Chapter Forty-Two: Severe Injury

Thinking this, Wang Yao immersed himself in the immortal arts, activating "Capture" and confirming with the system. In an instant, he felt the people behind him appear in his mind in a fan shape, their figures dimming, while a virtual hand hovered in the air.

When he focused his mind on someone, that person lit up. A large hand also made a grasping motion out of thin air.

When Wang Yao looked around, he saw that there was only one person on his right, which was the most vulnerable spot. He immediately hugged the Caixia spirit in his arms tightly, silently took a breath, and used "Seize". In an instant, the large hand in his mind fell down and grabbed the person on the right that Wang Yao had focused his mind on.

"Tap tap tap..."

"Note: The target of the host's restraint technique has abnormal attributes and cannot be restrained. You can only move its position or abandon the magic. Moving the target's position consumes 200 points of spiritual power, and abandoning the magic consumes 100 points of spiritual power."

"Huh? Could it be that the guy on the right is the professor?"

Upon hearing the system notification, Wang Yao was taken aback. He had originally thought that the young man or Professor Zhang was the professor, but the man to his right was clearly an idler with abnormal attributes. Could he be the professor? Monsters are indeed powerful and truly cunning and difficult to discern.

Wang Yao sighed inwardly, but dared not think any further. Fortunately, his magic could still move the professor away, which was basically in line with his goal. He secretly decided on the target to move, then took a deep breath, jumped up, hugged Caixia tightly, and rushed to the right.

The idler on the right was about to kick Wang Yao when he unexpectedly dodged and retreated behind the crowd. He was stunned for a moment, and when he looked again, he saw that Wang Yao had already fled in panic, running quickly towards the school gate.

The idler glanced at Wang Yao's back but didn't chase after him. Instead, he turned to look at the others around him. His figure gradually faded away, as if his whole being was fading.

The others were in the same boat. They looked at each other in bewilderment, and one by one, the young man, the middle-aged woman, and the idle man's skin became paler and paler until they gradually disappeared. Before long, only the professor wearing glasses remained on the scene.

Looking at the people coming and going on the road, no one seemed to notice that a group fight had just taken place there. Some people who knew the professor even greeted him warmly.

"Professor Yang, you don't have any classes this morning?"

"Professor Yang, are you exercising?"

...

The professor, whose surname was unclear (it was unclear whether he was surnamed Zhang or Yang), kept smiling and nodding, his eyes fixed on the direction Wang Yao had fled, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Wang Yao ran wildly until he reached the school gate. He felt his steps faltering and blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. Afraid of attracting attention, he had no choice but to bury his mouth in Caixia's hair.

Strangely enough, although Caixia's spirit body appeared transparent, when Wang Yao's blood dripped onto it, it did not fall to the ground, but instead stained Caixia's hair.

"Hua...Hua Gu, hurry...come quickly to save people..." Wang Yao stumbled forward, taking random steps, while pulling out his phone to dial Hua Tuo's number.

"Where are you?" Hua Gu asked.

“At…Chang Sheng University’s main gate…not far from the main gate, hurry up…come to rescue people, hurry up…” As Wang Yao spoke, he spotted a stone pier by the roadside. He could no longer walk, so he plopped down on the stone pier, urging Hua Tuo on.

"I'm coming right away!" Hua Tuo replied briefly without wasting any words.

Wang Yao held the phone in one hand and the sedative in the other, cradling the colorful clouds in his arms, who were staring blankly at the sky. He felt his head getting heavier and heavier, and he kept wanting to fall asleep. It was as if, after becoming an immortal, all the drowsiness had gathered around him, trying to pull him into a dream.

The horns of cars on the roadside and the noise of the crowd seemed to become a lullaby. His head kept lowering and raising, and he tried to keep his eyes open to look at the street. He had only one thought in his mind: he must not fall asleep before Hua Tuo arrived.

"You brat, what happened to you?" Hua Tuo's voice suddenly rang out behind him. Wang Yao felt a sense of relief; he had come so quickly.

"Save...save her..." Wang Yao hadn't finished speaking when everything went black and he knew nothing more.

When Wang Yao opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in a small room. The room was sparsely furnished and deserted, much like Xi Da Zui Ba's room, except that there was no dog. He guessed that this must be Hua Tuo's residence.

“Hua... Hua Gu…” Wang Yao called out.

"What are you yelling about? You should be awake by now. What kind of deity did you offend? You got beaten up so badly, your immortal body is almost collapsing." Hua Tuo heard Wang Yao shouting and came in from the next room.

"No, Caixia..." Wang Yao was worried about Fairy Caixia. He anxiously stared at Hua Tuo and asked, while trying to sit up. However, he was in pain all over his body as if a thousand steel nails were piercing him. His vision went black and he fell back onto the bed.

"You still remember? If you can get up now, I'll take your surname, not Hua, but Wang!" Hua Tuo chuckled as he walked to the bedside. "You mean that fairy spirit? She's fine, but you're in a lot of trouble."

Hearing from Hua Tuo that Cai Xia was alright, Wang Yao finally breathed a long sigh of relief and lay down peacefully.

"It's good that you're alright. Where is she? Has she already left?"

Hearing that Caixia was safe and sound, Wang Yao felt both relieved and somewhat disappointed. His disappointment stemmed from the fact that Caixia wasn't there to wait for him to wake up. If Caixia were here to comfort him gently, it would be far better than having that hunchbacked old man, Hua Tuo, by his side.

“Go? She has closed her mind; where can she go? She's right outside,” Hua Tuo replied.
