Chapter 487 The Supreme Being

"This is..." Wang Yao thought for a moment and then understood. How could one fly over the top of Laozi's head? So going underground was the right way. However... he wondered how the Heavenly Emperor would get in if he came to see Laozi.

He made wild guesses in his mind and went down the bluestone steps one by one. After walking down more than a dozen steps, he suddenly went dark. The cave entrance at the top had been closed.

The darkness had no effect on Wang Yao. He walked down about ten meters and could feel mountain springs seeping out from the stone walls around him, moss growing vigorously, and the fragrance of cinnabar becoming increasingly strong. When he reached the bottom of the bluestone steps, Wang Yao turned a corner along the path, and finally a light appeared ahead.

Upon closer inspection, it became clear that what appeared to be a light was actually the flame of alchemy burning brightly beneath a massive cauldron.

It turns out that Laozi's alchemy room was not on the ground, but in a cave underground. The treasure bottle on the ground was just a ventilation hole for the alchemy room.

"According to the timeline of the God Realm, this furnace of pills has been refined for forty-nine years. I cannot calculate precisely when you will be able to separate the God and Demon Realms, but it will be between fifty and one hundred years. Therefore, after waiting fifty years in the God Realm after returning to the Heavenly Court, I simply came here to start refining pills."

Laozi sat on the ground beside the alchemy furnace. A chubby boy was holding a fan and walking around the furnace, tending to the flames. He would fan the flames wherever they were weaker and they would immediately flare up again.

Upon seeing Wang Yao enter, the boy curiously turned to look at him, momentarily forgetting to tend to the alchemical fire.

"Keep an eye on the heat. This batch of pills is almost ready. You keep saying you want to learn alchemy from me, but now that a celestial being has come, you're completely distracted. Your mind is too cluttered!" Laozi immediately scolded him. "I'm going upstairs with Wang Xian to discuss some matters. Be careful."

As he spoke, Laozi slowly stood up, beckoned to Wang Yao, and led him around the blazing furnace. As Wang Yao passed the chubby boy, he was surprised to find a large, fluffy tail sticking out from behind the boy's bottom.

Wang Yao was startled. When he looked again, he found that the fat boy's buttocks were clean and there was no trace of a tail. Wang Yao was very surprised.

Behind the alchemy furnace, in the darkness, was another series of upward stairs. Laozi led Wang Yao up the stairs for a short distance, then pushed against the cave wall with his hand, and a small room appeared in front of the two of them.

The room was bare except for two worn-out cushions on the floor.

"Please sit down. My place is simple, please don't mind, Wang Xian." With that, Laozi sat down on a cushion and gestured for Wang Yao to sit on another cushion.

"Many departments in Heaven still serve tea to guests. Immortals don't eat or drink, so why would they need tea? Isn't that a waste? I don't have those fancy things here, but I wonder if Immortal Wang would like some tea?" Laozi asked Wang Yao after sitting down.

Wang Yao thought to himself, "Since you've already said that, how could I possibly ask for more tea?" He could only shake his head at Laozi.

"Very good." Seeing Wang Yao shake his head, Laozi also bluntly pointed a finger at Wang Yao.

"Now that you've taken office as the director of the Sixth Women's Federation, have you figured out what aspects of your work you'll be doing?" Laozi asked immediately afterward.

"Um... to be friends with women in the Six Realms? to fight for and protect the rights of women in the Six Realms? I've been wandering around the Six Realms for a while now, and to be honest, I haven't really felt that women in the Six Realms are weaker than men. For example, in the Human Realm, women also work, and their economic status at home is not much lower than that of men."

"In the demon realm, Lady Lian is now the boss, and in the god realm, there is also the Sea-Reclaiming God Domain, which is headed by the Sea-Reclaiming God and ruled by the goddess. They even have a feminist alliance. If a man tries to use the feminist alliance's interdimensional passage, he'll have to crawl through a dog hole."

"I've never heard of any instances in the Underworld where ghosts are treated differently because of their gender, so I have a feeling, but I don't know if it's right?" Wang Yao recounted his observations in the Six Realms, then looked at Laozi.

"Oh? Tell me about it." Laozi encouraged Wang Yao with great interest to share his insights.

"Xiaoxian believes that because men and women are born with different structures and physiologies, they have formed two different thinking and behavioral habits, and even logical systems. For example, men generally focus on the long term and ignore the present, like big and empty ideas, and are intolerant of trivialities."

"Women are different. They pay more attention to what is in front of them and have little interest in long-term, grand plans. They prefer small and practical things and get caught up in trivialities. This varies from realm to realm and even from creature to creature. In general, women are more sensitive to reality, while men are more open-minded and extravagant."

"For example, once a witch gives birth, her cultivation level stagnates. This is actually a matter of physiological structure, but it cannot be simply interpreted as gender inequality. Sometimes when men and women have a dispute, grand and abstract ideas often appear to be profound and far-sighted..."

“Focusing on reality may be criticized as being short-sighted, but these things need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes focusing on the long term is not wrong, while sometimes focusing on reality is more appropriate. There are no fixed rules, and no law in the Six Realms stipulates that when men and women have a dispute, one should listen to the other.”

"So in my humble opinion, given the current state of men and women in the Six Realms, establishing a Women's Federation for the Six Realms is somewhat... redundant. Women are already protecting their own rights very well; why would we need to go through all this trouble?" Wang Yao said.

"The Old Man of the Moon's analysis of the current relationship between men and women in the Six Realms is not wrong, but if you think that this means there is no need for the Women's Federation of the Six Realms, your vision is still a bit short-sighted. In the other five realms, women can also cultivate, and the innate weakness of women is not very obvious."
