"Oh, to put it bluntly, these rules were made by your foreign territory, weren't they?" Wang Yao nodded.
“Well… of course, this sport originated in my ocean territory…” Haoda still didn’t quite understand what Wang Yao meant.
"A sport that originated in your territory, with the ball, clubs, and field all yours, and the rules set by your territory, doesn't that mean you can do whatever you want? It's not a fair fight, Mr. Haodashi," Wang Yao laughed.
"You...you're just being unreasonable..." Haoda's forehead veins bulged; he had never seen such a sophistry before.
"Don't be hasty. Think about it. This sport is from your Western Realm. I come from the Six Realms and don't understand it. You're using the rules of the Western Realm to constrain me. Aren't you using the wrong object? Besides, I still have another set of rules in my heart."
"If we could have agreed beforehand to use your Western-style rules, then it would be reasonable for you to say that I broke the rules. The key is that you didn't say anything beforehand, just assumed that I should know. How many things in this world are there that you should know?"
"I always thought, since we're playing ball like gods, why should we act like mortals? It doesn't make sense, does it? So even if you discussed the rules with me beforehand, I definitely wouldn't agree to a rule that prevents the use of magic."
Wang Yao calmly and slowly explained a great deal of reasoning.
"Oh? So what are your own set of rules?" Hauda asked curiously.
"Are you still going to play ball?" Wang Yao laughed, took the wine glass from Wei Xian, and was about to put it in his mouth when a fishy smell suddenly came over him. He felt nauseous, his hand slipped, and he spilled the remaining 1,000-year-old black pearl in the glass onto the ground.
"Let's put aside whether we play or not, I just want to hear what your set of rules is all about?" Haodas frowned upon seeing this, but still pressed on with his question.
"You really want to hear it?" Wang Yao looked at this big shot who had a lot of influence in the foreign world with amusement. Hao Dashi nodded solemnly to him.
"Don't get angry after hearing this," Wang Yao said sternly.
"What does Chairman Wang take me for?" Haodashi chuckled.
“Alright, I’ll tell you then. It’s actually very simple, just one sentence: besides having to beat you, there are no other rules.” Wang Yao stared coldly at Haoda Shi and said, word by word.
Looking at Wang Yao's suddenly cold expression and listening to his words, Haodashi felt a chill slowly rise from the soles of his feet. This Wang Yao was indeed not someone to be trifled with.
The immortals around Wang Yao stared at him in astonishment. To state one's position so bluntly in a diplomatic setting was indeed quite unbelievable, given the Heavenly Court's usual practices. It was more like something an arrogant parliament would do.
"Uh... let's keep playing, keep playing..." Haodashi was speechless for a moment, so he had to find a way out for himself. He casually waved his hand, and a white cloud landed at his feet. He stepped onto it and then beckoned Wang Yao to step onto the cloud.
"You all rest here for a while, Wang Xian and I will be right back." He told the other immortals to wait where they were, and took only Wang Yao with him as he rode away on a white cloud. Even Cupid did not leave with him.
Sitting in the white clouds, Haoda Shi looked at Wang Yao, who was relaxed and at ease beside him, and felt more and more uncomfortable. He had always been the one to be arrogant to others. Who the hell had ever dared to be so arrogant to him? This Wang guy was only doing this because he needed something from him. Otherwise, who knows how arrogant he would be.
This guy is completely different from the group of immortals I used to deal with.
He intended to use some more tricks to annoy Wang Yao, but then he considered the purpose they wanted to achieve in response to Wang Yao's visit. He couldn't afford to lose sight of the bigger picture and ruin the overall situation in the foreign territory by getting angry with this kid. Hao Dashi sighed heavily and put away many of his dirty thoughts.
Several kilometers away, the white clouds descended, but Haoda Shi did not step down from the clouds. Instead, he sat on the clouds and casually cast a soundproof barrier before turning to look at Wang Yao.
“What do you want?” Hauda asked directly.
"Me?" Now it was Wang Yao's turn to be surprised. He never expected that Yang Shen would be so direct. Was he planning to confess his feelings or something?
"Do you see this area? Everything you can see belongs to Haodashi. There are no more than five gods living in this entire realm. If you wish, we can create an independent kingdom for you without any problem. It will only be more vast and more beautiful than what you see."
Haodas waved to the surroundings.
"I don't know how to play ball, what would I need such a big space for?" Wang Yao blinked blankly.
"If you want fame, I can make not only the Western world, but the entire world, including the six realms, worship you for generations to come, making you their master and saint. If you want profit, I can give you countless riches that you can never exhaust for all eternity."
"If you want a beautiful woman, I guarantee that any woman in the world who catches your eye will serve you willingly. If you want..." Haodashi paused mid-sentence of his rhetorical questions. He couldn't help it; Pearson's information was too outrageous, and this Wang Yao really didn't seem like the kind of immortal he was...
"If you want male concubines, whether they're young Indians from India or fresh-faced Koreans, as long as you fancy them, our Yangjie can satisfy you!" Haodashi finally said through gritted teeth.
“Um… let’s skip that guy. Pearson is that kind of guy, so he thinks everyone else is like him, it’s really…” Wang Yao shook his head repeatedly. “You’ve said so much, I’m completely confused. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. You’re asking for both fame and fortune…”
