Chapter Nineteen: Taking Action

This time the man was prepared and reacted quickly, covering his face with his hands. The child was probably too weak to spit out much saliva, which landed entirely on the man.

"What are you spitting for? Hurry up and call your dad over! I've been bullied! If your dad doesn't kill this son of a bitch today, I'll put arsenic in his food tomorrow and poison him to death!" the woman yelled at the child. The child nodded and ran out into the crowd.

When the man saw that the woman actually had reinforcements, his expression changed slightly, and he hurriedly took a step to leave.

"You son of a bitch, if you're even a man, don't you dare run away!" the woman screamed as the man tried to escape.

"I'm not running away! I'll be waiting for you at the hardware store up ahead. Pick out a weapon that suits you, and if I don't make sure your whole family goes to the Western Paradise tonight, I'll change my surname to yours!"

The man walked out while uttering threats. The woman sat on the ground, her expression shifting as she pondered how to respond. When the fight ended, some onlookers chased after the man, curious to see what weapon he had chosen, while others searched for the child, wanting to know who his father was.

Others stood beside the woman, watching her fight, her clothes askew and loose, revealing glimpses of her cleavage. They all tacitly agreed and secretly feasted their eyes.

Holy crap, the people in this world are incredibly violent! They'll fight to the death over the slightest friction. Are they some kind of fighting nation? After listening to the conversation between the man and woman, Wang Yao realized that what had just happened wasn't a typical mother-son revenge story involving a man who had changed his mind; it was more likely an encounter battle.

People in this city seem quite restless and easily agitated, with a bit too much internal heat. Opening a herbal tea shop here to cool down their internal heat should be a good business opportunity.

And that brat, he's really well-trained. He's calm under pressure, ruthless, and has an exceptionally strong ability to sustain combat. Given time, he could really be used as an assassin.

He shook his head repeatedly, seeing that there was nothing more to see, so he picked up the interface panel again and continued searching for Xiao Li. Unexpectedly, he silently chanted in his mind and flipped through several frames before finally seeing Xiao Li still sitting in the car on the interface. He immediately clicked on it and silently chanted, "Coincidence!"

"Tap tap tap..."

"Note: The host is attempting to arrange a marriage between Li Zhongxiao and Zheng Yunzhi. Due to the distance between them, two coincidences are required. If the coincidences continue, 1 merit point will be gained. If the attempt is abandoned, 100 spiritual points will be lost."

"More coincidences!" Wang Yao thought to himself.

As soon as he finished speaking, a strange wind suddenly swept through Fuqiang Street. Sparks crackled and popped on the fuse box outside Xiao Li's girlfriend Zheng Yunzhi's shop, and then the shop went dark in an instant.

Zheng Yunzhi was engrossed in taking selfies, oblivious to the fighting outside the store. But now that the power had suddenly gone out, she couldn't sit still any longer. She strode out of the store, phone in hand, turning to look at her shop as she backed away down the street, glancing around suspiciously.

She stepped onto the side of the street, but accidentally stepped on the child's abandoned scooter. She screamed, "Huh?... Ouch!... Help!"

The scooter slid along the street at high speed. Zheng Yunzhi stood on the scooter with one foot, wobbling precariously. Although she didn't fall, she was quite frightened. She held on with her other foot, not daring to put it down, and could only anxiously shout.

After finally finding a parking space, Xiao Li hurriedly drove towards the store with the grapes in his hand. As he was walking, he suddenly saw a dark shadow rushing straight towards him.

"Don't move! Don't move...!" the dark figure screamed. Xiao Li was stunned for a moment when he heard the voice. Then he saw the dark figure crash into his arms along with the scooter. Xiao Li threw the grapes aside, grabbed Zheng Yunzhi, and kept backing away, almost falling to the ground.

"You... are you holding back your aim or what?" Xiao Li had already recognized the figure as his girlfriend Zheng Yunzhi. He barely managed to steady himself and asked with lingering fear.

"Zhongxiao? You... how did you get here?" Zheng Yunzhi realized that the person she bumped into was her boyfriend, and she couldn't quite process what was happening.

"Oh, I bought some grapes and brought them to you." Xiao Li turned to look for grapes on the ground.

Looking at her boyfriend, Zheng Yunzhi suddenly found him incredibly adorable. Not only was he busy day and night, but he also remembered to bring her some grapes after buying them.

She suddenly realized that she had really gone too far with him. A man like him was worth more than a thousand pieces of gold, and she couldn't let him fall into the hands of another woman!

The thought of Xiao Li carrying grapes to other women made Zheng Yunzhi feel as if her internal organs were being tightly squeezed by a pair of large hands, making her feel suffocated and uncomfortable all over.

“Zhongxiao…I…I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have forced you to give a bride price. If we don’t have money, we don’t have money. We’ll just stay in Huadu. I…I’m not going back to my hometown.” Zheng Yunzhi stammered as she looked at Xiao Li.

Hearing Zheng Yunzhi's sudden words, Xiao Li blinked, not understanding what she meant for a moment. Then, he noticed that all the lights on Fuqiang Road had become dazzling, each one casting a beautiful double image.

"How can that be? We absolutely have to go home. Even if I have to steal or rob, I'll make sure you get all the dowry! You're my wife. If anyone makes you suffer even the slightest grievance, I'll fight them to the death!" Xiao Li was also agitated.

“No need, I’m serious! We’re both capable, as long as we don’t slack off, we can live well in Huadu. In time, when we have some savings, it’s not too late to take care of my parents…” Zheng Yunzhi felt that her boyfriend tonight was incredibly considerate, and tears were welling up in her eyes as she spoke.
