Chapter Ninety-Five: Summoning Beasts

"You're here to participate in the 'Just Lift and You'll Understand' program, right? I'll take you there." Wang Yao didn't bother with pleasantries, lest the professor remember him and cause him unnecessary trouble. He simply closed the door behind the professor and then pushed it open again.

The command center for this beast extermination operation was located in Xi Fu's house, where the immortals could freely switch between the real Prosperity Alley and Prosperity Alley No. 2 through the door.

He closed and opened the door, and the next step was No. 2 Prosperity Lane.

"I have a few colleagues downstairs. Should I call them up with me?" the professor asked. Wang Yao's hand trembled upon hearing this. He had acted too quickly and locked the professor and his colleagues in Real Prosperity Alley.

"Huh? Where did they go?" Wang Yao led the man downstairs, only to find him looking around, completely bewildered. "Something seems... not right? That area just looked like..."

"Come on, it's just a run-down alley, nothing to see. You go in and rest for a bit, I'll find your colleague." Wang Yao wiped the sweat from his brow and, dragging and pulling, led the man into the seeded players' lounge.

"Hey? Didn't I just see you right behind us? Why are you only arriving now? Where are Lao Feng and the others?" The tall and short men were drinking tea in the lounge when they saw this person and immediately started exchanging pleasantries.

"I just went upstairs and knocked on the door. Old Feng and the others were waiting downstairs. They kept saying that this place didn't look like a recording center. How come they disappeared in the blink of an eye?" This person was still confused.

"Wait a moment, I'll get your colleagues." Wang Yao quickly escaped from the seeded players' lounge and was about to go back to find Lao Feng and the others when he suddenly heard Ma Gu's voice.

"Xiao Wang, pay attention, the professor should be here..." Wang Yao felt a jolt of fear. The scent of Cai Xia was indeed the ultimate magic weapon to attract the professor. It seemed to have worked, and the professor had already come over.

Wang Yao stopped and looked down at his iPad. He saw a stylish young woman carrying a tiny handbag walk into Fanrong Alley, looking around as if she were looking for a toilet. But as soon as she entered the active queuing channel, Wang Yao saw her appearance change drastically.

Suddenly, countless hairs appeared all over the young woman's body, and she tilted down, transforming in the blink of an eye into a large caterpillar.

The caterpillar was completely covered in fluffy hair, with only a small part of its head sticking out like a monkey's bottom. However, its eyes and nose were not visible; only a bright red mouth was tightly closed. The caterpillar wriggled and crawled, but its speed was not slow.

"Is this what the professor's true form looks like?" Wang Yao wondered to himself. He quickly swiped it into Prosperity Lane No. 2. At that moment, the professor reverted to the appearance of a young woman. Without further hesitation, Wang Yao swiped it into the main debate hall.

"Welcome, welcome! We warmly welcome Professor Yang Quanxing from Changsheng University to our studio on 'Take a Look and You'll Understand'..." the female host began enthusiastically.

Upon hearing this, Wang Yao broke out in a cold sweat again. The female host was a dummy created by an immortal, completely lacking in adaptability. Upon seeing this fashionable young woman, she immediately began to welcome Yang Quanxing. The young woman's face instantly showed a suspicious expression, and her red lips parted slightly.

Suddenly, a finger reached out from the side and pressed on the iPad, immediately muting it. The young woman's mouth was moving, but what she was saying could no longer be heard.

“You…” Wang Yao looked up in surprise and saw Xi Fu standing in front of him.

"Quickly arrange for ordinary people to enter the main debate hall," Xi Fu said in a deep voice.

“But it’s not…” Wang Yao was about to explain, but Xi Fu coldly shook his head.

"We can't worry about that now. Let's get the mortals on the field and start exterminating the beasts," Xi Fu said decisively.

“Okay!” Wang Yao nodded, said no more, and gently waved his right hand from right to left on the iPad screen. Several names of different spaces appeared on the screen. Wang Yao pointed to the teahouse icon, and the iPad screen changed to the interior of the teahouse, where a group of casual workers were happily eating and drinking.

Buttons for the main debate hall and debate halls 2 through 7 appeared at the edge of the screen. Wang Yao pointed to the main debate hall. At that moment, a waiter from the teahouse walked up to a day laborer and said something. Wang Yao then pointed to turn off the mute function.

"What's your name?" the waiter asked.

“My name is Wang Laoshi,” the day laborer replied. Upon hearing the day laborer’s name, Wang Yao couldn’t help but shake his head inwardly. Just from the name, he knew this guy was no match for the professor. It seemed like a bad start. He wondered how long this guy could last.

"Please follow me," the waiter said.

"The...argument...is it starting already?" Wang Laoshi stood up, somewhat bewildered.

"Of course it's going to start. We've been here eating and drinking. Did you think people invited you just to eat and drink?" one of the day laborers laughed.

"Keep it up, Lao Wang, try to carry it until tonight."

"Damn it, Lao Wang, take it easy and leave some soup for us."

The day laborers laughed and joked, and it was clear that they all envied Wang Laoshi for winning first place. It seemed that they all thought that arguing was too easy. Come to think of it, in most people's minds, arguing is not much different from quarreling. Even if you can't quarrel, who can't kill time?

At 100 yuan an hour, if you grind like that all day, you could earn several thousand yuan. Clearly, the day laborers are prepared to wear down those stubborn guys, and this is how the war of attrition begins.

Amidst the laughter of the other workers, Wang Yao watched as Wang Laoshi left the teahouse. The workers' lounge couldn't go directly into the main debate hall; they had to climb up the stairs. The main debate hall was on the top floor, unlike the seed players' lounge which was right next door.
