a Mahayana expert?

Generally, the head of each department in the Heavenly Court is also the one with the highest cultivation level in their department. Therefore, setting a no-fly threshold based on the cultivation level of the head of the department can basically ensure that the department will not be harassed by any petty people.

Of course, if you encounter a stubborn immortal who doesn't believe in evil and insists on defying authority, then these seemingly insignificant lights will transform into extremely cruel killing moves when the stubborn immortal barges in. If the immortal's cultivation level is insufficient, he will inevitably meet a tragic end.

Wang Yao discovered that from the mountainside upwards, most of the courtyards were covered by purple light, which even Mahayana cultivators were forbidden to fly over, interspersed with a few streaks of blue. Fortunately, Jade Emperor Mountain covered a large area, and apart from these areas of light, there was enough space for the immortals who came up the mountain to move around.

Down the mountainside, however, a completely different scene unfolds. Countless rays of light, each one distinct and faint, appear and disappear amidst the lush green trees and vibrant flowers, creating a harmonious and unique ambiance that adds a special charm to Jade Emperor Mountain.

During the flight, Wang Yao also discovered that in the mountains where there were no courtyards, a beam of light would sometimes suddenly appear and shoot into the sky, but this light would often disappear silently.

He guessed that some high-ranking celestial beings were taking a stroll on the bluestone path in the mountains, but were afraid of being taken advantage of by junior immortals, so they specially cast a spell to emit light to show their presence and make the flying immortals be careful to avoid them.

The sudden disappearance of the light was naturally because the great being had finished his walk and gone to where he wanted to go.

As Wang Yao flew upwards, all he saw were celestial beings with serious expressions, rushing about as if they were carrying out important missions for the Heavenly Court. He did not see a single celestial soldier or general in charge of guarding him.

He secretly speculated that there were too many Mahayana cultivators here, and ordinary heavenly soldiers and generals patrolling here would only be a hindrance and would not serve any guarding purpose at all. They would be superfluous as mere decorations. It seems that the Heavenly Court is quite pragmatic in not using heavenly soldiers to guard Jade Emperor Mountain.

Wang Yao flew upwards for a long time, guessing that the top of Jade Emperor Mountain must be tens of thousands of meters above sea level. However, unlike the human world, no matter how high the altitude, Jade Emperor Mountain was always covered by lush vegetation, and there was no trace of desolation.

Upon reaching the summit of Jade Emperor Mountain, a vast plaza came into view, upon which stood six statues, arranged in three groups facing each other. All six statues were quite imposing. Wang Yao glanced at them briefly; the first statue on the left depicted a young mother holding and breastfeeding her baby.

The second figure is a gaunt, skeletal creature carrying an iron chain and grinning.

The third figure, however, was a creature with an eagle's head and a human body, fighting with a creature with a human head and a snake's body.

The first figure on the right is a towering, armored warrior, pointing a long spear high into the sky.

The second figure is a minotaur with two long horns, wielding two swords, poised to pounce.

The last statue is of an old man sitting cross-legged, making hand gestures and smiling.
