Chapter Forty-Nine: A Treacherous Scheme

Feeling another -200 pass by, Wang Yao realized that this magical "sensing" technique seemed to have a tendency to further understand the structure of the wires. He quickly focused his mind, guided the red light past the wires, and once again entered the thick concrete wall.

As the red light penetrated deeper, the faint, chattering sounds became increasingly clear.

"You rascal, you only know how to cause trouble the moment we meet. You've ruined me like this. How am I going to get back? If the abbot finds out, I'm afraid it will be a disaster." A woman's voice said lazily, her reproachful tone full of seductive charm, making one's heart flutter.

“My darling, I’ve been waiting for you for so long, I’m getting impatient. Just bear with me for a few more days, and once I’ve dealt with Wei Dafa, I’ll take you to the foreign border. Then, we can live happily ever after, like gods.”

The sound of "yes" rang out, but it lacked any secluded elegance; it was exactly like that of an impatient adulterer.

When Wang Yao heard that Ru Yuan's words contained the implication of dealing with Wei Dafa, his heart stirred. Although he did not have a good impression of Wei Dafa and his wife, Chen Ke and Zhen Huai had a good relationship after all. If Chen Ke were to fall into misfortune, Zhen Huai would most likely not stand idly by.

Furthermore, Wei Dafa was someone he knew, and at this point, he naturally wanted to understand the whole story further. With a thought, the red light finally broke through the wall, and in front of him was a gently swaying sofa back. Ruyuan and the nun seemed to be on the sofa.

Ruyuan's breathing was quite heavy; he was speaking while panting heavily.

In Wang Yao's mental vision, there was a hole the size of a book in front of him, and he seemed to be peering into everything in the next room through this hole.

"Is what you're saying reliable? Is Wei Dafa really that easy to fool?" The woman's voice rang out again.

Wang Yao pushed the book-sized hole upwards, wanting to peek at the two people on the sofa. But before his gaze could even pass the back of the sofa, two intertwined limbs stung his eyes, almost causing his nose to bleed again.

Fortunately, the nun still had a sense of shame and reached out to pick up her robe from the ground to cover the two of them. Otherwise, Wang Yao would probably have had to stop his magic right then and there. The stimulation was too intense; he needed to calm down.

"Easy to fool? How many people in this world are easy to fool? It's all because of your husband..." After catching her breath, she continued boastfully.

“The real estate business is tough these days, and banks have tightened lending in this sector considerably. Wei Dafu is used to using bank money, so he's planning to switch careers and get into high-tech. I recommended a project to him through someone: the Portable Master…”

"A personal master? What's that?" the nun asked curiously.

"This project is actually quite reliable. Nowadays, whenever people in the human world encounter major life events such as buying a new house, moving, weddings, or funerals, they like to consult a feng shui master. But how many masters are there in this world? And how easy is it to get a master to come up with a solution..."

“Oh, I guessed it. The project is about making compasses? But... reading compasses and calculating feng shui are quite complicated. Are you going to hold a training course...?” The nun interjected, then realized she must have said something wrong, and her voice became hesitant.

"Look at you, so outdated! What era are we living in? Still holding training courses? This is a project, and a high-tech one at that. How could we possibly ask our clients to attend training courses to learn how to operate it?" Ru Yuan chuckled, quite pleased with himself.

"Tell me quickly, what exactly happened? Look how smug you are!" the nun said coquettishly.

"This portable master actually looks just like a mobile phone, but it has a powerful function: if someone wants to ask about feng shui, fortune telling, good or bad luck, or marriage, they can simply press a button and a master will answer their questions online, and it's all completely free..."

"This...this is taking away your job! You can't do it! You fool..." Upon hearing the explanation that Su Yuan had given, the nun immediately became anxious.

"Don't be nervous, don't be nervous. This is just a pie in the sky, specially designed to lure Wei Dafa into a trap. Your husband isn't that stupid. I rushed all the way to Caidu just to find you about this." Ruyuan hurriedly comforted the nun.

"You've come to me about this? What can I possibly do?" The nun was also puzzled.

"Here's the thing, soon I'll be taking the prototype of the Huixin phone back to Huadu with a friend. Wei Dafa definitely wants to test it out, and I think you're the most suitable person to be the online master..."

"Oh dear! No, no, I don't understand your tricks..." The nun immediately became unhappy when she heard that she was to be used to deceive people, and kept making excuses.

“My dear Qiushui, I’ve thought about this for a long time, and no one else but you can do this. Think about it, if Wei Dafa agrees to invest in this project, we’ll ask for at least a billion yuan. After deducting costs, and splitting it among the three of us, my wife and I can still get at least 300 or 400 million yuan…”

“The more people involved, the more money will be split, and the easier it is to get exposed. This is like pulling teeth from a tiger's mouth. Once we get his money, we have to get to the foreign border immediately. If it gets exposed during the operation, we won't get any money, and we won't even know how we died. You see…”

After much persuasion, the nun Qiushui reluctantly agreed. Ruyuan then took out a thick booklet and handed it to Qiushui.

“I’m very close to Wei Dafa. I know almost everything about him, big or small. This book has detailed information about everything, including what he might ask and how to answer. Take it and prepare well. If there’s an emergency, I’ll give you a message…”
