"You...you want to transfer Lao Lü to your Women's Federation too?" Wang Yao heard a clattering sound on the other end of the phone, probably because someone had knocked over a mahjong set.
“Yes, what kind of relationship do we have? How can we just stand by and watch you two live apart for so long? We should give it a try when the opportunity arises,” Wang Yao said.
"Thank you... thank you so much. It's been so many years, and you still think of me? I... I'll go tell Old Lu right now..." The fairy's voice choked with emotion.
"No need to thank me, what kind of relationship do we have? You talk to Director Lü first, and give me a definite answer later." Wang Yao was about to hang up.
"You...you don't worry...um...the Chaos Gathering you're in right now is a bit strange. It's actually a protective formation that not only prohibits air travel but also allows entry but not exit. You probably didn't know that, did you?" the fairy suddenly asked on the other end of the phone.
"Is that so? No wonder, you can only go in but not out... Then... what should we do?" Wang Yao was at a loss after hearing what the fairy said.
"Don't rush. Look around for any thatched huts. Tell the shopkeeper inside that you've had enough and want to leave, and they'll see you out," the fairy maiden instructed Wang Yao.
Wang Yao thanked the fairy, then hung up the phone and found a thatched hut to crawl into.
"Shopkeeper, I've had enough of shopping. I'm going to the Inner Wilderness Domain," Wang Yao said to the shopkeeper.
“My lord, going to the Inner Wilderness now… isn’t the right time?” The shopkeeper looked Wang Yao up and down, then asked with a respectful expression.
"It's alright, my workplace is over there." Wang Yao shook his head.
"Unit?" The shopkeeper blinked a few times, seemingly quite surprised. However, facing a powerful Mahayana cultivator, he obviously couldn't say too much. He took out a small wooden sign and swiped it at Wang Yao. Wang Yao immediately felt the scenery around him change, and when he looked again, he had indeed left the market.
The surrounding area was a dense forest, which Wang Yao considered to be almost like a primeval forest. It was so quiet that you could hear the sound of falling leaves. The wilderness was desolate, and compared to the bustling market just moments before, it suddenly became deserted.
Wang Yao released his "sensation," and apart from the various plants that were entangled in his consciousness, he found no signs of any living beings for a long time.
At this point, it would be inconvenient for him to walk to the Women's Federation. In his "sensation," the tree roots were intertwined, and there was no way to go after walking a short distance. Moreover, the sun was gradually setting in the west, and the forest was becoming increasingly dark. Wang Yao was in a hurry to take care of his business and had no interest in continuing to walk.
He made a hand seal and used "Immortal Travel" to gradually rise up, but he was slightly unhappy. He originally thought that the Heavenly Court would place his Women's Federation in a remote place, but he never expected that it would be so desolate that even the roads were cut off.
Is this considered taking it seriously or just fooling the immortals?
Looking down from high above, Wang Yao easily spotted a leveled open area in the distant forest. In the center of the open area stood a ring of buildings in an oval shape, which looked like both a wall and a castle.
However, looking down from above, the buildings also resemble a large courtyard house, because the oval-shaped buildings are divided into two or three courtyards, with messy flowers, plants and trees in the courtyards, which are obviously not well maintained and are purely natural.
Beyond the oval-shaped building was a sizable flat grassland. Wang Yao guessed that the immortal soldiers must have practiced on that grassland in the past. Now, the grass looked quite lush. He suddenly frowned, noticing that a room in the building was emitting light.
Who's there? That deputy director? Still not home this late? How dedicated! Doesn't he fear being eaten by some wild beast? Wang Yao muttered to himself, then channeled his spiritual energy, instantly appearing near the ring of buildings as fast as lightning.
Landing on the grassland, Wang Yao discovered that the grass was not just lush, but almost taller than a fairy's head. He parted the grass and approached the building, only to find that it was still made of bricks and tiles. Although it looked somewhat dilapidated, it exuded a sense of weight and vicissitude.
The entire building is made of tall walls made of large blue bricks, which really looks like a castle. There is only one narrow door on the front, which can only allow one person to pass through.
Wang Yao estimated that in the Desolate Immortal Realm, immortal soldiers still mainly used flying as their means of transportation. Otherwise, if they had to enter and exit through this small gate, they would have to file in one by one, which would have made the immortals anxious and wasted too much time.
Upon reaching the main gate, Wang Yao was shocked to see a sign that read "Women's Federation of the Six Realms of Heaven". He couldn't help but sigh and look around. It would have been better if they hadn't put up the sign. In such a desolate place, wasn't Heaven just confirming its discrimination against women?
"Why are you so late?" Just as Wang Yao stepped across the threshold, a clear voice suddenly came from the darkness.
"How is it you?" Wang Yao looked up and asked in astonishment. The woman standing suspended in the darkness was none other than Fairy Caixia.
Seeing the Fairy of Rainbow Clouds, Wang Yao was quite moved. The moment he met her, he was captivated by her, feeling that if he could marry this fairy, he would have no regrets.
But as their contact deepened, they gradually drifted apart. When he saw Caixia now, he felt half doubt and half realization, but no longer had any feelings that could make Wang Yao have any other thoughts.
"Why can't it be me?" Fairy Caixia slowly floated to the ground, her bright eyes shining as she asked in the darkness. "I figured you should have arrived by noon at the latest, why are you so late?"
"Uh... I came on foot, but I ended up in Chaos City, which took some time." Wang Yao scratched his head, inwardly cursing the nepotism in the Heavenly Court, which seemed to be everywhere.
